4. Chapter 4

This silence was what Kevin disliked the most. It was as if everyone died in an instant, no longer existed, no past, and no future. This would always evoke some less beautiful memories of him, although in fact, he knew what this was actually messing around.

It is a desert race entrenched on the west side of the continent. Because of its treacherous, strange and insidious direction, it is called sand ghosts by most people. Every time a certain number of sand ghosts pass by in a hurry, people within a radius of 100 meters will have hallucinations of obstruction of their ears and ears - they cannot hear any sound or see anyone except themselves.

Of course, the duration was very short, only about ten seconds.

But at such a critical moment in the battlefield, even ten seconds would be quite dead. Therefore, most of the years when Kevin was the commander of the Bronze Army spent most of his time on "resisting the attack of sand ghosts", and even eventually "dead" on such a battlefield.

"The ghost is not dissipating..." Kevin's face turned cold and pressed his hand on the hilt of the short knife around his waist, tightening every nerve in his body...

This has almost become some kind of conditioned reflex.

Click—

The car door suddenly made a light sound.

Kevin bounced up instantly, and stabbed it out with a knife, and nailed it to the car door.

He was not strong and had only a thin layer of muscles covered all over his body, so he had no advantage in terms of strength alone. However, years of experience made him well versed in the offensive skills, so the seemingly thick car door was penetrated by him. With one pull and one stir, the door shaft broke and the entire door collapsed.

Kevin: "..." What a broken thing?!

A gust of wind whistled past the car, and the stones brought up collided on the car, making a "click" collision sound, exactly the same as the movement just now. A handful of fine sand came from the open car door, and his head covered Kevin's face--

The sand ghost has left, his hearing has recovered, and his hallucinations have disappeared.

"Very good, you unloaded my door in less than five minutes." Osvid's voice sounded not far away, as the rustling footsteps got closer, "Your Excellency Fassbinder, are you in vain?"

"Are you looking for a fight?" Kevin was so annoyed by the sand ghost's appearance that he replied without thinking.

Osvid: "…"

"Are they really just passing by?" Kevin squatted by the car door on one knee, his posture and defense not relaxed. He held a short knife and glanced around carefully, "How could it be..."

Osvid walked closer and his little arm slammed on the border of the car door, and said to him angrily: "This is a scattered place, not a battlefield. It is common for sand ghosts to "purely pass by" here."

"Sand ghosts can turn all places into battlefields. They will never learn how to write the word 'rules' in their next life." Kevin said coldly.

Osvid clamped Kevin's knife tip with two fingers and moved him in a direction: "According to the old code of the Golden Lion Empire, people like you who hold a knife to the emperor will be hung to death and hung on a spire for public display, all naked."

"And the carriage door-" He kicked the pounded door on the ground with his toes, sneered, and said concisely: "Give compensation."

Kevin: "..." Give your grandpa!

He pulled the knife back to his waist, slapped Osvid's hand that was on the door frame, and jumped out of the car.

After hearing recovery, the world outside the car suddenly became extremely noisy-

This is a very messy town, with houses and forts of different styles mixed together, either far or near, without any planning at all, as if they were dividing the land, and they could occupy one place.

This town, known as the "Scattered Land", is located at the junction of different ethnic forces, occupying the largest "crossroads" in the middle of the mainland. It has the most cunning residents, the simplest and most crude money transactions, and the most complex forces involved. It is a hell for some people and a paradise for others.

No matter how chaotic the place is, there are unwritten rules it has formed over a long time. At least even the sand ghost will not act rashly here, so to a certain extent, it is both dangerous and safe.

Osvid's carriages and horses could only stay outside the town, and parked in the crow's nest, which was specially designed for passing troops to rest, and were left behind by heavy armored cavalry. The remaining elite squads were divided into two groups, one to buy food, wine and drinks for everyone, and the other to disguise them, followed Osvid.

Kevin loosened his muscles and bones under the car, and saw Osvid looking up and down with his arms in his arms, his expression revealing a unique impatient feeling of a young man.

"How come I stabbed you in the eyes of your respected Majesty?" Kevin said angrily.

"Have you finished twisting? Come with me after twisting, Mio is still waiting." Osvid turned his head and walked towards the center of the scattered land.

"What are you doing?" Kevin chased after him in confusion and followed him to a store made of huge stones.

The owner of the store turned on the lights and was holding his chin, and said to Mio lazily: "Two sets of seven silver coins, no bargaining, you can get a 20% discount for those from the Golden Lion Empire and 10% discount for Leiyin City."

Mio was holding two sets of clothes, one big and one small, and blinked: "Why?"

The boss lady: "Because it is generally good-looking."

Mio suddenly felt excited: "Look at me, yes, just my face, how much discount can I get?"

The boss lady was very disrespectful: "I don't like natural rolls. If you talk nonsense, I will give you a price increase."

