Chapter Sixteen: The Night of the Alien
Although she had guessed the development of the situation, she didn't know where to find the source. She could only chase the stinky smell of ghouls all over the city and kill every corrupt monster she encountered. Francis was a spectator behind the scenes. He grew up so old that for the first time he realized that he was not as good as a woman.
Is she a woman? After witnessing Antonia move the ghoul's head with a light wave, Francis became suspicious of his companion's identity. The critical situation did not allow him to ask questions. The Knight pressed his doubts and pulled his horse's head to turn right at the intersection to keep up with Antonia who was too far ahead. The two got rid of the narrow and dark alleyway that was not conducive to the horse galloping and came to a square. This square called Mayflower is a market in the city. There were many stalls with tarpaulins on the open space, all of which were placed around a small marble flower bed.
Because of the curfew, there should be no talent in the market, and there shouldn't be so many dark shadows wandering around the open-air shops.
There is indeed no "people". The moonlight illuminates the protruding bone spurs on the bare spine. It is a permanently hungry ghoul looking for food and drink on the stall. After all, it is a scavenger, and timidity is nature. If you are a little likely, you will avoid conflicts with living people. However, the half-human and half-corpse monsters will always grow with the number. Two horses will definitely be more delicious than the empty broken wooden box. The black shadow surrounded him and the knight jumped off the horse and drew out his sword. He dealt with creatures with too strong jumping ability. It would be a disadvantage on the horse's back. If the horse fell down and was suppressed, it would be a disaster.
There were no less than twenty ghouls in front of him, and more were hiding in the dark corners that were invisible. The knight walked to Antonia and reached out to hold the reins. He was worried that the horse would be frightened by the stinky ghouls and threw Antonia off.
Antonia glanced at him and hesitated for a long time whether to dismount. Although she still came down, it seemed more like to accommodate Francis for the sake of practicality and treat the Knight as a weak person who needs care.
The knight held a sword in his right hand and raised his left hand. Without a shield helmet, he could only resist with his arm and armor. As for Miss Antonia, the knight did not understand her combat skills, and seemed to be relying on her strength to do it. The drooling ghoul walked very slowly, not knowing whether it was because she was afraid of the fully armed knight, or whether she was playing a cruel pre-meal game. The enemy was too small, and Francis was too nervous. Antonia didn't look at the enemy in front of her. She raised her head, as if the stars in the night sky were more worthy of concern. The knight couldn't help but look up, and the strange actions of the two even caused the ghoul to imitate.
Just a little far ahead, perhaps the church behind the square, a red light rose up from the ground, dyeing the dark night into deep purple. Francis' eyes chased the red light, watching it hit the clear night sky hard, and made a huge hole on it. The light thrown from the crack was also bright red, gradually blending with the red light itself.
"What is that?" He felt Antonia knew for no reason.
The person asked the question did not say a word, staring at the crack intently. The dark night sky had a blood-red wound, which colored the clouds on both sides. The ghoul's heads could not consider too complicated issues. They were a low-level creature living in the present. They lost interest in the "strange weather" above their heads, and the fresh meat in front of them was even more pleasing to their appetite.
The brief confrontation ended, and the ghoul rushed forward. The knight stood in front of Antonia, who seemed to be possessed by the sky. The first monster rushed straight to the front, and it was also the largest among the ghouls. The knight raised his sword and used a downward slash to solve the battle. The death of his companion's head made other ghouls cautious, and stopped not far away to surround the two of them, forcing the knight to make mistakes with a numerical advantage.
Francis had no time to think, and was forced to follow the ghouls around, faster than his opponent. Antonia stared at the sky in a daze, indifferent to everything around her. Two ghouls rushed over from the left, and with a long sword, the monster could not hold back and was cut off. As soon as he repelled the attack, the knight immediately turned around and faced the ghoul who was trying to attack him. Antonia stood straight in the middle and got in the way. He couldn't just use the sword to cut it with his sword, so he had to wipe Antonia's chest and punch the monster's face.
The ghoul facing the front also joined in the fun. The knight was able to use both hands and feet, and actually defended his position. However, with his super-level performance, his physical strength also decreased rapidly. Francis was panting and his palms were so slippery that he couldn't grasp the hilt of the sword. He was a tough guy in the traditional sense. From beginning to end, he never called Antonia, silently fulfilling his duties as a guardian of the knight.
"Here you come."
He heard Antonia whisper, as if he was talking to himself.
The knight is surrounded by monsters. A slight distraction means death, but a whistle above forces him to see it. In fact, not only the knights, even the ghouls cannot be ignored.
There is no longer only light coming out of the crack, but much worse than the darkness, as if the craters were hit, and the chaotic swarms surged out of the nest. When the height dropped slightly lower, the "bee swarm" gradually disintegrated, and some of them fell to the ground at the speed of free fall.
The heavy rain of death poured in, causing the first round of damage to the city.
The market is only half a block away from the church that emits red light, and it is inevitable that the "black rain" will be affected. With a much stronger sense of smell and night vision than humans, the ghoul can see clearly what the hell is falling down.
The ghouls who were besieging the two turned around and disappeared into the alley. The remaining kind of people were in a panic. Several of them almost hit the knight. Francis stood firmly with his legs apart, protecting Antonia in the wave of the ghoul's escape.
Being knocked down by a ghoul became an unnecessary problem. The creature with wings on his back fell on the square and crushed the marble flower bed. Only then did the knight see clearly what it was, a Balo Flame Demon with a stunning body! He walked out of the illustrations of "The Holy Book" and lived in a vibrant and powerful manner in front of him.
Terra! How do I deal with the terrifying demon! The knight's long sword is not as thick as the demon's forearm. The flame demon shook the cow's head and shook off the dizziness caused by falling to the ground. It can fly with its wings, but in this way, it cannot experience the pleasure of destruction. The demon was very disappointed. It stared at this place when it was still in the sky. There were so many living creatures who thought they could kill well.
However, except for this man and a woman, the ugly ghouls ran away without a trace.
The flame demon raised his hand, and a long sword as thick as a beam appeared in its hand. As if it was not enough, sparks burst out from the sword grid, and the flames gradually spread and wrapped around the sword body. With just one wave of the demonstration, it was still dozens of steps away from the knight. The heat wave had burned Frances, making him unable to help retreat.
For the Knights, a wise retreat is not a shame. There are several forks nearby, and they can also be done if they want to escape. "Miss Antonia?" He turned around.
The "Miss" disappeared, an existence that was much terrifying than the demon stood behind him, with a slender neck surpassing the tallest building on the street, and its thick limbs stomped on the cobbled street. Its body was larger and stronger than that of the demon, so that the width of the street could not be accommodated, and the houses on both sides were squeezed and whine.
Francis' knees were weak, and he stood there in a desperate situation, sandwiched between the demon and the dragon, and the mortals had no way out. But he could choose to die with dignity, and the knight closed his eyes and waited for the verdict of fate.
"Get out of the way, Francis." The dragon spoke, and it turned out to be a female voice.
