Chapter 541: The Battle between Six Stations

No one can explain how much Heshen has. This matter has become a historical mystery in another time and space, and there are many different opinions.

The "Jiu Shen Records" says it is 54 million taels, "Zhiyuan Bi Tan" says it is more than 100 million taels, "The Grand View of Unofficial History of the Qing Dynasty" says 800 million taels of silver, and "Qing Bai Lei Chao" also holds the same statement; the most terrifying thing is "He Xiangguan Zuoyan", which actually says there are 10 billion taels. However, the above miscellaneous books that specifically record unofficial history stories were written from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.

As for the well-known "Heshen Crime Archives", this file is not a formal historical material. Since all the characters "Ning" are missing the last stroke, the writing should be during the Daoguang period (Daoguang is called Minning), which is not the first record in the Jiaqing period.

Finally, let’s talk about the archives in "Draft History of Qing Dynasty" - "Yulian Properties List". All the property on it plus a piece is equivalent to 4.85 million taels of silver in total. This is so purely a fool!

When Heshen fell, Jiaqing was full. Not to mention eating enough, it was not enough to fill his teeth.

During the nine-year war to suppress the Sichuan-Shaanxi White Lotus Sect, the Qing court invested more than 200 million taels of silver, which lasted until the fifth year after Heshen's death. So if you want to get enough Jiaqing to eat, you must have a large amount of silver to suppress the Sichuan-Shaanxi White Lotus, at least between 50 million and 100 million.

The whole process of searching Heshen’s property in history was full of strangeness, and you will understand it by looking at the schedule.

On the third day of the first lunar month of the fourth year of Jiaqing, Qianlong, who was 89, died of anger; on the eighth day of the lunar month, Jiaqing issued an edict to dismiss Heshen's position and confiscate his property; on the ninth day of the lunar month, Prince Yi Yongxuan and Prince Cheng Yongyan were ordered to search Heshen's property.

However, before the two princes arrived at Hedu, the clerk of the Interior Affairs Office had already completed the inventory of the items in Heshen's mansion and copied the property list. After a few hours, the two princes led the team had already understood the property owned by Heshen. On the tenth day of the lunar month, Jiaqing got the list of house searches without any doubts, and then "gives" Heshen to commit suicide.

The huge family business, thousands of pawn shops, large areas of land, countless antiques, arts, calligraphy and paintings, were found out in just two days? The entire search process was like a feast of "eating the worst of the households" among the people. All participants were secretive and did not mention it afterwards.

The only person in the court who dared to question was Cabinet Sar Bintu. He wrote to Jiaqing, believing that the number listed on the search list was less than one-tenth of Heshen's property, and asked to dig deep and chase him.

At first, Jiaqing ignored Sa Bintu's complaints, but unexpectedly, Sa Bintu found out from his relatives that there were four maids in Heshen's mansion who were in charge of gold and silver accounts. He believed that these four maids must have the secret of Heshen's huge property. So he submitted a memorial again, asking Jiaqing to hand over the four maids to himself for interrogation.

Jiaqing was furious and issued an edict to scold Sa Bintu.

He first said that Sa Bintu was not responsible for seizing Heshen's property, but suddenly he overused the matter and wanted to interrogate four women alone. What does it mean?!

Then he said, "Even if there is a hidden letter, I will only look down from the sky and the earth. Why do I search for it in a row? Is it almost like searching for it? Sabintu often thinks that he is the master of good goods and try this? ...... In the future, all the ministers and workers are not allowed to make a false report on Heshen's assets."

Do you understand? Jiaqing means that even if Heshen’s property is hidden, it will be placed somewhere in the world. This is quite meaningful, "There is no silver here, and anyone with a discerning eye can tell at a glance.

The so-called world is the king's land. In other words, all of those things are mine. No one is allowed to mention them in the future!

So Sa Bintu was dismissed from Jiaqing's post and demoted from the first-rank to the seventh-rank pen style. Then the official list of house searches disappeared from the Qing Palace archives.

After saying so much, many people are still curious about how much Heshen’s family property is in this time and space?

Heshen had many sources of income, including pawnshops, usury loans, bribery and gifts from subordinates, Summer Palace project, Chongwenmen's tax customs, criminal penalties, assistance fees paid by merchants in Jiangnan, and income from raiding and extermination of disobedient merchants. Due to the emergence of Zhao Xin and Beihai Town, the source of wealth has increased a lot, mainly including the military expenditure of the Qing court's large-scale military use in the Northeast and the huge profits of reselling Beihai goods.

So this matter... 800 million taels are definitely impossible, the statement of 10 billion taels is extremely absurd, and 100 million to 200 million is the number closest to the real situation.

The reason for saying this is to analyze the monetary economy during the Qianlong period.

Let me tell you, listen, think about the beginning, ahem...

