Chapter 71: Margaret's Morning
"Yes, I don't want those unhappy things anymore. Come on, keep eating, I'll eat with you."
Margaret smiled sweetly and continued to enjoy the food. After taking a few bites, she stopped and asked, "My mother, where is my father?"
"He and your brother are dealing with some things on the island, and they will come in a while."
"Do you have to deal with things so early? I'll call them." Margaret wiped her mouth with a dining cloth, and regardless of her mother's persuasion, she rushed towards the office of the Governor of Hefangdao.
Walking through the corridor with crystal lights hanging, Margaret came to her own garden, and her father's workroom was on the other side of the garden.
There are very few flowers that can adapt to the underground, but here, various valuable flowers are competing for beauty.
Smelling the refreshing fragrance of flowers, Margaret couldn't help but feel much better. When she walked to the edge of a garden, she was attracted by the lights outside the fence.
Governor He Fang's mansion was built on the highest mountain in the center of the island. From above, the lights at the islanders' homes were completely visible.
As the third largest island in the sea, it covers a very vast area, almost half a continent. Margaret tried hard to look into the distance and could barely see the vague firelight in the port area.
"There is also a port area on my father's island. Maybe I can send a telegram to Mr. Charles to come here, so I will have a chance to see him."
Margaret recalled the young man with black eyes in her mind, and a faint blush appeared on her face.
He didn't get along well with him during that period. He would rather discuss various knowledge about ships and cannons with the talking mouse than to pay attention to himself.
Usually, she occasionally called herself to help him apply medicine. When she thought of that scene, she was very angry. She was obviously the daughter of the governor, but she treated herself like a maid.
But I don’t know what’s going on, but during this period, I always think of him.
Margaret, who was lying on the railing, sighed. He looked at the distance and became a little confused for a moment. He didn't know what he thought of, his face was sometimes happy and sometimes sad.
Ten minutes later, a middle-aged man in his forties in his suit and ties walked behind the girl, bowed slightly and asked, "Miss, this place is a bit dangerous, please be careful."
Margaret was startled by the sound and turned around in panic to find that it was the butler of the mansion.
She stuck out her tongue a little embarrassedly. "Sorry, Mr. York, I'm a little distracted."
"Is the young lady here to enjoy the flowers? Don't stay for too long. You have etiquette classes in the morning."
Margaret suddenly remembered something, and she looked panicked and hurriedly ran out of the garden with her skirt. "Oh no, I'm here to ask my father to have breakfast."
Wait for Margaret to come to the door of Governor He Fang's office.
A row of guards holding guns stood neatly on both sides.
She calmed down her panic and raised her hand and was about to knock on the door when a loud noise suddenly came from behind the door.
"Waste! Waste! Waste! How do you do this!!! If you can't do it, get out of here!!!"
Hearing the roar of his father, Margaret, with a puzzled look on his face, shrunk his hand back, "Father sounds so angry, what's wrong?"
After hesitating carefully for a while, she pressed her ear on her.
The guards standing guard at the door stood motionless, as if they had seen nothing.
"You are the director of the police station in the entire Ho Fang Island! You are telling a living person that you can't find!! Let me tell you!! He is the grandson of He Fang's Finance Minister Pitt! It's not the garbage in the port area!!!"
Daniel's roaring sound made Margaret's ears tingle a little.
"Mr. Governor, I have tried all the methods. I have even entrusted the madmen of the Ftans, but I just couldn't find anyone and seemed to have disappeared."
"I don't want to explain!! My family lives on this island, and I can't put them in danger! I will deal with this trouble for me in three days, three days. If my daughter has any accidents again, I will squeeze your head! Get out of here now!!"
The thick wooden door opened, and a bald middle-aged man with sweat on his head escaped in a hurry.
When he saw Margaret standing outside the door, he bowed respectfully and left quickly.
Margaret walked in carefully and asked Daniel behind the huge table, "Sir, has something happened?"
Seeing his daughter come in, Daniel's anger immediately dissipated, "It's okay, just a little problem. What's our pearl here for?"
"Mother said, let you go over for breakfast." Margaret said, leaning towards the huge table.
The next second, the girl saw several photos on the messy table, one of which attracted her attention, not because of anything else, but because of the black pupils that looked like Mr. Charles.
"Sir, who is this lady? She is so beautiful." She picked up the photo.
"She is the newly married wife of the dead guy. What a pity. Such a beautiful wife died as soon as she was married. I don't know if they had spent the night together."
A young man with a somewhat similar face to Daniel came over from behind and snatched the photo from the girl's hand.
Daniel glared at his son. “Is this appropriate to say in front of your sister?”
The young man shrugged without any fear of his father. "The boy died, and his property was half the widow."
"It's not that simple. Pete is a miser. He won't let a woman from the outside island snatch the property so easily."
"My father, the marriage law was signed by the founder of our family."
"That's for civilians! It's not difficult for Pete to let someone disappear."
"Haha, this is not like what the ruler of an island should say."
"Should it be said or not, that's the truth."
Margaret looked at her father talking to her brother blankly, unable to figure out what they were saying.
Seeing her daughter's confused look, Daniel touched her head with her hand and said, "You go back first, I'll say a few words to Jack and then go."
"Well, then hurry up." Margaret nodded obediently and turned toward the door.
Watching his daughter leave, Daniel looked at his son with a gloomy expression. "How is it? Have you found it?"
"I found it. They were a group of pirates hiding near the paradise vortex. They usually robbed fishing boats and cargo ships. Margaret was robbed by them."
