505 The Fall of the Vanguard

Standing in front of the burning leopard tank wreckage, looking up at the dark night sky. Lin Chi turned around and walked into the extremely solid apartment building, standing in the brightly lit first-floor corridor, alertly observing the movements outside.

The armed helicopter mentioned by the woman in black has not appeared yet. However, Lin Chi was still alert to prepare for the battle:

Even the armed helicopters in 1990 can launch attacks on infantry nearly two kilometers away. After all, in that era, the once extremely fierce "king of armed helicopters" - the AH-64 Apache armed helicopter, had already been put into use.

The early mass-produced Apache helicopters were equipped with an extremely efficient forward-view thermal imaging system (FLIR). The maximum observation distance of this equipment is thirteen kilometers long, and the distance that can identify enemies is 2.4 kilometers.

As the first large-scale armed helicopter equipped with FLIR, Apache became a nightmare for enemy infantry and tanks as soon as it debuted. The advanced forward-view thermal imaging system has improved performance by more than one or a half points compared to the previous generation of equipment. It can even remotely detect enemies hiding in bushes or bunkers, and launch a fatal attack from two kilometers away!

However, as far as Lin Chi knows, the first generation of foresight thermal imaging systems should use original mechanical scanning, and this kind of device actually has a huge weakness.

Looking at the smoke rising above the burning tank wreckage, Lin Chi picked up several grenades from the body of the black-clad soldier next to him and threw them into the open space in front of the apartment building, further expanding the range of the combustion area, and then finally breathed a sigh of relief.

——The first-generation thermal imaging equipment on the armed helicopters cannot observe the rear targets through flames. Because of this, when early Apache helicopters launched missiles to bomb the enemy during their mission, they often continued to use machine guns to "finish" the areas covered by flames, and completely destroyed the likely alive opponents through the inhumane whipping tactics.

Now, the flames and smoke in the open space in front of the apartment building have obscured the vision ahead. Even if the helicopter attacks from the back of the apartment building, the helicopter's cannons and missiles alone cannot penetrate the apartment building that cannot even collapse even cruise missiles.

So now, if the helicopter still wants to search for enemies in the apartment building, it can only get close to this building. As long as it appears within Lin Chi's range, the powerful stinger missile can come in handy!

The wreckage of the Leopard 2 tank crackled, and the flames brought out the rolling smoke to the sky. Lin Chi calmed down and listened to the noise in the air. Then he soon noticed the harsh noise of the helicopter propeller tearing the air in the distance.

——The enemy has appeared!

Realizing that the armed helicopter had appeared, he put the stinger missile on his shoulder and stood in front of the window of the apartment that had long been glass-free, observing the situation in the sky.

The flames and thick smoke in the square not only obscured the sight of the armed helicopter, but also blocked Lin Chi's sight. With this visibility, long-range combat that the armed helicopters are good at cannot be achieved, and they can only approach the apartment building to find the enemy.

This originally very unfair showdown has changed from an out-of-visual range battle with no chance of winning in infantry to a close-range "Western Fight"!

Now, the key to victory or defeat is who sees the other party first!

Thinking of this, Lin Chi narrowed his eyes and tried to confirm the location of the helicopter. The sound of the propeller's wind breaking became closer and closer, and soon approached the sky above the apartment building, and then-

Buzz...

A low roar suddenly emerged from the front of the open space, blowing away the smoke above the tank wreckage. A very dangerous black shadow suddenly appeared in Lin Chi's sight.

That's now!

The moment he saw the helicopter, Lin Chi was half kneeling in front of the corridor window where the apartment building had long been glass-free, and aimed the cross-shaped optical sight of the Sprig missile at the armed helicopter that was rapidly expanding in sight.

Three seconds later, a prompt sound symbolizing the completion of the locking sounded from the missile launcher, and Lin Chi activated the launcher without hesitation. With the sharp whistling sound, the slender missile rose from the launcher, bringing out a dazzling flame and flew straight to the rushing armed helicopter.

At the same time, a deadly fire lighted under the helicopter's fuselage!

Bang bang bang bang...

The 30 mm caliber cannon swept out a deadly fire whip from the open space and sucked towards Lin Chi's location. Lin Chi threw away the missile launcher in his hand, turned around and rushed into a room next to him. As soon as he hid in the bedroom, a violent hot wind blew in from the door, making him red all over.

The helicopter's cannon could not penetrate the walls of this "invulnerable" apartment building, but it still blasted into the corridor through the window. Although it could not cause direct damage to Lin Chi, the noise and heat brought by the explosion of the cannon shells at this distance were still enough...

The deafening noise made Lin Chi lose his hearing for a moment, but he was deaf for less than two seconds, and an even more shocking explosion sounded from the rooftop, which again roughly recalled his hearing, causing the entire building to tremble.

Hearing this sound, Lin Chi's face, which was smoky and red in black, finally showed another smile:

"Is this... a helicopter crashed?"

It seems that the simple and crude "cowboy duel" just now should have come to an end. And the winning side is undoubtedly himself!

The corridor was filled with choking smoke, and the dazzling Christmas lights on the first floor had already gone out. Lin Chi, who had solved the helicopter, returned to the living room and was about to leave the apartment building where the fire could occur at any time, but he saw a blurry black shadow floating in, and at the same time, a gloomy sound was heard:

"Hehehe..."

Seeing this scene, Lin Chi's heart suddenly sank again, frowned and muttered: "You are not dead yet."

——It’s the pioneer!

The lingering vampire did not die under the attack of missiles, but hid in the apartment building and carried it over. Then, taking advantage of the opportunity when the lights on the first floor went out, he finally returned to the first floor that he could not get involved!

"Fresh... blood..." The erratic black shadow let out a hoarse howl and rushed towards Lin Chi.

This low-level vampire, who was almost killed by Christmas lights and flash bombs, could not suppress the urge to suck blood, and began to attack in the shadow state.

In the midst of lightning, Lin Chi was about to bend down to dodge the enemy who was rushing towards him, but the vampire suddenly froze, and then—a miserable howl, which made Lin Chi's left ear begin to bleed:

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Lin Chi looked closely and saw a figure that was equally dark, some time later, appeared behind the Pioneer. The silver blade in his hand ruthlessly pierced the chest of the low-level vampire and nailed the black mist to the floor of the living room.

"This idiot really didn't disappoint me!" Zhen, who was in the form of a royal sister, showed a bright smile on her face. She pulled out a long silver knife with her left hand again, nailing it through the vampire's head.

Witnessing the miserable situation of the pioneer, Lin Chi immediately understood and asked angrily: "So, are you using me as bait?"
