Chapter 86 Legal Aid

In the following days, good news continued to come. First, the verdict was announced in the case of the little girl’s family suing Wei Ningshan. As the guardians of the murderer who killed the little girl, Wei Ningshan and his wife needed to pay more than 500,000 yuan in death compensation and emotional distress to the little girl’s parents.

Damage solatium.

The Wei Ningshan family did not appeal any of the cases.

After the death compensation case of the little girl entered the enforcement process, the court conducted a round of inquiries and found that the Wei Ningshan couple had no other property available for enforcement, so the auction process for the Wei family house also started as scheduled.

After a public bidding process, Zhao Jing and I obtained the right to purchase the house next door at the highest price. After paying more than 400,000 to the court, we further obtained ownership of the house next door, namely House No. 1502.

In addition, Zhao Jing and I decided to spend tens of thousands of dollars to buy two parking spaces in the underground parking lot of Building 3.

Zhao Jing and I hired workers from a decoration company to clear out all the items left in the house next door after it was vacated by the court, including the floor and pavilion on the terrace. We planned to redecorate it again, and then planned to renovate the corridors on the second floor on both sides.

Open it up and tear down the isolation wall on the terrace. In the future, when Zhao Jing and I get married, I, Zhao Jing's parents, ancestors, and other relatives can come and stay for a while.

Zhao Jing inquired through various sources and learned that a new building a few kilometers away from the Jinxiu Garden Community was developed by the father of her college classmate. The developer was very powerful and there should be no chance of the developer running away or being unable to obtain the property rights certificate.

So Zhao Jing and I went shopping several times and selected the entire one-staircase, two-family unit in one of the ten-story houses. We spent more than 3 million yuan to buy this unit in various sizes with part of the mortgage and part of the full payment.

There are a total of 20 existing houses, and the remaining money is planned to be used to renovate these houses and pay the initial mortgage payment. Once these houses are rented out, I can use the house to support the house and wait for the house value to appreciate or continue to be a landlord and tenant.

Po.

As for why the bank granted me a mortgage for so many houses as a student, firstly, I already have two fully-paid houses in the building under my name, secondly, the loan policy at that time was not as strict as it is now, and thirdly, Zhao Jing

We also agreed to put some of the houses in her name and use her name for loans. Fourth, classmate Zhao Jing’s father also tried his best to cooperate with us in buying these houses, so our mortgage application was successfully approved.

Zhao Jing had long thought of resigning and taking the judicial examination.

Because she was not qualified to be a lawyer, she researched the relevant examination policies.

On June 10, 2001, the 22nd Session of the Ninth National People's Congress passed a decision to amend the Judges Law and the Prosecutors Law: first-time judges and prosecutors shall adopt strict assessment methods and pass the test in accordance with the standard of having both ability and political integrity.

Qualified through the National Unified Judicial Examination.

At that time, Zhao Jing and I saw in the news that the Lawyers Law would also be revised at the end of the year, stipulating that to obtain lawyer qualifications one must pass the National Unified Judicial Examination. By then, my country's National Unified Judicial Examination system would be formally established.

We also learned that March 30 and 31, 2002, will be the first time that the National Judicial Examination will be held nationwide. For this reason, Zhao Jing simply resigned directly, one to prepare for the March 2002 Judicial Examination, and the other two

This will give you more time to take care of the decoration and other follow-up matters of the newly purchased house.

Zhao Jing and I have finished the above things together or separately, and the end of the first semester of my sophomore year has arrived as scheduled.

I did not go home this summer vacation, but continued to stay in Anping City and worked on the house.

Of course, I didn't dare to tell my parents that I bought so many houses, otherwise it would be unclear where the money came from. So I just said that there were many cases to be handled at the school's legal aid center and I wouldn't go home for the holidays.

Speaking of the school’s legal aid center, because of my relatively good grades and good popularity, I was actually recommended as the candidate for the next deputy director by my senior sister who was the director of the center and was about to graduate.

Of course, the original deputy directors cannot be appointed until the junior year of college when all the original deputy directors have graduated. Before that, I was just a small director. I was assigned to a study group with Li Jian, Song Guangfei, and Luo Chao, and I served as

Team leader.

But my legal career, if I don’t include the cases in which I am a client, has already begun.

At the beginning of the second semester of my sophomore year, our group’s first “business” came.

Our school's legal aid center obtains cases mainly through legal consultations at street vendors.

It was a Wednesday afternoon when there were no classes. Li Jian, Song Guangfei, Luo Chao, and I, along with a few fresh-faced junior girls, placed two pictures on the street near the school that were brought by the school cafeteria’s tricycle.

A table and a few chairs were hung with the blue flag of the school's legal aid center and a red banner that read "Legal Advice."

Don't ask me why, except for the people in our dormitory, there are all good-looking junior sisters. These were all arranged by Li Jian. As a person with a girlfriend, I have nothing to do with this situation.

Not long after the tables, chairs, flags, and banners were put away, a fat lady in her forties with a light red afro passed by our booth, took a look at our flags, and stopped.

Li Jian, who was joking and quarreling with a junior sister, stood up immediately and said with a smile on his face: "Auntie, do you have any legal issues that you want to consult with us?"

The eldest sister glared at Li Jian and said, "Why, do you even think I'm old?"

Li Jian quickly waved his hand and said: "Oh, I'm sorry, I should call you eldest sister!"

The eldest sister nodded and said, "That's pretty much it. Do you charge for this consultation?"

Li Jian said: "It's free, it's free. Even if you really have to file a lawsuit, we will fight it for you for free. Our legal aid center has funds. We will pay for things like transportation, typing and photocopying ourselves."

The eldest sister said: "Are you a lawyer?"

Li Jian said: "Well, not yet."

The eldest sister said: "Then how do you file a lawsuit?"

Li Jian said: "We can represent cases as citizens."

The eldest sister said: "Is it reliable?"

Li Jian said: "In addition to not having a lawyer's license, we also have relevant legal knowledge, don't you think so?"

After saying that, Li Jian winked at me, who was sitting next to me.

I nodded quickly and said, "Yes, yes, we are all the best students in the school. We guarantee to be knowledgeable and professional."

The eldest sister said: "You are still students, how can you know more than lawyers?"

I smiled and said, "But we don't charge money."
