Chapter 332 Cruise Farm(1/2)

Orti put down the muffin and took a sip of tea, "The client's name is Fionn Cruz, who claims to be a farmer, but he and his children run many industries, and he is a rich old man.

Three days later, Mr. Cruise will hold an engagement ceremony on the farm.

Two days ago, he received a threatening letter asking him to cancel the engagement ceremony, otherwise it would probably bring about a bloody disaster.

He wants to hire the best detectives to investigate and ensure the safety of the engagement ceremony."

"What is the client's specific purpose? To ensure the safety of the engagement ceremony? Or to find the person who wrote the threatening letter?"

"Fon Cruz didn't go into too much detail. He wants to interview you."

"how old is he?"

"The information shows that he should be 75 years old."

"Where's the bride?"

"It's not clear yet."

"When to set off?"

Orti glanced at his watch and said, "I'll contact you now. Maybe we can catch up on a pastoral lunch."

"What are you waiting for?"

Orti stood up with a slight smile on his pretty face, "This is your first time taking on a task from a detective agency, so I feel a little flattered."

Luke said, "It's a pleasure to work together for the first time."

Luke and Orti drove to South Los Angeles.

Blue sky and white clouds, endless wilderness, green vegetation on the farm, herds of cattle in the pasture, and a few spire houses can be seen far away.

Luke said while driving, "It's also nice to go for a drive in the wild during the break."

Orti joked, "I thought you only liked vacationing at the beach?"

"You are right, the beach is indeed the first choice. When we have time, we can get together at the beach."

"When it comes to the beach, I still prefer Hawaii."

Luke looked at Orti, "Are you inviting me to travel together?"

Orti shook his head and laughed, "No.

You should watch the road and follow the navigation prompts to turn right ahead."

The two of them followed the navigation instructions and drove forward for a few minutes until they saw the sign of Cruise Farm.

There is only one small road on the farm, which is narrow enough for two cars to pass. At this time, navigation is no longer useful. Fortunately, the surrounding crops are not high, and the direction of the house can be seen.

The car drove another mile before seeing the full view of the house. It was a three-story villa with a large area. It was different from ordinary wooden houses. It was a brick and stone structure house. From the outside, it looked like

It is made of stone, somewhat similar to a European castle.

There is a yard surrounded by a wooden fence around the villa. Flowers and lawns are planted in the yard, which looks very beautiful, like a small garden.

Such a big house is no longer expensive. The maintenance fee alone is not something that ordinary people can afford.

Not far away, a man wearing a cowboy hat came over on horseback and asked, "Who are you?"

Luke lowered the window and stuck his head out, "My name is Luke Lee, and I'm here to visit Mr. Fon Cruise."

"Mr. Li, please come with me." The man turned his horse's head and rode away.

Luke drove behind and asked Orti, "Can you ride a horse?"

"No, I'm still used to taking a car."

Luke joked, "It would be a pity not to ride a horse with your long legs."

"The way you praise people is really unique."

"As long as you like it."

Orti adjusted his sitting position and hesitated, "Luke... I think I should remind you.

You are now being commissioned as a detective, and compared to your previous investigation methods... you may have to be a little more restrained."

Luke smiled, "Don't have confidence in me?"

"No, when I saw this commission, the first thing I thought of was you. I have absolute confidence in you, but I'm worried that you are used to the police's way of handling cases and will unconsciously take over this job."

"I'll pay attention." Luke nodded. What Orti said makes sense. There are indeed some limitations to using detective methods to investigate.

The horse in front stopped, and the man wearing a cowboy hat jumped off the horse and pointed at a vegetable garden with his riding crop, "Mr. Cruz is right in front."

Luke stopped the car and asked, "Cowboy, what do you call me?"

"Tom.

Come on, I'll take you there."

Luke and Orti got out of the car and followed Tom to the vegetable field. Not far away, a man wearing a cowboy hat was digging potatoes.

"Mr. Cruise, your guests have arrived."

The man stood up slowly. He was tall, wearing a casual shirt and blue jeans. He looked to be in his seventies, but his body was still strong.

"This must be Captain Luke, who has repeatedly solved strange cases. He is younger than I thought."

"it's me.

Mr. Cruise, your farm is beautiful."

Orti also said hello, "Hello, Mr. Cruz."

"Wow, this must be Miss Dean. I remember your voice. I didn't expect that your persona is sweeter than your voice." After finishing speaking, Fon Cruise patted the dust on his hands.

"Sorry, I was supposed to greet you at the manor.

But I am a person who can’t sit still, so I’m here to prepare the ingredients for today’s lunch. These are potatoes that I grew myself without using any pesticides. They are purely natural. I believe you will like them.”

Luke was dumbfounded. Rich people also like to eat potatoes? I thought I could have some delicacies from the mountains and seas for lunch? That’s it?

Later, Fon Cruz drove a black pickup truck and led Luke and Orti into the manor.

After a brief wash, the three of them sat in the courtyard of the manor drinking tea, with three plates of nuts on the table.

Luke glanced around and looked at the beautiful scenery in the yard, "Mr. Cruise, your life is really enviable."

Fon Cruz put down his teacup, "There's nothing to envy. Everyone has troubles, otherwise I wouldn't have invited you two here."

Luke said, "I heard Miss Dean talk about the content of the commission, but she doesn't know the specific situation, so she needs to find out from you personally."

Fon Cruz nodded and said, "In three days, my girlfriend and I are going to get engaged in this manor.

Two days ago, I received a threatening letter asking me to cancel the engagement ceremony, otherwise, something bad might happen."

"Is the threatening letter still there?"

"Of course." Fon Cruise took out a letter from his pocket and handed it to Luke.

Luke took the white envelope and asked, "Has anyone touched this letter?"

"Tom discovered it, and my son and daughter have seen it too."

"Where was the letter found?"

"On a window sill in the villa."

"What's the specific time of discovery?"

"In the early morning of November 6th, around seven o'clock."

"Were there any suspicious people around the farm that day or the day before?"

"No."

"Who has been here?"

"On November 5th, I invited my family and friends over and officially announced the engagement date to my girlfriend, so a lot of people came that day."

"In other words, your family is here?"

"Roughly the same."

"Do they support your engagement to your girlfriend?"

"My son and daughter...neither want me to remarry.

But it doesn’t matter what they say, I know how to live my life, I have more experience than them."

Luke opened the envelope, and there was only a piece of white paper inside, which said 'Mr. Cruise.

I don't think getting engaged is a wise decision, you are just confused by that woman for a moment.

She is not as good as you think, she has been cheating on you and she has a purpose.

If you insist on holding an engagement ceremony, something bad is likely to happen, and there may even be bloodshed.

I suggest you cancel the engagement ceremony.’
