Chapter 13 First Arrival at Kryukovo Village

Lin Hua left the division command center and returned to his team. Andre immediately asked with concern: "Comrade Platoon Leader, what is the task we are platoon?"

"The order given to us by the division headquarters is to immediately arrive at the village of Kliukovo and take on the defensive mission." Lin Hua said angrily: "Comrade Andre, we probably won't have a war for a long time."

When he learned that the next combat mission was to go to a small village with the same name as the city to take on a defensive mission, Andre couldn't help but show a disappointed expression on his face. He said in annoyance: "There is no way, comrade platoon leader, since it is the order of the superior, we can only execute it unconditionally."

A guide sent by the division headquarters, led Lin Hua and his soldiers, walked a few kilometers and came to a small village. An elderly second lieutenant officer was standing at the entrance of the village with his hands behind his back. The soldier who led the way quickly stepped forward to salute him and reported: "Lieutenant Vasily, I have been ordered to bring the new troops."

The second lieutenant nodded at the other party and said politely: "Thank you for letting you run so far. Please go to the village to have a cup of hot tea."

The soldier waved his hand in a hurry and said, "No need, Lieutenant Vasily, I'm still rushing back to report my life." After that, he raised his hand and saluted the other party, turned around and left quickly.

As soon as Lin Hua and other soldiers left, they quickly came to the lieutenant, raised their hand to salute, and said, "Comrade Lieutenant, Sergeant Sokov, the platoon leader of the garrison garrison in Shimki Town, reported to you that our volleyball team is ordered to come here to take over the defense. Please instruct!"

The lieutenant raised his hand and returned the salute, walked straight to the soldiers who had just lined up, and said loudly: "Comrades, I am the lieutenant Vasily, welcome your arrival!"

When Lieutenant Vasily was speaking, Lin Hua was carefully observing the situation in the village. Half of the buildings in the village should have been destroyed by war. Originally, there were only some burnt black beams left in the wooden houses in those places. After Lin Hua waited for Vasily to finish speaking to the soldiers, he immediately asked him for instructions: "Comrade Lieutenant, where does our troops live?"

"According to the rules, we should live in the homes of ordinary people." The lieutenant glanced at the army in front of him, turned his head and looked at the village. He said with some embarrassment: "But half of this village was destroyed in the attack of the German army half a month ago. When the villagers were over and returned to the village, many people found that their homes no longer exist. Now they are crowded together. If our soldiers live in residential houses, many people will have nowhere to stay."

Lin Hua turned his head and looked at the village again, and saw a relatively complete wooden house to the south of the village. He pointed to the house with his hand and said to Vasily: "Comrade Lieutenant, we can live there."

Vasily looked in the direction of his finger and saw the wooden house clearly. He nodded and replied, "Comrade Sergeant, there is a barn in the village. Although there is no food stored, there is a lot of straw piled up. You and your subordinates should have no problem living in it."

Vasily brought his troops to the barn. When the door opened, a bad smell immediately came to his nose. Seeing everyone instinctively covering their noses with their hands, Vasily said apologetically: "I'm sorry, comrades, it's useless for a long time, so it's inevitable that there will be a little smell. Open the door and open it for a while."

"Comrades, don't stand there." Lin Hua moved his hand covering his nose, looked at the messy barn, and told the soldiers: "Clean up here quickly, we will live here later." Hearing Lin Hua's instructions, the soldiers rushed into the barn and began to clean.

Seeing that the soldiers began to clean the sanitation, Vasily said to Lin Hua: "Comrade Sergeant, let me go and let me introduce you to the situation in the village."

Lin Hua guessed that the other party might have something to say, so he asked Andre to stay and command the soldiers to clean up, while he followed Vasily toward the outside of the village.

"Comrade Sergeant," Vasily pointed at the burned houses and asked, "Do you know how these houses were burned?"

Hearing this question, Lin Hua instinctively shook his head and thought to himself that I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, how could he know how these houses were burned?

Vasily didn't seem to want any answer from Lin Hua, but said to himself: "Half a month ago, a platoon of soldiers was stationed in this village. Faced with the fierce attack of the German army, they fought tenaciously for three days. Even when there were only the last seven people left in the platoon, the platoon leader bravely charged the enemy with the soldiers. In the end, all but one seriously injured person was ruled out, and all the other soldiers were killed. These buildings were destroyed by German artillery fire during those days of battle."

After listening to the story of Vasily, Lin Hua suddenly had an inspiration in his mind and said to himself: No wonder when he heard the place name Klikovo, he felt so familiar. It turned out that before traveling through time, he had heard a song "In the Village of Klikovo" in the literary performance of the Victory Festival, which was a praise of the soldiers who stood by Klikovo. Thinking of this, Lin Hua couldn't help but respect those soldiers who died heroically in order to defend Klikovo.

Vasily took him to the west of the village. Here, you can see a circular trench outside the village. From scorched earth and a wide range of bullet craters, as well as a broken German tank in the distance, you can imagine how fierce the battle was at that time.

Lin Hua looked at these simple fortifications outside the village and asked Vasily curiously: "Comrade lieutenant, did the soldiers who were guarding the village at that time rely on such simple fortifications and held on for three days under the fierce attack of the German army?"

"Yes, our heroic soldiers blocked the German attack with such simple fortifications." Vasily pointed at the wreckage of the tank in the distance and continued: "The warriors did not have any anti-tank weapons. When they saw the German tank rushing towards the village, the two soldiers tied bombs on their bodies and rushed up to die with the enemy tanks." Lin Hua took off the military cap on his head, looked at the destroyed German tank in the distance, and silently mourned the two warriors who bombed the tanks.

After Lin Hua put on his military cap again, Vasily said to him: "Comrade Sergeant, although our army is currently besieging the city of Liukovo, we are still unknown whether we can take down the city and drive the enemy away from this area. Therefore, this village must have troops to defend against possible attacks by the German army."
