Introduction

The M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System (M110SASS for short) is a 7.62×51NATO semi-automatic sniper rifle launched by KAC of the United States. It is now equipped with the U.S. Army. On June 12, 2008, M110SASS became one of the "Top Ten Inventions of the U.S. Army in 2007"

The M110SASS was developed to replace the M24 sniper rifle used by U.S. Army snipers, observers, designated shooters and team precision shooters. After the U.S. Army submitted the plan, it was open to participation from multiple companies, including KAC and Remington/DPMS Partnership.

As a result, KAC won on September 28, 2005 and was officially named the M110 semi-automatic sniper system (named XM110 during testing). In April 2007, the US Army Fury Task Force stationed in Afghanistan became the first unit to use the M110SASS in combat

The M110SASS is designed and produced by KAC in Titusville, Florida. KAC named the M110SASS SR-M110SASS. The entire package includes a Leupold 3.5-10x scope, a portable gun bag, a Harris detachable bipod, and a strap.

AN/PVS-14 night vision goggles, quick-release silencer, several 20-round magazines, PAL special magazine bag and a hard storage box.

The magazine release button, safety and charging handle of the M110SASS can be operated from both sides. The SR-25, Mk11Mod0 and M110SASS are all improved from the AR-10 designed by Eugene Stoner in the 1950s, while the M110SASS is improved from the SR-

The main differences between M110SASS and Mk11Mod0

Rail system: Mk11Mod0’s original KAC floating RAS rail, M110SASS uses URX rail system instead and installs folding backup mechanical rear sight/sight (BUIS)

Butt: The butt is fixed but the bottom plate of the butt is adjustable. After the XM110 was officially named M110, the bottom plate of the butt was changed to a push-type adjustment.

Flash suppressor: M110SASS can be used with quick-detachable (QD) muffler

Scope mount: M110SASS uses KAC 30mm double ring scope mount
