Chapter 8 Carlos Oliveira
The man was a little familiar, and he couldn't stop talking when he took Luo Guang and Jill to the Central Street Metro Station.
The man called himself Carlos Oliveira, and was indeed a soldier from Umbrella's emergency response force for the Resident Evil, responsible for heavy fire support and rear guard in the team.
Not long after Carlos joined this army, he was still a recruit in U.B.C.S., but Carlos himself was also a person who had experienced the war.
Not long after he joined U.B.C.S., the first battle faced such a big scene, which made him complain to Jill and Luo Guang a few times, but Carlos was still optimistic to show off to Luo Guang and the others how many civilians he helped and saved.
When Jill knew that Carlos was the private army of Umbrella, he could be said to be instinctive, and instantly felt distrust of Carlos, even though Carlos had just saved him and Luo Guang.
He looked at Luo Guang, who was unidentified, and seemed to have no reaction to Carlos' identity. In the end, Jill still kept his inner doubts in his heart, but he had more considerations when he acted.
After all, Wisk, who betrayed back then, was a member of Umbrella Company.
Seeing that Jill and Luo Guang were not interested in his boasting, Carlos couldn't help feeling a little bored, but considering the horror monsters they encountered before, Carlos didn't have a good time to complain, so he started talking about survival.
"Our team has established a temporary shelter at the subway station and is organizing survivors to leave the subway station, but as for the current situation, it is a bit difficult." Carlos knew that neither of them was interested in talking and did not keep it in the dark, and continued: "The subway at the subway station has a power outage. Although there is an emergency power supply inside, the subway train will not work after the power outage in the main control room.
According to the report of the investigative team members, it seems that something went wrong with the substation."
"I was assigned to the task of contacting and rescue, and I encountered that you two were being attacked by that monster." Carlos briefly explained his situation and added: "Since you two have met you, take you back to a safe place."
Carlos didn't seem to know Jill, he was indeed a recruit from U.B.C.S. and thought Luo Guang and both were civilians, and happened to meet the monster he had seen for the first time.
"After all, our U.B.C.S. was founded to solve this terrible crisis, and no matter what, I am proud of my behavior in this disaster."
Carlos was unaware of the Umbrella company, so he was very proud of his job. At least he had indeed saved the civilians who had escaped.
However, this seemed to be provoking Jill's nerves. Jill frowned when he heard Carlos say that his team was protecting civilians. When he heard Carlos say that U.B.C.S. was founded and his pride, he finally couldn't help but lower his voice, as if a volcano was about to erupt, and said angrily: "This..."
"Carlos, do you know how this disaster happened?" Seeing this, Luo Guang interrupted Jill with a slightly higher voice.
Luo Guang didn't want the two to part ways because of a quarrel. He wanted to follow Carlos directly to the Central Street subway station, but he didn't want to reduce Jill's favor for him. Jill is a person who will rush to his friends. In this raccoon city, as a teammate, he is trustworthy than most people.
"Eh?" Although Jill didn't say anything, Carlos still saw anger and suspicion on Jill's face. He looked at the angry Jill with confusion. When he was about to say something, he was caught off guard by Luo Guang's question. After a moment of stunned silence, he said: "We don't know that the order we received was to go to Raccoon City to save survivors and eliminate terrible monsters as much as possible. Our troops even cooperated with R.P.D. and had several annihilation battles with the military, but the effect was not very good. It was impossible to stop the zombies from moving south into the city center."
Carlos wanted to tell Jill loudly that in those battles, the members of U.B.C.S. also sacrificed a lot, no matter what their purpose of joining U.B.C.S., they died to save Raccoon City.
And Jill was also rescued by U.B.C.S. himself.
However, in the end, Carlos's throat moved and he still couldn't say anything.
Although Carlos didn't say it, what Jill saw from Carlos's turning head was the anger that Jill insulted himself and his teammates.
After the incident in the Western Paradise, I should have had this expression when I contradicted the director.
