Chapter 41 Rewards(1/2)
Dave thought for a while and said, "Steven is an irresponsible person. He was frightened when you took him to the police station. With some guidance from me, he decided to go out to avoid the limelight.
I spent $40,000 to send him away. This kid is probably living happily in Mexico."
"How did you scare him away?"
Dave repeated what he told Alyssa.
Luke asked, "Aren't you afraid that he will come back?"
"I was afraid, so I designed a plan to make him a wanted criminal. As long as he is wanted by the police, he will not dare to come back.
If he doesn't come back, the police won't be able to find out the truth."
Luke asked, "How was it designed?"
"Steven is a very ambitious person. He doesn't want to work for others. He always wants to do something big.
He has approached me many times and wants to do business with me. To put it bluntly, he wants me to pay and he will run the business.
I'm not short of money, but I won't waste it on him.
Until I spotted Alyssa dancing in the club, I started hatching a plan.
I agreed to invest with him. He wanted to rent a shop and open a restaurant, and I agreed.
After the shop was rented, he gave me a key and I designed the shop to be a murder scene."
Luke asked tentatively, "How exactly?"
"I sprayed some blood on the wall and floor and wiped it off with disinfectant. The smell almost killed me.
Hide the Taser and Alyssa's belongings in the smoke duct of the store. If the police find these things, they will naturally suspect Steven."
Dave's description matched the situation at the scene, and Luke continued to ask, "Who did you kill?"
"I didn't kill anyone, I did do some crazy things, but I don't kill anyone."
"What's with the blood?"
"bought."
"Where did you buy it? When, where, and who bought it?"
"Garcia Rogge, we traded on Binmei Street on March 5th."
Marcus was a little surprised, "You actually know 'Blood Man' Garcia? It's really surprising."
Luke asked quietly, "Do you know this guy?"
"Yeah, he runs a blood shop."
"Is it legal?"
"Half and half." Marcus shrugged and asked Dave, "But isn't Garcia someone you should know?"
Dave smiled and said, "No matter who he is, as long as he is in the United States, he cannot do without a lawyer."
"I know Garcia, and I will ask him for confirmation. If you lie..." Marcus showed a look that you know.
Luke changed the question again, "Where is Tony?"
Dave asked, "You didn't find him?"
"We want to make a record of him."
Dave smiled and said, "If you can't find him, how can I possibly find him?"
"What is Tony Weir's true identity?"
"What? What do you mean?" Dave looked confused.
Luke stared at the other person for a while, not knowing whether the other person's expression was true or false.
He asked some more details about the case, and Dave admitted to two robberies and one kidnapping, but he didn't know any clues involving Tony Weir and Steven.
…
At around one o'clock in the afternoon, Luke and the two left the interrogation room.
Susan, the deputy team member, David and others also walked out of the observation room nearby.
Susan nodded slightly at the two of them, "The interrogation was good."
The deputy said, "I bet this guy is hiding something. Maybe Tony and Steven were killed by him."
Luke shook his head, "He has always been calm. It is difficult to get him to speak without evidence."
"You go to eat first, and we will study it in the afternoon." Susan finished her sentence and turned around to leave.
Luke was already hungry and ran to a nearby Mexican restaurant for a big meal.
At three o'clock in the afternoon, a case summary meeting was held in the conference room.
Deputy Director Reid also attended the meeting.
After comparing the victim's transcript, clues and Dave's confession, the three were basically consistent, and the 'Taser robbery case' was officially declared solved.
Garcia also admitted to providing Dave with plasma.
As for the disappearance of Tony and Steven, since there is no evidence to prove that it is related to Dave, it can only be handled in accordance with relevant regulations.
…
eight pm.
Fly bar.
"cheers!"
Luke was sitting around a table drinking with a group of colleagues.
Luke drank more than half a glass of ice-cold beer in one gulp, which was great.
Marcus grinned widely, "Captain, this is my first time drinking with you, it's my honor."
Susan glanced around, "I really don't come to this kind of place often."
Marcus suggested, "You should come here often to have a drink and feel the happy atmosphere around you, which can relieve the pressure of work."
"I will think about it."
The deputy said, "At least you have to come to celebrate after solving the case."
"certainly."
Luke said, "Captain, the 'Taser Robbery' has been solved. I want to take two days off."
Susan didn't answer immediately and glanced at the others, "Who else wants to take a rest?"
"Oh, I have something to do too." Marcus smiled.
"OK, Marcus has one day off and Luke has two days off."
Marcus was quite happy to hear the first part, but he was a little dissatisfied with the rest, "Why does he have one more day off than me?"
"The successful detection of the Taser robbery case is inseparable from everyone's efforts, but Luke's performance was particularly outstanding in this case. He discovered the disappearance of Alyssa and the clues about Dave.
I am a person with clear rewards and punishments. If I do well, I will be rewarded. If I do not do well, you know the consequences..."
Susan asked, "Any questions?"
"No, that's fair." Seeing Susan's gaze directed at him, Marcus was immediately frightened and quickly changed the subject, "When we interrogated Dave today, this guy was always very calm. Do you think he was faking it?"
?”
Susan said, "I have been in the observation room. It doesn't look like he is pretending. Don't underestimate him. Investigating cases is our main field. The next step is his strength."
The deputy team member heard the implication, "He has already pleaded guilty and the evidence is conclusive. Can he still use legal loopholes to get away with it?"
Susan shook her head, "I don't know either. Deputy team leader, you have more experience in this area than me, so I'll leave it to you."
The deputy nodded.
Jenny did not participate in the interrogation and was more curious about some details, "Since Dave is a calm person, why would he do such an irrational thing?"
Luke has more contact with Dave and can better understand Dave's thoughts, "Jealous, he is jealous of Steven."
Jenny asked, "Dave is a lawyer, rich and well-established. Why would he be jealous of Steven, who is not as good as him? And Steven is still his good friend."
Luke took a sip of beer and continued, "You've hit the key point. Just because Steven is his good friend, not as good as him in every aspect, but married to the goddess of his dreams, that makes Dave even more jealous.
He had been accumulating this kind of jealousy for more than ten years. It was like a dam accumulating more and more water. Alyssa's strip dancing in the club caused the dam to collapse. The jealousy surged down and he lost his mind.
Emotions are compensatory.
Calm people mostly suppress their emotions, and they will become even crazier once they lose their minds."
Susan raised her glass and said, "OK, it seems I will come to the bar more often in the future."
"Ha ha……"
Everyone laughed.
