Chapter 17 Adventure in the Tree Cave
The griffin that swooped over actually stood still outside the door of the wooden house. It seemed that this ordinary wooden house had some magical power that prevented it from being easily offended.
But in fact, this was just a simple wooden house with a bed of hay and wooden barrels and bowls on the ground. In Juan's opinion, it was not fundamentally different from the elf wooden houses he had seen before.
"Ouch~!"
The gryphon roared at Juan through the door, and kept taking small steps, as if hesitating whether to rush in or not.
(Elvish) "Tris, didn't I tell you, keep your 'kitten' away. If it keeps roaring like this, it will wake up the people."
(Elvish) "Yes, sister, I have told it before to stay away. Something probably happened. How about I go up and take a look?"
(Elvish) "No, don't go. Don't worry about that 'big cat'. The ceremony has reached its final moment. I need you."
In order to talk to the elves, Juan had already opened the translation software before entering the woods and downloaded the Elvish language of humanoid creatures.
So he understood the elf conversation coming from behind the wooden house.
But are there elves hiding in such a small wooden house?
Going around the screen, Juan saw a tree hole as wide as one person on the wall against the trunk of the World Tree, and the sound came from there.
Juan looked inside. It was very dark inside, and he couldn't tell how wide or deep it was. There seemed to be a glistening green light coming from underneath.
Behind him, the gryphon was still roaring at the door, seeming to be losing its patience.
(Elvish) "Sister, what do I need to do next?"
(Elvish) "It's very simple, just jump into the pool."
(Elvish) "But I'm not old enough to have children yet."
(Elvish) "Tris, what I want you to do now is very important to our Baenre family, to the tree elves, and to the World Tree!"
(Elvish) "But I'm still young!"
(Elvish) "According to human calculations, you are all a leftover girl!"
(Elvish) "But according to our customs, I'm not old enough to get pregnant yet!"
(Elvish) "I don't care about that anymore. Tris, have you seen what the demon did to us?"
"He accused us without any reason, saying that we planned the elven uprising, and forced us to hand over the instigators behind the scenes.
"This is completely untrue, but he didn't listen to our well-founded excuses at all.
"In the end, all the elders had to sacrifice their lives to quell the demon's anger.
"This time he was satisfied, but what about next time? What about next time?
"We can't live like this anymore. We must move as a family, as far away from that devil as possible."
(Elvish) "I know, sister, you are right, those humans are so abominable!
“But how can we migrate?
"Even if we tree elves can leave, the World Tree will not leave.
"Without the World Tree, we tree elves are no longer tree elves."
(Elven language) "So I called on all the tree elves, gathered everyone's spiritual power, and started this ceremony. Now, all I need is you to walk into this pool..."
"Ouch~!"
The gryphon at the door put its paw in, retracted it, and then put it in again, as if to confirm something.
(Elvish) "Sister, I will get pregnant that way. I don't want to get pregnant. I heard it's very painful."
(Elvish) "No, it won't hurt at all, it will only make you feel happy."
(Elvish) "Then sister, why don't you go down?"
(Elven language) "I am a queen and I need to move with my whole family. There are many things to do. A big belly will make things very troublesome!"
(Elven language) "Then why not let other elves in the clan go down and let those adult elves who have had childbirth experience get pregnant? Wouldn't it be more convenient?"
(Elvish) "No! Tris, it must be the Baenre family! This is related to our Bare family's rule over the tree elves!
"We must not leave such an important matter to other elves and give other families a reason to surpass us!"
(Elvish) "But there are only two of us left in the Baenre family, so what's the point..."
(Elvish) "No but, Tris, I am your sister, the sister who loves you and takes care of you, will I still harm you?"
"Ouch~!"
The gryphon roared and squeezed its body into the door frame, crushing the door frame and the thin wall panels into pieces.
In its red eyes, only the desire for killing and revenge remained.
Juan got into the tree hole without hesitation.
In the darkness, he seemed to have stepped on the body of an elf, but he didn't hear anyone shouting in pain.
Huan stumbled and staggered forward a few steps, when suddenly he felt that his feet were empty.
He saw an almost circular pool, the liquid inside was green and glowing.
Next to the pool is a spiral upward slope, which is close to the tree trunk and is very narrow. It looks like it should be a man-made passage dug out of the hollow tree trunk.
These passages are now filled with elves, one by one, all with their eyes closed, probably thinking about life.
The "whooshing" cool breeze passed by Juan, carrying the coolness of herbs.
The mournful music in the barrage turned into a chorus, and the neatly arranged "Chrysanthemum Broken Flowers" were mixed with a few mismatched exclamations of "The wind is rustling, the water is cold" and "Ahhh".
Juan saw an elf with dark green hair on the edge of the rapidly growing pool, bringing another elf with emerald green hair slightly shorter than her to the edge of the pool.
Then "dark green hair" pushed "emerald green hair" on the shoulder with a palm.
And "emerald green hair" suddenly squatted down, quickly grabbed the palm of "dark green hair" that protruded from her shoulder, threw it over her shoulder, and threw "dark green hair" into the pool that exuded a gleaming green light.
.
"Thump, thump."
Almost immediately following the "dark green hair", Juan plunged into the green pool with a gesture that scored absolutely zero points in the diving competition.
The violent impact was enough to shatter Juan's internal organs, turning him into a pile of minced meat in an instant.
But he didn't feel any pain.
An almost vast will washed over his mind, seeming to completely whitewash and occupy his brain.
Juan cannot think or feel, and his sense of self is like a dandelion dancing in the wind.
However, this torrent of consciousness comes and goes just as quickly, like soup scooped up with a colander with hundreds of thousands of holes. It disperses into hundreds of thousands of portions and dissipates in the vaster starry sky.
I don't know how much time passed, probably ten minutes, after all, that's what the brain chip showed, and Juan woke up.
He saw that the liquid in the pool had disappeared, and he and an elf with dark green hair were lying on top of each other at the bottom of the pool in a posture inappropriate for children.
He's up there.
