Chapter five hundred and ninety second historical process

The wheel of history continues to move forward, and the war between Iraq and Iran finally ended at the end of the year, two years later than history.

In fact, in the later period, there was no longer much suspense in the Iraq-Iraq War. The land war between the two sides almost ended, mainly the ship attack war at sea.

The war lasted more than history. One of the reasons was that Pakistan and China's technical assistance led to Iran continuing to maintain their Tomcat fleet and Iran had the ability to continue fighting. So, in the later stages, Iranian planes almost frequently visited Iraq, making Iraq unable to fight back.

Now, the cruel Iran-Iraq War has finally ended. At the end of the year, the two countries have returned to their original national boundaries, which means that neither side has achieved any results. The end of this war is the economic regression of both sides for twenty years and the loss of millions of people.

Iraq suffered 180,000 deaths, 250,000 injuries, and direct losses of US$350 billion, and owed foreign debts up to US$80 billion. The war was mainly carried out on Iran's land, and they suffered more casualties, such as deaths of 700,000 and more than 1.1 million injuries. 200,000 women in Tehran alone became widows, and Iran owed US$45 billion in foreign debts, and directly lost US$300 billion.

War is a double-edged sword, and both sides are victims in this war.

The world expressed high praise for the acceptance of the United Nations mediation and halting this tragic war, calling for the hard-won peace.

Only the arms dealers felt regret, and without war, there was no benefit.

The winter of this year is about to pass soon, and 1991 is coming.

The climate in the north is very cold, and it was snowing dozens of centimeters thick in Moscow, just like when the Germans attacked Moscow.

The tall Kremlin has also become a world covered in silver, like a castle in a fairy tale.

"General Secretary, our reform this year is still very difficult." In the office, Gorbachev looked at his close comrade-in-arms and Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Yakolev, and the other party's words were a little frustrated.

Actively raise funds and invest them in the country, but they still fail to take effect, as if the stones were thrown into the water and sinking. They would never float up again.

Gorbachev has been actively promoting reform, hoping that the country can become stronger through reform, just like China in the East. At this time, China's economy has been making great strides, but the Soviet Union is still standing still.

Gorbachev's hand gently tapped the table and said, "What's going on? In a few years, our reform has not been effective!"

"We are under great resistance," said Yakolev. "All this is because there is a privileged class in our country, who are below, hindering our economic reform."

Privileged class! Gorbachev knew what Yakolev was referring to. After Brezhnev came to power, he promoted his close confidants, and the Soviet political arena formed a privileged class with Brezhnev as the core. In particular, Brezhnev also developed a lifelong cadre system, and the entire class had been separated from the bottom. The phenomenon of these people embezzling, stealing and taking state property as their own is very common. Therefore, in the second half of Brezhnev's rule, the Soviet Union stopped its development and had a stagnation period. It was at this time that the privileged class of the Soviet Union was full, and the number of people in this class was as high as 500,000. They controlled all aspects of the country, making Gorbachev's plan unable to be implemented.

Because Gorbachev's reforms will of course harm their interests! In later generations, with the economic reforms of China, how many state-owned enterprises have gone bankrupt! The rigid and undying state-owned enterprises will inevitably be replaced by vibrant private enterprises, which is something that the privileged classes cannot tolerate. Therefore, Moscow's various reform measures cannot be obtained from Moscow.

"Then do you think we have any better ways?" Gorbachev asked.

"We must limit those privileged classes. The best way to do it is to reform!" Yakolev said: "We are now struggling with economic reforms. We must carry out a series of political reforms. These reforms are to disperse those privileged classes! We must carry out a series of comprehensive political reform suggestions like the West, such as democracy, openness, multi-party system, and presidential system."

Multi-party system! Now, the corruption within the Soviet Party is very serious, so we might as well create a new party, and the two sides compete and implement a multi-party system. In this way, the privileged classes will be divided and gradually eliminated! Only by pushing these obstacles away can our own reform continue!

