Chapter 1 Eat fish(1/2)
The tenth year of Tianbao, July.
Cheng'an County.
Dark clouds were rolling in the sky, and the world was gloomy and cold.
On the scorched land, a dead tree stood alone on the edge of the road. The crow on the dead tree tilted its head and stared faintly ahead.
A man stood on the side of the road. His whole body was stained by mud. He was completely black and his hair was mixed together, covering his head. His facial features could not be seen, and his age could not be seen from his rickety body.
The skinny and dirty body was just exposed, completely naked, and every rib almost broke the skin on the abdomen.
His legs moved unnaturally, moving forward a little bit, and the shrunken thing under his crotch swayed as he moved forward.
The sound of heavy horse hooves was heard in the distance, and the ground shook slightly.
The man turned around.
Three tall and strong war horses carrying their masters galloped down the road.
The war horse was covered with heavy armor, woven from pieces of iron chains. Even the horse's head was covered with iron chains and was supported by a fan-shaped iron.
As the horses ran, the chains made a heavy clanking sound.
The owner of the war horse was also covered in heavy armor, with three black feathers on his head, and his face was covered with a copper-colored mask, which showed a strange smile.
Extraordinarily penetrating.
When the two sides met, the knight held a ring-headed sword and turned sideways, making a chopping gesture.
"Puch!"
"Gah~~~"
The crow let out a sharp and piercing cry, fluttered its wings and flew into the sky.
The knight put away his sword and disappeared down the road.
Only a headless corpse was left, standing in the distance, blood gushing feebly from the neck, then he knelt down and fell heavily.
The crow flew across the road, and many scenery flashed past its eyes. The last thing reflected in its eyes was a fast-flowing river.
Zhangshui.
A lone fishing boat struggled hard in the turbid waters of Zhangzhou.
Four or five older children were standing on the fishing boat, taking back the fishing nets.
The water flow was rapid, and the water splashed continuously against the broken fishing boat. The fishing boat groaned and the bumps became more serious.
But the children stood firm and shouted something loudly.
The Zhangshui River has a grayish-yellow color, making it difficult to see the scenery in the river.
It seemed as if an unspeakable shadow passed around the fishing boat, and bursts of water splashed on the fishing boat.
The children struggled to pull up the fishing net, but the harvest was not much. The children hurriedly dug through the mud, and small fish flipped their bodies and slapped the deck, their dull gray eyes were cold.
Zhang Erlang squatted in the middle, dug through the mud, and grabbed a big fish.
He was about to say something with a smile, when suddenly, his peripheral vision caught something.
"ah!!"
He suddenly dropped the fish in his hand to the ground, took two steps back in horror, lost his balance in an instant, and fell towards the Zhangshui behind him.
Everyone was frightened by this turn of events and were stunned.
A strong big hand grabbed Zhang Erlang's neck. The hand was so big that it seemed to cover Erlang's entire face, and the big hand pulled him up.
After being dragged up, Erlang knelt on the board of the boat, covering his throat and gasping for air.
He raised his head and saw the person who had just rescued him.
This man is young, less than twenty years old.
He is tall and can occupy the space of three or four people by himself. His short clothes are bulging and he is powerful. He holds a fishing fork in his left hand. His face is as dark and rough as a knife. The fishing boat is constantly swinging, but he is as calm as a mountain.
He stood on the boat, motionless.
At this moment, he was looking down at Zhang Erlang with his head lowered.
"What's wrong?"
"Brother Taozi...fish...that fish..."
Zhang Erlang pointed to the fishing net tremblingly.
Liu Taozi glanced at the fishing net and said, "Get to the shore."
The children were very obedient, and they quickly picked up the oars and started driving towards the shore as hard as they could, but the water was holding them tightly, not wanting them to escape.
After rowing for a long time, everyone was in a hurry, and the fishing boat finally arrived at the shore.
The fishing boat was secured and a group of people quickly got off the boat.
Liu Taozi pulled out the fishing net alone and threw it hard on the ground.
Zhang Erlang stood aside carefully and identified the big fish. Liu Taozi picked up the fish and looked at it carefully.
He grabbed something out of the fish's mouth.
A curved finger.
Liu Taozi put her fingers aside and continued to rummage in the mud.
Soon, the loot was piled high.
Fingers, ears, and a half-eaten human head. The head was very small, slightly larger than Liu Taozi's fist.
"Ugh~~~"
Several teenagers around him couldn't bear it anymore. They bent over and vomited.
Liu Taozi didn't know how long he had been rummaging. He stood up and looked to the left, where the human remains were piled up.
"Erlang, we won't be using the fishing boat for the time being. When your grandfather comes back, tell him not to fish for the time being."
"This fish cannot be eaten."
Liu Taozi said.
Zhang Erlang nodded.
Liu Taozi signaled to the rest of the group and was about to leave.
Zhang Erlang suddenly shouted: "Brother Taozi! What should we do with these fish?!"
"Buried."
"Gah~~~"
A shrill crow of crows came from mid-air.
Liu Taozi paused, raised her head, and saw a crow flying past.
The sound of horse hooves was heard in the distance, and the ground shook slightly.
The teenagers were shocked and took a few steps back.
Three knights wearing strange masks, riding horses, galloped towards them from a distance.
When the horses charged with all their strength, the ground shook and the mountains shook. The teenagers tried to get away, but their legs were so weak that they couldn't even take a step forward.
The war horse rushed all the way in front of Liu Taozi. The knight reined in the horse, and the war horse lowered its head, its face almost touching Liu Taozi's face.
The angry breath of the war horse blew Liu Taozi's long hair.
Liu Taozi and the war horse looked at each other, motionless.
There was blood seeping out of the package hanging on the horse's waist.
The knight looked at the people in front of him, focusing on their necks and counting their heads.
"γ?r q?r?qa!k??r?"
The leader looked at the person on the left and said.
The children looked at each other for a few times. This was Xianbei dialect and they didn't understand it.
Liu Taozi took a step back, lowered her head towards them, and said, "p?r??rg?n."
The three knights suddenly stared at Liu Taozi, and the leader laughed, "Chinese?"
"Han people."
"Oh....what do you do?"
"We are local fishermen and we fish here."
The knight's eyes fell on the open space not far away, and he saw the fishing nets and the trophies on the side.
"The harvest was good, but why were those fish left there?"
"Why don't you eat it?"
To be continued...
