Chapter 1940 The New Year Has To Have A New Year's Look

Cao Shu decided to change the calendar and correct the weights and measures.

Everyone thought his approach was a bit incredible, but Sima Yi strongly agreed.

After the court dispersed, everyone retreated one after another, and Cao Shu kept Sima Yi.

The only two of them were left in the huge chamber.

Cao Shu asked: "Where should Zhongda start with these things?"

"I think it's safer to start with the year number first." Sima Yi asked, "Lord plans to determine the Yuan Dongyuan?"

"Yes, Dongyuan." Cao Shu said: "I am gone in the future. The successor will not allow the change of the Yuan Dynasty. It must follow the Dongyuan period to the age of thousands of years."

"I understand." Sima Yi asked again: "How to calculate the calendar?"

"The twenty-four solar terms originated from Huainan, of course we must use them." Cao Shuo said: "According to the calendar, there should be 365 days a year, and there will be 366 days every four years. After four years, fill in one of the extra days into one month."

"The lord said before, fill in the first month of this day." Sima Yi said: "Now there are leap months in the calendar every year, and the lord means..."

"How can I come from leaps every three years? " Cao Shuo said: "Change your ideas and leave the Spring Festival. According to what I said, 365 days a year, and one more day in the fourth year. Make a calendar and show it to me. Only by determining the calendar can you grasp the spring plowing and autumn harvest, stabilize the country and enrich the world!"

"What the lord said is," Sima Yi replied, and then asked, "The Spring Festival is the time to get rid of bad luck, why should I keep it?"

"In the past, the New Year was a day to eliminate bad luck, but we can give him new meanings." Cao Shuo said: "Don't bid farewell to the old and welcome the new, and prepare for the harvest for the coming year."

"It's better to have the meaning given by the lord." Sima Yi said: "I'll make arrangements now."

"Wait." He was about to retreat, but Cao Shu called out again.

Sima Yi asked, "What are the lord's instructions?"

"In addition to customizing the new calendar, firecrackers must also be pushed out." Cao Shuo said: "Gunpowder materials are easy to find, and countless firecrackers can be made every year. We must inform the people that firecrackers need to be set off in the New Year to eliminate bad luck and drive the atmosphere of the Spring Festival."

Cao Shu stood up and walked to the entrance of the hall.

He looked outside and said, "The Spring Festival must look like the Spring Festival. The people and the whole family are happy to reunite together, which is like the scene of the New Year."

When talking about this, what came to Cao Shuo's mind was the scene of celebrating the festival before this era.

He once lived forbidden to set off fireworks and firecrackers.

People always bring fireworks and firecrackers to designated places on the New Year's Day.

Many people gathered together, fireworks and firecrackers were ringing, and there was a very festive atmosphere.

When he came to this era, he found that people's mood for holidays was not very high.

Rather than looking forward to the Spring Festival, it is better to say that people in this era spend the New Year with panic.

They cut the bamboo into small pieces and put it into the flames in order to use the "crackling" sounds made when the bamboo burns away a monster called "New Year".

Cao Shu had never seen such a monster, but every New Year, he would hear that the New Year beast was in chaos somewhere again.

I once rushed over with novelty, but when he arrived, the Nian Beast had already left.

He believed that there must be the existence of the "Nian Beast".

As for what the "Nian Beast" is, Cao Shu didn't know.

Because the New Year beasts ruined food and harmed animals, he once guessed that it was a wild boar, but the people would not know the wild boars.

Since it was not a wild boar, Cao Shu became more and more curious about what this creature was.

Standing behind Cao Shu and listening to his feelings, Sima Yi certainly couldn't understand what he was thinking.

But he could feel that Cao Shu was looking forward to the New Year very much.

"Does your lord have any other instructions?" Sima Yi asked.

Cao Shu did not respond, but just waved his hand silently.

Sima Yi bowed and walked past him, leaving the hall.

Watching Sima Yi leave, Cao Shu shouted: "Deng Zhan, Zhu Ao!"

Deng Zhan and Zhu Ao walked up from the side.

"It's still early, accompany me to the fireworks workshop." Cao Shu ordered.

"The fireworks workshop is outside the city. Although it is still early, it will be dark after walking back and forth." Deng Zhan asked, "Lord, do you really want to go now?"

"If you don't go now, are you still waiting for tomorrow?" Cao Shuo said: "There are still a lot of things to do tomorrow. What can be done today, why should you wait until tomorrow?"

Deng Zhan and Zhu Ao were speechless, and they stood aside with their heads down.

Cao Shu walked past them and walked towards the main entrance.

The two followed behind him, and Deng Zhan winked at the guard next to him.

The guard trotted away.

When Cao Shu came outside the main gate, the guards had already brought his war horse "Snow Fox".

After accompanying him for many years, the "Snow Fox" has grown from a foal back then to a horse that is about to pass its prime.

When he saw Cao Shu, it obediently sniffed and rubbed its head against Cao Shu's body.

I had a tacit understanding with it for a long time. Cao Shu gently stroked its mane twice and leaped onto the horse's back.

Cao Shu got on the horse, Deng Zhan and others jumped onto the mounts one after another.

Everyone walked towards the city gate.

When leaving the city, Cao Shu looked up at the sky.

It was still early, and if they went and returned quickly, they would be able to return to Shouchun before dark.

"Hurry up, try to come back before dark." Leading everyone out of the city, Cao Shuo urged the horse to move forward.

Although the snow fox is a little older, it is a good horse that travels thousands of miles a day.

He rode his horse in front, and Cao Shu left Deng Zhan and others behind after a while.

"Master!" The distance between him became farther and farther, and Deng Zhan and Zhu Ao shouted repeatedly: "Please wait!"

Hearing their shouts, Cao Shu slowed down.

When Deng Zhan and others caught up, he laughed: "It's so refreshing to run for a while!"

"The lord is so happy, we can't keep up." Deng Zhan said: "The snow fox travels thousands of miles a day. Although the horses of us are all good horses from the north, they are much worse than it."

"I gave you the opportunity to ride a horse, General Deng blamed me." Cao Shuo said with a smile: "It's better not to throw you so far in the future."

"The snow fox has been with the lord for many years. In my impression, the only ones that can compete with him should be General Lu's Red Rabbit and General Zhao's Green Jade Lion." Zhu Ao said: "It has also made many contributions to the lord over the years."

"It's getting older every year." Cao Shu said, gently stroked the snow fox's mane, "I don't know how long I can stay with me."

After sighing, he greeted everyone: "Go away quickly, when you arrive at the fireworks workshop, I still have a lot to do."

Everyone followed Cao Shuo and rushed towards the fireworks workshop.