The multi-party system is to ask them to give up their current leadership position! Hearing this, Marshal Ogalkov on the side frowned: "No, this method will definitely not work! In this way, there will be turmoil in the Soviet Union! This is the foundation of our country!"

In the past, Yakolev had proposed such political reforms, but was boycotted by Ogalkov. If the party loses its leadership over the Soviet army, it means the Soviet Union is in turmoil!

In the past, when Gorbachev heard his boycott, he would give up on this idea, but now, Gorbachev said: "Ogalkov, just manage your own field. Yakolev, you continue."

So Ogalkov could only hold his anger and watch Yakolev speak out all the thoughts.

This has been nearly three years later than history.

In history, in 1988, the Soviet Union had already begun political reforms and introduced a new set of theories. The West applauded and welcomed them, promoted Western democracy and constantly drew cakes for the Soviets. As a result, when the Soviet building collapsed, all the Soviets discovered that they were fooled by the West, and that powerful country no longer existed.

Even Russia, most people quickly became poor with the depreciation of the ruble. They all missed the country in the past. Even if Russia was constantly reviving, they no longer repeated the scenery of the Soviet Union. With NATO's expansion eastward, the Russians found that the Americans would not regard them as friends, but still regarded them as their biggest enemies. At the same time, they had already stood at their doorstep.

Now, with Gorbachev coming to power, with the help of Mhamad, Gorbachev kicked away Sokolov and others early. The newly appointed Ogalkov firmly supported Gorbachev's economic reform, while significantly reducing military spending and reforming the army through other methods. As a result, the time when the Soviet Union was dumped was so few years later. However, the historical trend is irreversible, and Gorbachev still has to take the path of political democratization.

Ogarkov felt a little dizzy. If this reform continues, the country will have to be in turmoil! However, this is not the area he is responsible for! He is mainly responsible for military aspects! Economic and political reforms, and he has no say!

As a soldier, Ogarkov is very conscious, that is, the soldiers do not participate in politics! He only cares about the army, never as aggressive as Ustinov, he is gentle. So now he is just sulking.

"Master Ogarkov, Marshal Ogarkov!" Several screams came from his ears, but Ogarkov didn't hear them. In the end, the foreign minister next to him pushed him, and he realized.

"Ogalkov, let's talk about the progress of the army." Gorbachev said: "The country's allocation is decreasing, and the construction of the army cannot be delayed."

"Yes." Ogarkov said: "We signed contracts with China for twenty Su-34 fighter jets and forty Su-27s with Iraq. These two contracts can maintain the development of our new fighter jets."

After the Chinese delegation arrived in Moscow, the military and Sukhoi Design Bureau almost tried their best to sell the fighter jets renamed the Su-34. China only ordered twenty aircraft and said that it would place a second order after further evaluation. It was originally expected to get orders of eighty to one hundred aircraft from China, but it seemed to be very difficult.

The talk with Iraq was very good. Although the Iraq-Iraq War ended, Iraq ordered forty improved Su-27 fighter jets in large quantities, which made Marshal Ogalkov very happy. He personally met with the visiting Iraqi military representatives and accompanied them for two days.

"China has only ordered twenty aircraft?" Gorbachev was also surprised. Now, the army's large expenses come from the sale of weapons. For the sake of reform, the army has been considered a heavy burden, and many equipment has been exported.

"Yes, they have started to produce counterfeit Tomcat fighter jets themselves, and it seems they want to be used as the main fighter jets of the next generation," said Ogarkov.

Needless to say, it must be the reason for Pakistan! Ogarkov was also so angry that he hated him.

"Is there anything else?" Gorbachev asked.

"Pakistan is very interested in our ejection seats and our high-thrust engine technology," said Ogalkov. "We are discussing the export of ejection seats, but our high-thrust engine is related to our confidentiality and we have not agreed to the export."

"Is it used on our new fighter jet?" Gorbachev asked.

"No, our new fighter jets use more advanced engines," Ogarkov said.

"Then you can export." Gorbachev said.