Mio: "…"

The little lion standing beside his legs said, "Sister, look at me, can I get a discount?"

The boss lady glanced at him sideways and said, "You can clean up your bird's nest first, but for the sake of your call to sister, I will give you a 30% discount."

Kevin twitched his lips and grabbed Osvid: "I'm so interested. I've even started shopping in the clothes store. Did you let me?"

Osvid took out his sleeve arrogantly, patted it, and said, "You, and the little boy inside, if you wore this dress that had rolled a few layers of mud in front of me, I will order someone to fork you to the city wall and hang it for half a month."

Kevin: “…It’s amazing to be an emperor, right?”

Osvid lost a hard "right" and raised his hand to push Kevin into the door. He probably couldn't stand the clothes. When he pushed, his hands loosened as soon as he touched it, as if his fingers would be rotten after leaving for a few more seconds.

When the boss's eyes swept over Kevin, it lit up: "I will not bargain when I come here, and I will give you a 50% discount on your face."

Then he looked at Osvid again and said with a smile: "You have a 50% off too. If you can let me touch your muscles, I will give you a 30% off."

Osvid: "…"

Kevin smiled and said, "At most he just became an adult, you can do it too?"

"Fuck, you're just adult!" Osvid said with a tense face.

Mio said: "You...he is twenty-one!"

Kevin said perfunctorily: "Oh, so big."

"Shut up!" Osvid grabbed Mio's clothes and stuffed them into Kevin's arms with heavy hands and feet. "Hurry up and change your rag, otherwise I'll tear it apart."

Kevin gave him a blank look and entered the fitting room with his clothes.

Mio was paying for money, and his expression was hard to describe: "..." He actually rolled his eyes at the emperor. He was so stupid that he grew up eating bear bile!

While Kevin was changing his clothes, Osvid sent Mio to buy horse vultures.

"Don't you have no intention of buying it?" Mio almost thought he had understood the wrong meaning.

"Now," Osvid said lukewarmly: "He removed the carriage door and sat in a ghost! Oh, by the way, just buy one. If he doesn't pay for the door, he tied it up with a rope and let him run back to Sant'Antis."

As soon as Kevin came out of the fitting room, he was confused by the emperor's malice: "..."

Mio always felt that these two people could fight at any time, so he hurriedly pulled the little lion with his purse and ran away without looking back.

Kevin couldn't help but wonder: "When will that bastard get better with Mio?"

"There is no bad habit of beating someone if you can't make any sense." Osvid laughed lukewarmly, glanced at Kevin again, and said, "What is the origin of that child?"

Kevin pretended to be stupid: "Ah?"

The two walked all the way to the Crow's Nest and the abandoned temple. Osvid squinted his eyes and swept the houses and shops on the side, and said, "You make up the lies to fool Mio, don't repeat it. I heard the boy muttering about finding someone, but his family members, and he doesn't match your words."

Kevin also heard the little lion mention this, but he didn't have time to ask about it. After all, he didn't expect the subsequent development to be like this. Just as he was thinking about how to answer Osvid, a group of people were walking in a loud manner not far away, and their conversation vaguely reached Kevin's ears.

"Is this really okay? After all, I want to send something from the Golden Lion Kingdom."

"You care so much, the palace... The young master is happy. Besides, that old guy is missing a hand and broken leg, are you really taking the gift?"

"So many emperors in the Golden Lion Kingdom are obedient. What are the new emperors who have just succeeded? He will accept whatever we send..."

After listening to those conversations, Kevin didn't miss much, and his face suddenly became dark after hearing this.

Kevin has not come many places like the scattered place, but he is not unfamiliar with it. He can name most stores and know what he does. For example, the store where people flocked into it is a black casino. People who are mixed inside can gamble and dare to play anything.

Kevin and Osvid looked at each other, and without saying a word, they stuck behind the group of people and followed into the store.

"People from the Northern Jade Country." Kevin stared at the people for a while, and whispered in Osvid's ear: "I just don't know what they are talking about-"

Before he could finish his words, the people gathered in the casino suddenly started to make a fuss, clamoring and whistling.

Kevin and Osvid relied on their height advantage and looked over a row of heads.

I saw that surrounded by everyone a huge round iron cage, with a steel ring on my neck, the Grimmed black-eared wolf was turning around excitedly, his eyes were red and his terrifying fangs were barking. It was extremely sturdy, about two people were the size of a standing person, and it was obviously not an ordinary beast.

On the other end of the iron cage, someone was pushing a dirty adult lion into the cage.

The man was one of the people who spoke at the door just now, and the reason why he used it was because the lion, who was "to be given as a gift to the Golden Lion Empire" was a disabled person.

It had a terrifying scar on its face, which ran across from its left eye to its right eye, and was completely blind. One of its front paws was also injured and was extremely lame. It could not stand up even if it was half-kneeling and was pushed into the cage.