Jill was interrupted by Luo Guang, and heard Carlos's uninformed speech again. Finally, he let out a deep breath and suppressed the anger that surged up to his head, but he still said in a thorny tone: "I have no intention of insulting you and those teammates who died, but these are biochemical monsters created by Umbrella."
"What?" The angry Carlos was shocked by Jill's words, and then said with disbelief: "Miss, you can't talk nonsense. Do you have any evidence?"
After Jill said this, Carlos could understand why Jill felt angry and suspicious after knowing that he was U.B.C.S., even if he had just saved her.
"I..." Jill was speechless in an instant. He was secretly collecting evidence of Umbrella's company, but the evidence collected had been burned in the apartment. Jill did not think that Carlos, as a recruit, knew about the information about the Western Paradise incident.
When Carlos saw Jill's expression, he instantly knew that there was no evidence, but the other party's expression did not look fake, so Carlos still said considerately: "It seems that Jill, you have a lot of conflicts with our company, but without evidence, it is difficult to convince people that this Ambrare company will personally destroy the raccoon city that it has invested and built."

"Oh..." Jill also understood that the other party was giving a step to himself, but when he thought of Brad who sacrificed, Jill couldn't swallow this. In addition, for Carlos, who was determined to save the survivor, Jill couldn't bear to see the other party being used by Umbrella Company without knowing anything.
"Things have happened. Whether it was done by Umbrella or not, our current goals are the same." Seeing that both of them were angry, Luo Guang came out to smooth things over.
"That's right." Carlos was a little grateful to Luo Guang who came out to smooth things over. He immediately expressed his agreement after hearing Luo Guang's words, and then said to Jill with a serious look on his face: "Jil, what kind of team we U.B.C.S. is, just confirm with your own eyes.
And I will confirm what you said about our company with my own eyes.
In order to survive in this hell, let us put aside this argument for the time being."
"Okay." Jill was helpless, but agreed with Luo Guang and the others and nodded.
The location where Luo Guang and Jill met was actually very close to Central Street Metro Station.
While speaking, under the leadership of Carlos, the three of them arrived at the entrance of the Central Street Metro Station and opened the iron gate under the cover of Luo Guang and Jill.
Carlos took the lead in, then used his arms to lift the iron gate and let Luo Guang and Jill come in quickly.
Luo Guang had no more than a lady's priority, after all, this iron gate was enough for two people to enter at the same time.
After Luo Guang and Jill entered left and right, Carlos quickly closed the iron gate, listened to the movement outside a little, and confirmed that it was safe, then led Luo Guang and Jill to the subway train where their captain was.
When going down the stairs, Carlos turned around and instructed Jill: "If you said before, don't tell my boss, he has a bad temper."
Jill nodded silently without replying.
......
"Captain Victor, I came back with two survivors I met on the road. Regarding the task of contacting the rescue site, I found a complete radio station for contact, but I couldn't use it without power supply. I still have to solve the problem on the substation."
Carlos spoke first after entering, and also introduced his captain's name.
There was only one person sitting on the subway chair in the entire carriage, and he should be the captain Carlos mentioned.
Captain Victor looked quite old, with pale hair and wrinkles on his face, but Luo Guang could still see the powerful muscles hidden under the military uniform.
When Luo Guang and others entered, Captain Victor seemed to have just changed medicine for his wound, and there was a pile of blood-stained bandages beside him.
Looking at Captain Victor's right abdomen, he should be the injury, but he just didn't know what caused it.
However, Captain Victor ignored Carlos' words and said to Jill: "Oh? Isn't this the former S.T.A.R.S. elite member Jill Valentien, who has been trained by the Delta Special Forces?"
Carlos also had an impression of the name of S.T.A.R.S., but after all, he joined U.B.C.S. and came to Raccoon City shortly after, so he didn't know some important information.
