051 Meeting an Assassin on the Road

When they hit the road again, Ning Ke was surprised to find that the car he was sitting in had been replaced by a car that was much more spacious than the previous one. The same red sandalwood table was no longer filled with chessboards, but fresh fruits and vegetables and a few poems.

Anthology.

This is probably because he is afraid that she will have another nightmare playing chess with him.

Ning Ke's heart felt warm, but in the end he just pursed his lips and put his eyes out of the car window, landing on the endless mountains in the distance.

Day and night took turns to pay attention to this tireless motorcade. The creaking wheels rolled over the ancient road, crushing the scattered memories and lovesickness along the way. The storm was about to come, and the sky was darkening from all around, and Ning felt depressed inexplicably.

Ke pulled the curtain tightly, sighing lowly with a sadness and indifference that even she couldn't feel.

"I'm afraid things are going to change." Hearing Ning Ke sigh, Rong Chu looked up from a pile of thick books. The moment his eyes first touched, Rong Chu's eyes were a little distracted, but then they were as bright as a beam.

A hint of concern came to the corner of his mouth, "Fortunately, I brought enough clothes."

Ning Ke nodded, but remained silent.

Rong Chu was not surprised. He thought it was the successive nightmares in the past few days that had greatly impacted Ning Ke's mind. He picked up a pomegranate, peeled it open and handed it to Ning Ke's hand. He said with a smile, "It's from Weishan."

Pomegranate is the most refreshing."

Ning Ke weighed the pomegranate, not eating it but not putting it down, just clenching her hands a little bit. It seemed that only by holding something firmly in the palm of her hand could she feel more relaxed.

There was still a long silence. Rong Chu smiled slightly, lowered his eyes, and once again the silence was submerged in the sound of turning the pages of the book.

The sound of horse hooves outside the car echoes monotonously in the wilderness. If you concentrate and calm down, you can still hear the moment when the horse's hooves sweep over the new grass very quickly, and the rustling sound when the grass tips are almost stagnant. Occasionally, a stone hits the shaft of the car.

There was a crisp sound, and then it was silent again in the rhythm of the armor and iron clothes. The spears were red tassels, and the violet-colored flags, but none of this made the team slightly vivid in Ning Ke's eyes.

A few more days passed by, and Ning Ke looked up out of the window and smiled, "We've arrived at Yuxi Village."

When Rong Chu heard this, he also looked out and said with a cheerful smile, "Yes, we finally arrived at Yuxi Village."

A trickle of water slowly flows around the bottom of the valley. An elegant egret stands on one foot, its long neck hanging on the water, calmly watching the red fish one after another at the bottom. It is a quiet and beautiful scene that is not like the human world.

Jiangnan Yuxi Village.

After nearly half a month, he finally saw a sincere smile on Ning Ke's lips again. Rong Chu hurriedly asked someone to pass the message and rested. Ning Ke frowned for a few days, and Rong Chu was also depressed, which made the guards less cheerful.

Dare to say something. Now Ning Ke and Rong Chu are both amiable and amiable again, and they are no longer restrained. They looked around and sat down with their backs, and laughter suddenly broke out.

Ning Ke was still sitting in the car, opened the curtain and looked out, smiling lightly, "I've really restrained them these past few days."

"Yes." Rong Chu folded his arms and leaned back, with a somewhat casual attitude, "Actually, they restrained themselves."

"How can there be..." Ning Ke was about to argue, but suddenly he frowned, and there was a slight buzzing sound outside the window, getting closer and closer.

"Hidden weapon!" Ning Ke and Rong Chu looked at each other and shouted at the same time. Then Rong Chu grabbed Ning Ke, and his long clothes swept across the red sandalwood table, and books and fresh fruits and vegetables were scattered on the floor.

The water juice splashed on the open pages of the book, and the carriage, which was not big in the first place, became smaller and smaller after being filled with this sweet and sour taste. Almost at the same time, a three-edged arrow with no feathers was brought down the window.

The curtain above shot straight onto the opposite car wall.

Very quickly, it's just a matter of seconds.

Only then did Ning Ke feel frightened. His face turned pale in an instant. If Rong Chu hadn't acted quickly, he might have become the victim of the sharp arrow.

When he raised his head, he saw Rong Chu's face solemn. Just as he was about to speak out, Rong Chu made a silent gesture.

Ning Ke understood and curled up in front of Rong Chu. After a while, he heard the sound of sharp arrows shooting through the air again, passing through the empty window, splitting the previous arrow straight, and carrying two arrows.

The arrow trembled slightly again.

The fun outside the car paused for a moment, and then someone rushed over and asked anxiously, "Master Ning, Your Highness, are you okay?"

A very unfamiliar voice.

Rong Chu nodded towards Ning Ke. Ning Ke lowered his head and retreated to the other side of the carriage. Rong Chu said loudly, "It doesn't matter."

The tip of the iron spear was like a flexible snake, winding straight towards the place where the sound came from. Ning Ke held the spear with his side hand, and with this slight delay, Rong Chu had enough time to break the spear with his hands.
