711 True Warrior-2

"ah……"

Putting the unconscious Maria aside, Marcus let out a low roar in his throat, like a wounded beast.

He was once a member of the Cobra Squad under the War Observer, but was forcibly "sent" to other maps by Hoffman. Before arriving on Mars, he had seen countless battlefields.

From the ancient desert two thousand years ago to the desolate satellites countless years later, he witnessed almost all possible battles in "War Paradise", which is truly a battle-breaking experience.

In fact, it is precisely because of his steely will and strong psychological qualities that Marcus became one of the leaders of the Cobra Squad.

But even so, when he made a "shuttle" for the last time and arrived on Mars, he still had serious psychological problems:

Although he survived, no one could maintain a healthy mindset after experiencing countless hellish wars in succession. What's more, the intensity of war Marcus saw had already exceeded the limit of human beings!

Then, this guy who saw almost all the wars in the world became a veritable "war observer", and his reason finally returned to zero, his spirit completely collapsed, and he became what he is now.

Marcus still remembers that just when his body was burned down while the spacecraft was about to die, he even felt relieved. Unfortunately, when he opened his "eyes" again, he soon realized that he was still alive.

To this day, Marcus still remembers clearly what happened that day:

When he woke up, he thought he had fallen into hell. He raised his head and looked around, but found that he was sitting in the metal cabin of a spacecraft, with the steel bulkhead around him reflecting a dim silver light.

"I'm still alive? No...it's impossible...how do I..."

Marcus muttered incoherently, even though he found that he had survived fortunately, there was no trace of gratitude in his voice, but instead was full of unconcealed regret.

——If I hadn’t been devoted to survival, I wouldn’t have worked so hard, right? Now it seems that it’s better for me to die...

Thinking of this, Marcus also decisively crashed into the metal bulkhead, intending to commit suicide without any hesitation. But after finally making up his mind to give up his life, he was blocked by invisible force.

The force that blocked his suicide behavior pressed him tightly on the bed. Not to mention committing suicide, he could not even move his fingers, and only his head could make movements.

"Who are you?"

Looking at the black shadow pressing from the other side of the space capsule, Marcus made a shocked voice. Two seconds later, the surprised expression on his face turned into astonishment, and two tears were shed in the corner of his eyes.

He heard the male voice he would never forget - from the "War Observer":

"It's me, Marcus."

“BOSS…”

Marcus's tears and snot were covered with his face. The "old man" who had walked through countless battlefields and had already become old, had a strange expression that could not be described in words on his face, crying and laughing, as if a devout believer saw the god appear in front of him:

"Sorry, sorry... I let you down, I am the shame of Cobra Squad... Thank you for saving me! Thank you, thank you..."

Marcus no longer knew what he was talking about, but just sat on the head of the bed crying and watched the shadow approach him.

Even for the elites of the Cobra Squad, War Observer is a mysterious existence. As the leader of the organization, this guy has never appeared on any occasion. His level of mystery is comparable to that of the leader of the "Black Organization" of a certain Japanese island country.

This time, the War Observer still did not show up, his body was completely covered with a layer of black air, but Marcus would never misheard his sexually neurotic voice:

"I know where you went, and I'm glad to see you come back to me. So now... would you like to continue to be loyal to me?"

"Of course, of course!" Marcus nodded without hesitation.

"Let's listen, this will be your last mission." The voice of the War Observer floated out of the dark shadow: "Just do what I say, I will satisfy any wishes of you."

Hearing this, Marcus still smiled happily on his smokey face, his burned facial muscles trembled hard, and opened his mouth to express his only remaining wish:

"Can you raise Maria? She died... Do you know who Maria is? She was captured with me and died on the battlefield in Africa!"

"I understand." The black shadow made a nodding move similarly: "I can let her return to you, but I can't call her 'soul' back, I can only give you an empty shell. Is this OK?"

"It's fine, as long as she can live!" Marcus's voice was very anxious.

——He was thrown into other "worlds" with Maria, and fought on various battlefields with the disabled woman. He had already established a close relationship beyond friendship and love, and I don't know how to describe it.

He saved Maria's life many times, and Maria also helped him escape from the pursuit. On the wild battlefield in Africa, if it weren't for covering his retreat, Maria wouldn't have been shot and killed by those thugs holding AK.

Because of this, for Marcus, resurrecting Maria was the only wish in his heart.

After he made the request, the black shadow nodded immediately:

"I can meet your needs. However, I can only 'resurrect' her once. Remember one more thing, if you encounter an opponent you can't defeat, just kill her and you can gain powerful strength."

After speaking, the dark shadow of the War Observer disappeared from the capsule, and the burnt skin on Marcus was instantly replaced with hard steel.

As the invisible force that fixed his body dissipated, Marcus finally stood up again. Before he could confirm where he was, he heard the sound of an electric wheelchair:

"You are here..."

Looking at the silver-haired woman sitting in a wheelchair with only her upper body remaining, Marcus strodes forward and hugged the "old guy" who accompanied her through life and death with her arms covered by metal skin.

"Thank you, Lord War Observer..." Marcus fell to the ground and stared at the silver-haired woman in front of him:

"This time, I won't leave you behind."

...

"I promise."

Consciousness returns to reality from memory, Marcus's voice is firm. He puts the unconscious Maria flat on the sand, then stands up and strodes back towards the battlefield.
