Chapter 8 The Postman
Detective Bureau.
After the meal, Captain Susan summoned everyone to the conference room for a meeting.
Jenny, the newly transferred female police officer, took the initiative to pour coffee for everyone.
Susan looked at David and Luke who had returned from the investigation and asked, "Is there something wrong with Qiaowei Gun Store?"
David said, "The boss is a slippery man. There is no monitoring in the store and the transactions are in cash. He was not cooperative at all at the beginning.
After I tried hard to persuade him for a long time, he admitted to selling modified Taser guns.
According to him, a man named 'Postman' put the modified Taser gun in the store for consignment, and the store only sold one."
Susan asked, "Where is the postman's true identity?"
David said, "The boss doesn't know either."
Vice Captain Vincent said, "Maybe I don't want to say it."
David looked unhappy, "If you question my ability, you might as well take action yourself next time you encounter this situation."
"Young people shouldn't be so angry. I'm just saying it's possible." Vice Captain Vincent continued his analysis,
"If what the boss said is true, if you find the 'postman', you can lock down the sales channels for modified Taser guns and follow the clues to catch the Taser robbery suspect.
The problem now is how to determine the true identity of 'Postman', a nickname that does not have a Social Security number."
Raymond said thoughtfully, "I really wish I had heard this nickname somewhere."
Deputy Vincenzo joked, “I’ve also heard that NBA superstar Karl Malone is nicknamed ‘The Postman.’ In addition, I can also reveal a little secret. He also worked as a part-time policeman.”
Captain Susan said, "Vice Captain, now is not the time to discuss basketball or your peers."
"He is not my same age. He is several years younger than me. Are you satisfied?" Vice Captain Vincent responded without hesitation and looked at Marcus aside.
"You know the local gangs best. Can you find out the identity of the 'postman'?"
"Yeah, you finally remembered me." Marcus grinned with his thick lips.
Marcus grew up in a slum and is familiar with all gangs. Although he seems unreliable and not very bright, he is good at finding people.
Susan said seriously, "It's half past one in the afternoon, and the suspect may commit another crime at night.
Marcus, we don’t have much time left.”
"I will try my best." Marcus said, got up and left the office.
Female police officer Jenny asked, "The suspect has already committed two crimes. You should know that the police are fully investigating. Is it possible to stop or escape?"
"I also hope so, but judging from the situation at the crime scene, the possibility is extremely small." Deputy Vincent picked up the whiteboard pen and started writing, marking, "The first crime was committed on 2.18. The victim was only robbed of all his belongings and
Clothing.
On February 25, he committed the second crime. The suspect scratched the victim's thigh and wrote "you like" in blood on the scene.
Compared with the first time, the second crime was more radical.
From my experience, unless he is caught by the police, he will not stop and will only become more brutal."
Luke pondered for a moment and asked, "Why did the suspect leave the words 'you like' on the scene, and what was his purpose?"
Deputy Vincen said, "Suspects in serial cases are usually divided into two types. The first type is for economic reasons and can be reasoned with logic.
The second spirit is stimulated in some way, and unless you are stimulated by the same stimulus as him, it is difficult to guess his behavior."
Luke shook his head, "Forget it, I'm still used to speaking with evidence."
"Wise behavior.
I once had a very good colleague who became schizophrenic in order to catch the murderer of a serial case."
"Are you kidding me?"
The deputy captain looked serious, "No."
Luke originally thought about whether he would have to work overtime today, but gave up after thinking about it.
He is a systematic person. If he needs to work overtime to solve the case, then he doesn't need this system.
In order to avoid death from overwork or becoming schizophrenic, Luke still gets off work on time.
None of his colleagues left, and all kinds of complex looks were cast at Luke.
Love me however you want, my health is the most precious thing.
…
Los Angeles Chinatown.
There are a large number of Chinese here, and you can hear the Minnan dialect anytime and anywhere.
It was Luke's first time to come to Chinatown. The streets were full of Chinese advertisements for Sichuan restaurants, nail salons, travel agencies that arrange passport extensions, green cards, etc. Even the exaggerated slogans were exactly the same as the cure-all diseases on telephone poles in China.
Luke was filled with emotions, he missed home.
It took a long time before I remembered the purpose of coming to Chinatown.
Eating fried chicken burgers every day, his brain and taste buds have begun to protest and want to eat local food.
Luke parked his motorcycle in front of a restaurant. The restaurant's plaque was green, with Chinese Yingchun Pavilion on the left and English on the right, with two red lanterns hanging next to it.
After entering the restaurant, a young Asian woman wearing a cheongsam stood at the door and said in English, "Welcome."
He found a seat by the window and sat down, and an Asian waitress handed him the menu.
Luke took a look and saw that the menu was in both Chinese and English. The first item on the menu was 'General Tso's Chicken'
Many people in China may not have heard of this dish, but it is very popular in the United States.
Luke hasn't eaten either.
I scanned the menu and ordered four dishes, General Tso's Chicken, Maoxuewang, Laoganma Fried Kidneys, Seafood Stew, a bowl of rice, and a bottle of Wuliangye.
Luke was very depressed during this period. He missed home and couldn't go back, and he couldn't afford to eat the delicacies of his hometown.
Now that I have money, I can eat freely.
Just do it and it's done.
The United States also checks for drunk driving, and law enforcement is also very strict.
But in this regard, as always, the emphasis is on human rights and freedoms, including the right and freedom to drink alcohol.
Therefore, the United States is the country with the most lenient laws regarding drunk driving in the world.
Luke has a good drinking capacity. Drinking two ounces is not a big problem and does not affect riding a motorcycle or walking in a straight line.
Full of wine and food.
Luke ordered a pot of Longjing to relieve his hangover and his homesickness.
The meal cost more than two hundred dollars.
It's around seven o'clock in the evening.
Luke took most of the bottle of Wuliangye and rode home on his Harley.
We have to face reality after all.
Because of drinking, Luke couldn't ride fast.
I rode near the Yiruo Community Commercial Plaza and saw a familiar figure.
A fat man with black hair and a white girl in school uniform were walking on the road.
As for how to distinguish white and Chinese girls.
Looking at the face from the front and the buttocks from the back, the white girl’s buttocks are more upturned.
Luke slowed down the car. This little fat guy was none other than his brother Jack.
The two of them were talking and laughing along the way, and the white girl was holding a cup of boba milk tea in her hand.
The little fat man reached out several times to hug the girl's waist, but then he pulled back.
Judging from their demeanor and behavior, the relationship between the two is unusual. They are definitely not as simple as ordinary classmates or friends.
