Chapter 77: Thoughts on Fire

The explosion exploded in the basement, and a ball of fire suddenly flew over from the side - but Duncan had already reacted before the fireball approached.

His perception was much faster than his body. The moment the abnormal energy appeared in the basement, he realized something was wrong. At this time, he didn't even bother to think about it and subconsciously raised his hand to block it!

A little burning sensation came from his fingertips, but the next second, the storm of spiritual fire was swept into the fireball with the momentum of recoiling and detonation. Duncan grabbed the fire ball from the corner of the basement out of thin air. The fiery fire was dyed with a layer of dark green almost immediately, and the bursting energy instantly became obedient and began to burn quietly in his hands.

Duncan grabbed the fireball that had turned into a dark green spirit fire, and slowly turned his head to look in the direction of the attack.

And just as his gaze turned away, the deep hound called "Adog" immediately jumped backwards suddenly, and a crack with countless shadows and black mist surged out of thin air at the ground. It jumped in without hesitation, and the black chain dragged Shirley at the same time. The latter spat hard at the side before flying into the crack, and several bullets with blood were spit on the ground by her.

The next second, a man and a dog disappeared into the basement.

When Duncan heard the movement, he looked back in surprise, but only saw the last scene of the girl's skirt falling into a crack - this strange human-dog combination ran away in a blink of an eye.

I still have a lot of questions to ask!

And this is all because of a cult with extremely strong vitality that suddenly attacked.

Duncan felt subtly unhappy. He looked in the direction of the fireball flying again. He saw the cult priest wearing a sun mask leaning crookedly in the corner of the wall, holding his last breath to maintain the posture of raising his arms. He seemed to be shocked that the fireball he summoned with all his strength was not only caught out of thin air, but even usurped his authority. He could see the dullness of his eyes through the golden mask.

"It's not a good habit to not finish the fight..."

Duncan's face was gloomy, and while muttering about a dog-swimming girl who didn't know how to finish the fight, she slowly walked towards the seriously injured and undead cult priest.

He still held the quietly burning green fireball in his hand, and the power of the fireball was quietly spreading in the basement.

As Duncan advances every step, the oil lamps and torches set up in various basements seem to be inexplicably inspired. The beating flames are dyed with a layer of dark green one after another. Under the ever- approaching gloomy flames, the sun priest wearing a mask finally felt a stronger fear than ever.

He felt that the connection between himself and the Sun God was rapidly weakening. As one light after another was "usurped", the Sun God's gaze was quickly leaving his soul like the melting of ice and snow in spring!

In the huge fear, a trembling voice finally came under the mask: "You...you are not an ordinary heretic, what exactly are you..."

The last light turned into a green soul flame. Duncan stopped in front of the priest. He lowered his head slightly, and his face looked particularly gloomy under the reflection of the spirit fire: "I was interrupted by you before I finished asking. This is very rude. Haven't your mother taught you?"

While speaking, he noticed the state of the Sun Priest.

He felt that he was wrongly blamed Shirley - half of the cult's chest had been completely deflated, and the broken ribs might have even pierced through his heart and lung lobes. This was undoubtedly fatal damage, and there was no need for a final blow in theory.

This priest is still alive because a more powerful and weird force is suffocating his life. Perhaps it is the "sun god" mentioned by these cultists.

But even so, Duncan could still clearly see that the hope of life was rapidly passing through the priest's body, and every breath of his breath became weak, and he died sooner or later.

Although I don’t know the reason, it is obvious that the blessing of the Sun God is quickly moving away from this priest.

"It seems that the blessings sent by the Sun God are not very reliable," Duncan shook his head, and said with emotion, "Your Lord has left you."

He sighed casually, but he didn't expect that this sentence stimulated the already dying priest. The latter's eyes were suddenly filled with blood, and driven by huge anger, burst out with last strength. Under Duncan's unexpected gaze, a blood-stained cloth tape suddenly took out from his sleeve!

"I offer this body to the Lord! May the holy skeleton purify the heresies in front of me!"

