1142. Under the Unsolved Case of the Qing Dynasty
Lord Shunzhi felt so happy and thought, "Well done to my brother, brother, I am really a real brother. You have made me a brother!" That year, he gave a big gift and amnesty to the world. He married Concubine Dong E and immediately made her a concubine. After the marriage, she was Xiaozhuang.
The Queen Mother was not very satisfied with this daughter-in-law, and there are many records in history. In fact, the key is the origin of Concubine Dong E. We will not go into details here.
After the marriage, Emperor Shunzhi loved Concubine Dong E in every possible way, and the couple was very happy. Only a month later, Shunzhi named her the imperial concubine on the grounds that she was "smart, intelligent and good-natured, and there was no one above Dong E's family".
The speed of promotion is very rare in history. On December 6th, Emperor Shunzhi also held a very grand concubine ceremony for Concubine Dong E, and issued an imperial edict of amnesty in accordance with the ceremony of canonizing a queen. In the nearly 300 years of the Qing Dynasty's history,
, this is the only time that the world was granted amnesty because of the appointment of an imperial concubine.
Later, Concubine Dong E suffered a serious illness and was ill for three years. She saw all the famous doctors in the world but could not come to any conclusion. Lord Shunzhi was sick and sought medical treatment at random, so he had no choice but to invite an eminent monk to be a magician. Who was invited? It was Yulin Xiu and Maoxi.
Master and Disciple Sen, strangely enough, perhaps because Emperor Shunzhi was pious, Concubine Dong E's illness miraculously recovered. From then on, Emperor Shunzhi only had two things to do, worship Buddha and dote on Concubine Dong E.
In 1657, Concubine Dong E gave birth to the fourth son of Emperor Shunzhi. Emperor Shunzhi was so happy that he couldn't find anything to do with it. She even considered making him a prince. However, because of her biological mother's background, she was ultimately stopped by Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang.
Two years later, the youngest son contracted smallpox. Smallpox was an incurable disease in that era. The youngest son who was loved by thousands of people did not survive. After the death of the fourth son of the emperor, Concubine Dong E fell seriously ill. Her son was infected with smallpox, and Emperor Shunzhi invited him again.
Come to Yulin, Master Xiu and his disciples went to the palace to chant sutras and pray for blessings. However, smallpox was an incurable disease. In 1660, Concubine Dong E died of the illness. Emperor Shunzhi lost all hope.
What happened later was just like what was shown on TV. He wholeheartedly converted to Buddha and begged Mao Xisen to ordain him...
It's just that the real history was different at the end. Mao Xisen was not burned to death by his master Yulinxiu. Since Emperor Shunzhi devoted his whole heart to Buddhism, how could he not know that saving one life is better than building a seven-level pagoda? He said immediately, then
No more shaving.
Later, the Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang felt that the emperor was too unsatisfactory, so she spread the news that Emperor Shunzhi had passed away. In fact, he was not dead. He died in 1661 of the following year. He also died of smallpox, a smallpox infection.
He was very capable. Unlike now, where all children are vaccinated at birth, there was no such good thing at that time. The smallpox was passed from the fourth son to Concubine Dong E, who in turn passed it on to Emperor Shunzhi.
Speaking of which, the young Kangxi was destined to succeed to the throne. In fact, he was not as great as the legend said. He was just an ordinary child. At most, he only knew a few things. But he had one problem. He had smallpox when he was young.
And he miraculously survived! The choice of emperor must be the son of Emperor Shunzhi, but Emperor Shunzhi died of smallpox, so no one can guarantee whether the other princes were infected by Emperor Amma. This
The disease has an incubation period.
It is a coincidence that Kangxi was the only one who had suffered from smallpox. If he had this disease, he would have lifelong immunity. It can be said that this throne belongs to him.
