1487. Across Capitol Hill (2/10)

Matthew Jin agreed to Qin Shiou's request, which was as expected by the latter. Since the old minister asked him to be the chairman, he must give him some benefits, at least to cooperate with his plan, otherwise how could he be willing to do it?

The genetic modification research of small chlorophyllium algae has reached the experimental stage. We need to find some fishing grounds for experiments first. Qin Daren generously took out his own fishing ground for experiments.

It is not out of selfishness, this is the most appropriate one. He can use the energy of the sea god to improve the survival ability of the small chlorophyllium in the Atlantic Ocean.

After the talk, Matthew King was a little confused: "I can understand that you need small chlorophyllium algae, but is ice and snow algae useful? I remember not being able to survive in the North Atlantic Ocean, right? The ocean department has done many experiments, but it is not possible at all."

Qin Shiou smiled mysteriously and said, "The mountain man has his own tricks. Minister, you just need to wait for my good news."

The establishment meeting of the Newfoundland Fisheries Alliance was scheduled to start on Monday, at 9:30. Qin Shiou and Winnie arrived at Capitol Hill at 7:00. He had never been to this place known as the heart of Canada's politics, and Winnie took him to visit.

Of course there is nothing to see on Capitol Hill. What he is interested in is Capitol Hill, one of the Ottawa tourism promotional slogans, that is, you have never seen Capitol Hill, let alone you have been to Ottawa.

The first impression of the whole mountain is that it has good greenery. Even in March, the mountain has become lush and green, the lawn is trimmed in a flat and orderly manner, and green buds and tender branches have grown on many trees.

Qin Shiou stretched out his hand and broke a willow branch and sighed: "The climate in Ottawa is so good. The trees have sprouted like this in March."

Winnie was stunned when she saw him breaking the willow branches. She was about to speak when a handsome white guy dressed as a guard rushed up and waved his white gloves and said, "Hello, sir, please leave here. Capitol Hill does not welcome vandals."

Qin Shiou realized that his subconscious behavior was not very good. He quickly apologized, but the guard shook his head firmly and said, "You are not welcome here."

Winnie pulled him away and said to the guard with a smile: "Hello, sir, first I apologize to you for what my husband did. Then I explain that my husband's race has the custom of breaking branches in spring. Their ancestors also left a beautiful poem to commemorate this activity: the flowers bloom and must be broken, and don't wait for the flowers to break branches without flowers."

She said the poem in Chinese. The guard was stunned when he heard it. Canada respects the tradition of immigration. I may not like your tradition, but I swear to defend your power to maintain your own tradition. This is one of the principles of Canadian civil servants.

In this way, the guard hesitated. When Winnie smiled sweetly at him, he softened his heart and waved his hand to signal them to be at will, but he still warned them not to damage the environment again.

Under the leadership of Winnie, Qin Shiou started browsing from the Capitol, which is a symbol of Ottawa and even the entire Canada. The Capitol consists of three Gothic buildings, divided into the Central District, the East District and the West District, and is currently the location of the Canadian government and the Senate.

Qin Shiou stood under the building and looked up. The first thing he saw was the maple leaf flag fluttering in the wind on the bell tower. A series of Gothic buildings with stone-brown copper roofs stood resolutely on the banks of the Ottawa River to symbolize the unyielding spirit of the Canadian nation.

Similar to the Parliament Buildings of many British colonial countries, there is a large square with lawns in front of the Parliament Building.

With the lesson of breaking willow branches in front, Qin Shiou didn't dare to sit on the lawn anymore, and stood in front and asked Winnie to take two photos.

The Parliament Building is centered on the Peace Tower. In the middle is the central building, with the east and west building on both sides. Winnie told him that the functions of these three buildings are different. The main building is the real Parliament Building, where the Senate, House of Representatives and the Prime Minister are working here, and the two side buildings are office buildings of Canadian government agencies.

She did not introduce the office situation in the East and West Building, but introduced a secret: "Do you know, it is said that these two buildings are the earliest vault locations in Canada, and the gold stored in Canada is in these two buildings."

Qin Shiou laughed: "How is that possible? The national vault is here, and there is such a defensive force? I and I can grab the soldiers with us..."

Halfway through his words, he shut up. A guard team came over after completing the defense change. The captain dressed like a rooster stared at him with a vigilant look, not very friendly.

Obviously, they heard him and Winnie’s previous conversation.

Then they looked down and soon walked to the Peace Tower. This 400 meters is 90 meters long, known as "the most exquisite Gothic building in the world" and the tallest building in the Capitol. It was built to requiem the dead.

All the buildings in Capitol Hill are exquisite, at least in Qin Shiou's eyes, with green roofs and gray stone walls, just like oil paintings.

Not far from the Peace Tower, there is a "Centenary Holy Flame" built in the center of the square in front of the Capitol - the "Centenary Holy Flame" built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Canada.

In the center of the fire platform, a flame was burning wildly. A circle of fountains flowed around the jumping flames, slowly pouring down the slope of the fire platform.

Water and fire are clear, and water and fire are blending. Qin Shiou thought this was a clever design, so he came with two photos.

Around the fire platform are the bronze-casting badges of Canadian states, and on the edge, they are carved with the date they join Canada.

Winnie introduced to him like a tour guide: "The design of this fire platform has special significance. You know, Canada was once a colony of the French Empire and the British Empire, and the issue of unity among all ethnic groups has always been a thorny issue..."

Qin Shiou nodded. Although the outside world thinks that Canada is a pure land on earth, there seems to be no war. In fact, the problems of territorial division and national integration have always troubled the government. To this day, Quebec still shouts from time to time.

"This fire platform that blends water and fire symbolizes the will and desire of the Canadian government to maintain the unity, stability and unity of the federal government." Winnie said.

The two were watching the fire platform, and a surprise voice sounded from behind: "Hey, are you Qin? The owner of the fishing ground Qin?"

Qin Shiou thought it was a tourist who recognized him. After all, he is also a storied figure among Chinese Canadians. As a result, when he turned around, he found that he was an acquaintance. At least they had drunk wine together - Bird and Nelson's comrades-in-arms, Ferguson, who once went to the fishing grounds for a passerby on the Invalokites' Day.

Ferguson is now wearing a uniform, with a clock sign on his epaulette. Winnie whispered, saying that he should be a staff member of the Peace Tower because there is a 488-meter four-sided clock and a regular carillon composed of 53 bells on the top of the Peace Tower. (To be continued.)