"Recruitment, don't you think you brought a weak chicken back?" Before Jill could respond, the captain looked at Carlos and attacked: "This person is not an ordinary survivor, but a survivor of the Western Paradise incident."
Carlos didn't know much about the Western Paradise incident and asked a little strangely: "But weren't the parties involved in that incident wiped out? Ah..."
Then Carlos remembered why he had an impression of the name S.T.A.R.S., but this was an hour of temporary lessons before Carlos went out of the mission, and the relevant information he read was not confidential core information.
Thinking about what he said just now was too rude to the survivors. When Carlos was about to explain to Jill, Captain Victor deliberately said: "The initial investigation report said that no survivors were found, but later we found that there were survivors, and the investigator submitted a new report again, Carlos, you have not finished reading the report on the incident in the Western Paradise."
"Yes, because there is not enough time."
Although Carlos joined U.B.C.S. not long, Captain Victor still grasped Carlos and knew that with Carlos' personality, he would only take a rough look at the information before leaving.
Captain Victor is a captain-level position after all. Compared to Carlos's details and the real situation of the Western Paradise incident, he did not have the obligation to explain to Carlos. After looking at the watch on the inside of his left wrist, Captain Victor said: "We don't have time to procrastinate. Since the plan to request rescue from the headquarters failed, most of the team members have already MIA... Then we will evacuate the Raccoon City through the subway as planned."
"I received it, there are brothers who restored electricity... are they back?" The teammates responsible for restoring electricity set out much earlier than Carlos, but now Carlos is back, and the teammates who restored electricity have not returned yet, and the power has not been restored.
Therefore, it is a bit difficult for Carlos to speak of, but for Michel Victor, who has rich experience in joining the army, he is already used to it.
With a firm face on his face, Victor did not show sadness, but his voice became much lower, and he said, "Their mission is likely to fail. Please trouble Jill Valentian for the matter there."
"What?" Carlos was puzzled, but after a moment, his face showed surprise. The captain actually pushed the task to a civilian.
Jill suddenly understood what trouble Captain Victor was talking about, but Jill did not hesitate. He just glanced at the civilians walking in the next carriage and agreed: "Okay, what should I do?"
"Captain, I don't agree. How can civilians do such dangerous work?" Although Jill expressed his agreement, Carlos did not agree.

"Carlos, she is from an elite team and is also a survivor of the Western Paradise incident. How to live in the current Raccoon City is much more experienced than you."
When Victor saw Jill, he thought of letting Jill complete the task of restoring electricity. The reason why he mentioned Jill's deeds when he met was to make Carlos, the silly boy, understand that Jill is not a vase.
Luo Guang, the "invisible man" who was listening to the three of them chatting, heard Victor's straightforward request and Jill agreed to the other party's task without thinking. He couldn't help but feel a little strange. He really dared to say and the other dared to answer.
Victor continued to explain: "And we have a serious shortage of personnel in U.B.C.S., and there are civilians who need our protection here. We must use any useful combat power."
"Carlos, it's not the time to pay attention to these things. As a member of S.T.A.R.S., it's my duty to protect civilians." Jill said very seriously. Although he was unhappy about the U.B.C.S. people pushing things to himself, Jill saw other civilians on the train. For these people, Jill also took on this task and completed it.
Seeing Jill so persistent, and his captain's recognition of Jill's ability in his words, Carlos finally let go and said, "Be careful, and take this."
Carlos took out a walkie-talkie from behind, adjusted the channel, handed it to Jill, and said, "You go to the substation first and let the electricity supply, then go to the subway office to set up the route. If there is anything, please contact us through this. There is also an exit to the subway station exit B."
"Okay." Jill remembered Carlos's words, took the intercom, clamped it on the belt around his waist, nodded, and left the train bravely without looking back.
"Hu..." Seeing Jill go away, Captain Victor breathed a little relieved and said to Luo Guang, who was quietly listening to the conversation between the people on the side: "Luo, I didn't expect you to stay here."