From the start of the large inflow of silver in Japan in the 1640s to the 1820s when the American silver ceased to continue inflows, the total amount of gold flowing into Europe was about 2.5 million kilograms, and silver was about 90 million to 100 million kilograms; if calculated at 95 million kilograms, it was about 2.584 billion taels, or 3.618 billion Spanish silver dollars.

During this period, the total amount of silver flowing into China was 600 million taels, of which the net inflow from the Americas and Europe was 400 million taels; while the total amount of silver circulation in China during the Qianlong period was 360 million taels, and the annual income of the Qing court was only 74 million taels.

Heshen was still honest when he was an official, and he must have had personal relationships, but he would not accept bribes. This matter is clearly stated in the official history. He really started to make a fortune by investigating and prosecuting the governor of Yunnan and Guizhou Li Shiyao in the 45th year of Qianlong's reign and embezzling and dividing a large amount of property.

It has been eleven years since then, which is more than 4,000 days. Based on the 100 million household property, the average daily net income is about 25,000 taels, and 200 million is 50,000 taels. You should know that the average daily fiscal revenue of the Qing Dynasty was between 110,000 to 120,000 taels.

The money Heshen embezzled every year would not be higher than the annual income of the imperial court, and it would be impossible for even one-third. Once such a large gap in the flow of silver would have big problems with the Qing Dynasty's economy.

This chapter is not finished yet, please click on the next page to continue reading the exciting content behind! Even so, the ability to make money with Zhongtang is still very scary. Even if Zhao Xin has several gold mountains such as Lulenji, Ryuki, Hongzhiwu, Urupu Island, etc., he will be ashamed of himself!

When Helin came out of Heshen's mansion and returned to the inn, it was already past 10 o'clock in the evening. According to the rules, foreign officials could not go home before meeting the emperor, and even if they had a house in Rehe, they would not do so.

After washing up, he lay on the bed without sleep. He Lin stared at her eyes and tossed and turned until dawn. His mind was full of 100 million, 200 million, and his house was searched and beheaded, Beihai Town, Zhao Xin and other messy things were mixed up into a pot of porridge.

Although Helin was a martial artist in his career, he was also a well-read poet. Yuan Mei's works were recited in the morning and evening. He knew that when the dynasty changed, he would be doomed if he was not careful. However, Helin developed the habit of listening to Heshen since he was very young, and he knew that what his brother said was definitely right.

When he woke up in the morning, He Lin was already in a daze. He originally planned to wait outside Lizhengmen after breakfast, but while he was eating, Liu Quan's son Liu Yin ran to the inn. When he saw He Lin, he called Qian'er first and said, "Second Master, the master is spreading words inside, don't wait today. The emperor has no time to meet foreign ministers today."

"What's wrong?" He Lin blinked his red eyes, but he didn't react for a while.

Liu Yin replied with a smile: "Second Master, is there anything more important in addition to military affairs?"

Summer resort, Sizhi Bookstore.

This is where Qianlong handled daily government affairs in Rehe and summoned ministers. The surrounding corridors and water pavilions were winding and winding, the garden was quiet and green. At this time, Qianlong was sitting behind the imperial case and was discussing in detail with ministers such as Agui, Heshen, Wang Jie and other ministers about their strategies for dealing with the Northern Navy.

"What do you think you should deal with the memorandum sent by Song Yun yesterday?" Qianlong, who was 80, spoke in a low and slow manner, but his eyes were very clear and there was no turbidity at all. "Agui, tell me."

As soon as the 74-year-old minister Agui got up from the throne, Qianlong immediately said "No gift", so Agui sat down and owed her body and replied: "The method of strengthening the walls and clearing the wilderness mentioned by Songjun and Yunduan Doorji is really undesirable."

Qianlong raised his eyebrows and said, "How do you say this?"

"There have always been a saying that strong enemies have invaded, and although there is a saying that the walls are strong and clear in the wild, the people in the Khalkha land rely on grazing to live. Now in June, the grassland is fertile and fertile, and it is the time to graz. Therefore, the walls are not easy to be strong, and the wild is not easy to be clear."

"Wang Jie, what do you say?"

"I think it is better to use Mount Harachuru and Zamenchaheer Ridge north of Taradoland as the place where the enemy is attacked, and lure the enemy southward, and let the left deputy general of Dingbian lead four troops to detour through the Donu Ulianghai and cut off the enemy's rear route along the West Chaktu Army."

"Um." Qianlong nodded slightly after hearing this.

The so-called Chaktu West Army Station is a route from Chaktu to west to Bayanbulak Karen, northwest of Ulyasutai. It is 2,210 miles long and has nineteen Karen. Then from Bayanbulak to west, you can connect to Chahantoro Sea at Ulyasu Taipei Road Station.

Wang Jie, the Minister of War, actually did not agree with Qianlong's plan to attack the Northern Navy in Hang Aishan. Not to mention the tens of thousands of troops were working to save money, once the Taradolantai, which connected the Altai Army and Kulun, was occupied by the Northern Navy, the entire eastern line of military and food transportation channel was cut off. The troops in Suiyuan and Shanxi, Gansu could only stop south of the 400-mile Gobi, and the tens of thousands of troops stored in Ulyasutai could only rely on the Urumqi to provide supplies.