The priest shouted, and the dirty blood clots and internal organ fragments were covered with golden masks. He raised the "holy skeleton cloth" in his hand and offered the most thorough and craziest sacrifice to his Lord-

He sacrificed everything to him, just to ignite the holy skeleton cloth, and to die with the heresy who usurped the flames in front of him!

However, Duncan just stared at the final crazy sacrifice calmly - although the priest was shocked when he suddenly took out something from his cuff, after seeing what it was, he calmed down.

That was the strange cloth strip used by the other party to verify his "compatriot identity" when he just entered the rally. But he didn't expect that this cloth strip would have such an amazing name as "Holy Skeleton Cloth".

As Duncan expected, the Saint Boon quietly responded without any response, and the most extreme sacrifice of the cult priest before his death did not awaken any miracle.

The eyes under the mask showed a hint of confusion. The cult priest tried hard to support his body. In despair, he looked at the holy objects in his hands without any movement. He coughed up a mouthful of dirty blood again without believing in evil: "I offer this body to the Lord..."

"I guess, what you want is this."

Duncan couldn't see it anymore, so he shook his head and raised his hand to point at the blood-stained tape.

The next second, a cluster of green flames exploded!

The spirit fire ignited the holy skeleton cloth, ignited the dirty blood coughed out by the cult priest, and ignited the flesh and blood of the crazy person. The priest roared in the spirit fire with frightened anger: "No, no, no... it shouldn't be like this... the Lord will not betray you, Lord... the Lord will punish you for this strangeness... Who are you?!"

In the blazing fire, the voice of the cult priest gradually weakened and dissipated. The vitality supported by the extraordinary power could not allow him to withstand the flame that directly burned his soul - or rather, it was precisely because of the extraordinary power that he turned into ashes in the backlash of the spiritual fire.

The spirit fire finally gradually faded, and the Sun Priest leaning against the corner of the wall had been completely burned out, leaving only a set of scattered clothes and the golden mask that imitated the sun's shape.

Even the so-called "holy skeleton cloth" was burned into ashes in the flames because it acted as a "medium".

Duncan frowned.

To be honest, this is not the first time he has seen a corpse - the "sacrificial" he saw in the underground cave before and the priest who was "sacrificed" had already trained his nerves, and he was just a little surprised at this moment.

Under normal circumstances, his spiritual fire only acts on extraordinary objects. When he was on the Lost Country, he used various things to test this - extraordinary objects burned by flames will be "usurped" and become Captain Duncan's possession. If it is not an extraordinary object, even a piece of paper will not be affected by spiritual fire.

The spirit fire just now had the effect of actual burning, which was his active inspiration - he was worried that the cultist would really do something with the holy skeleton cloth, so he ordered the holy skeleton cloth to burn itself out of caution. Judging from the result, the holy skeleton cloth did indeed faithfully execute the order.

But he didn't expect that the spreading flame would burn the cult priest to ashes - this did not meet the conclusion he got after the test.

It is normal for the Holy Skeleton cloth to be burned, because it is an extraordinary item and will be affected by the fire of the spirit body;

It is normal for the cult priests to stay intact, because those clothes are obviously "mortal objects". The fire of the spirit body is like a phantom of parallel time and space, and will not have any effect - unless the clothes themselves have been possessed by demons, or some extraordinary material is mixed in the weaving process;

It was normal for the golden mask to remain intact, because Duncan was interested in this obviously extraordinary item, and immediately issued an order after the flames began to spread to prevent the mask from being damaged in the fire.

Then... why was this cult burned to ashes by the spirit fire?

Duncan squatted down with confusion and carefully inspected the gray and black ash.

It is similar to the ashes after the Holy Skeleton cloth was burned.

Duncan has never tested his spiritual fire with a living person, let alone taking the initiative to use this flame to seize human life, and this cult priest should be regarded as the first real victim under his flame.

At least, it was the first real victim under his conscious control.

Slowly, a bold idea suddenly popped up in Duncan's mind.