Although Urumqi has 500,000 s of grain in stock, if you go from Xinjiang, you must pass through the ancient city of Han Santai, take the Kobdo South Road Station, cross the Altai Mountains, and then head east to reach Ulya Sutai. The whole journey takes about 2,000 miles.

But it would be different if the main battlefield was set in Saierwusutai. Whether it was Suiyuan or Gansu, the arrival speed of Shanxi would be much faster, with the overall distance of about 1,600 miles. From this point of view, it can be seen that whether it was the Qing army or the Northern Navy, if it wanted to fight in the Outer Mongolia region, it would be a long-distance attack, and a thousand miles would not be a problem.

The Qing Dynasty fought with the Junggar for more than 100 years, and the places where Outer Mongolia could travel were already explored. You should know that Outer Mongolia was adjacent to the Gobi Desert in the south and the Altai Mountains in the west. Although the Hulunbuir grassland was unobstructed, there were natural obstacles to the Gobi Desert from Outer Mongolia to the south to Inner Mongolia. When the Xinjiang region went west, it was necessary to cross the Altai Mountains, and not any area could pass.

Therefore, the traffic routes in Outer Mongolia are six station lines, including four north-south lines: Kulun North Road, Ulyasu Taipei Road, Kobdo North Road, and Kobdo South Road; two east-west lines: Caktu East-West Road, and Altai Juntai.

The most important nodes on the six station lines include Chuktu, Kulun, Taradoland, Ulyasutai and Kobdo.

This means that the Northern Navy and the Qing Dynasty were actually the control of these six station lines; whoever got it would be able to control 1.8 million square kilometers of land in Outer Mongolia.

After all, it was the fourth day of the Northern Navy's attack, and it was still too late to modify the plan. So after two days of emergency discussion, the Qianlong ruler and minister finally decided to make an appointment with three armies to attack and annihilate the enemy's combat policy.

There are few generals who can control the overall situation in the Qing Dynasty. Previously, Mingliang and Qinggui were demoted because of defeat, so only one person could use Qianlong.

A Gui, a 74-year-old Grand Secretary and Minister of Military Affairs, took action again and was appointed as the Grand Secretary of the General Administration by Qianlong. He led the Eight Banners and Firearms soldiers in the capital, with a total of more than 30,000 people, leaving Zhangjiakou to head north; Lebao, the governor of Shaanxi and Gansu, led more than 40,000 people in Gansu and Shanxi, and committed suicide to Hukou to head north, and met with more than 20,000 soldiers to Suiyuan. The above three teams were called 200,000, forming the middle route, led by A Gui.

This chapter is not over, please click on the next page to continue reading! With the left deputy general of Dingbian, Baoning, as the western route, he led more than 20,000 people from the four Khalkha tribes to the Chakhantoro Sea from Ulyasutai, and along Bayanbulak to the Kukutoro Sea, attacking the rear of the Northern Navy, waiting for an opportunity to capture Chaktu. Cut the enemy's retreat.

General Fu Kang'an of Dingbei, dispatched some troops from Qiqihar, and joined Hulunbuir, with more than 15,000 Korqin troops to form an Eastern Army, exited the Xing'an Mountains and advanced westward along the Krulun River, and attacked the left wing of the Northern Navy on the side.

After Agui got off the court, he returned home, and then closed his door and did not see any guests. The old and young people and slaves at home all congratulated him. Since the defeat of Furdan City in the 50th year of Qianlong and Fukang'an was captured, Agui has not been allowed to use it. Heshen also took the blame for the injustice. He first supervised the Hegong, but gradually returned to the court in recent years and entered the military aircraft again. Now the master has become a senior secretary of the business and has become hot again.

The old Agui had no expression on his face. He first let the servants go and do whatever they should do, leaving only the grandson Na Yangui who came with him to Rehe to stay.

Na Yangui is the son of Agui's eldest son Atis, very loved by his grandfather. After serving Agui, he lit a bag of cigarettes. Seeing his serious expression, he couldn't help but ask, "Mafa, what's wrong with you?"

Agui finished smoking a bag of cigarettes, sighed, and said in a deep voice: "If I am not at home, you should study at home honestly and don't mess with anything. If I die in battle, don't hold a funeral for me in a loud voice."

Yangui's expression changed drastically, and he knelt on the ground and said, "Mafa, why did you say this? The court has produced more than 100,000 elite troops. Can't he beat the North Sea Pirates?"

Agui wanted to speak but stopped. He couldn't tell his grandson about Beihai Town. Last year, the North Navy used hundreds of cannons to attack Tsarist Russia, which was amazing and destroyed the world. How could the little firearms in the Beijing Camp be compared?
