118. Enemies meet

Winnie was invited by Chamberlain. She was originally very uneasy about disturbing the Christmas reunion day of the Gotrib family. When Winnie received his call to organize Christmas charity activities together, she did not hesitate and refused the several PARTYs arranged by the old man for her and rushed over in great enthusiasm.

In fact, this invitation was two-way. Chamberlain invited Winnie, and Gotrib's boss invited him, wanting to invite him to go home to celebrate Christmas together.

Chamberlain, Winnie, Shirley and the lazy Li Qun got into the Sardmons car, who only returned this morning. Last night, the Christmas Eve where their anti-war organizations gathered together, was said to be planning a big move.

"What are you preparing at home? How do you usually celebrate Christmas?" Chamberlain asked Winnie excitedly, "If we go to your house tonight, will we really not disturb you?"

Winnie Mumu glanced at him, but stopped talking.

"What's wrong?" Chamberlain was very sensitive. When he noticed something was wrong with Winnie, he said, "If you have something to say, you can just say it. Now we are all a family in the car, and there is nothing to avoid."

A strange change flashed across Winnie's gorgeous pretty face. She looked out the window and then turned around and asked, "Are you sure you want to participate in my PARTY?"

Chamberlain spread his hands and smiled, "Yes, it's lively for many people. If there are only a few people on Christmas, it would be boring."

Winnie looked at Chamberlain and said slowly: "My father organized a PARTY, but the purpose is probably a bit different from your expectations. The parties my father held were all blind dates for me. Do you understand?"

Chamberlain's expectant expression disappeared immediately. If he had no Li Qun, he could have looked forward to it. It would have been good to make a pair with Winnie, a rich and beautiful woman, and she could have struggled for decades less. However, with Li Qun now, it would be better to restrain Huahua's intestines.

The Christmas gift that Chamberlain prepared for Shirley was organized in her name to organize a charity community event. Winnie contacted the NBA headquarters. Part of the funds for the charity event were provided by the NBA. Chamberlain only needed to participate.

The community event is not held in San Francisco, but in Fresno, about 100 kilometers from Oakland. This city is located in the center of the San Joaquin Valley and is a beautiful tourist city. If tourists come to California, it is a place as unmissable as Los Angeles.

Fresno is a distribution center for cotton, grapes, vegetables, wheat and other materials in the San Joaquin Valley. It is an important agricultural city in the United States and one of the main agricultural product processing industries and food production sites. The agricultural product processing industry here is very developed, especially the production and winemaking of raisins, and is known as the "Capital of the World". Petroleum can be mined nearby, and it is the entrance and exit of Yusemite National Park, with a developed tourism industry.

However, the overall economy of this city is still underdeveloped in California. The slums account for 18% of the entire city, far exceeding the average of 6% in California. It has always been a key area for major sports leagues to hold charity activities.

Chamberlain and others drove the Dodge Ram and Hyundai SUV all the way. They set off at 7 o'clock and arrived at a slum community in Fresno at around 9 o'clock.

Because it was Christmas, this dilapidated slum community was also decorated. The bumpy road was simply filled with coal ash and sand. The stinky ditch next to the road was covered by snow. Overall, it was pretty good.

However, the dilapidated houses in the community still expose the essence of this place. The walls of the building are covered with exaggerated and weird graffiti. The contents of these graffiti are full of violence and pornography. Most of them are pictures about genitals and nude men and women. There are almost no trash cans in the community, and garbage can be seen everywhere. Some wild dogs and cats are digging food inside. Occasionally, they will have a bloody battle between them.

Li Qun raised the camera in his hand from time to time, and recorded these scenes with a heavy expression. In the future, these photos will be posted on domestic websites, so that those in mainland China who think the American moon is rounder than the domestic cents and look at the hellish existences of Great America.

Seeing this messy slum, Shirley grabbed Chamberlain's hand and murmured: "Thank you, Mr. Z, if it's not you..."

She didn't say anything after that, but Li Qun and Winnie were silent. They were both beautiful women, so they naturally knew what kind of outcome would be for beautiful women to stay in such a place. Shirley was destined to have no future in the slum where sins occurred anytime and anywhere.

This charity event is a Christmas gift that Chamberlain gave to Shirley. He had already discussed it with Winnie, which is one of the reasons why he insisted on returning from Miami to celebrate Christmas. Chamberlain believes that girls should participate in more charity activities, which can shape a person's temperament and help improve Shirley's serious inferiority complex.

Two double-drive rear eight-wheeled trucks with NBA logo printed on the entrance of the community, and some black teenagers were wandering around the truck. Compared with the black NBA stars, these people were as thin as dry wood, as if they could blow down with a gust of wind. However, although they were not in good health, these teenagers were very flexible in their movements, staring at the two trucks with weird eyes, as if they were staring at the jackals on their prey.

The drivers of the trucks were all strong black men. They obviously knew the motivation of these teenagers. They pushed open the door and raised the large wrench in their hands and shouted a few times. Seeing that there was no trace, the teenagers left in disappointment.

The two trucks are filled with daily necessities such as flour, oil and salt, as well as hundreds of bread grills, microwaves, egg omelets, etc. Of course, the most common ones are clothes, shoes, socks, bicycles, and basketballs for children. These are all purchased online by Winnie. They are carefully packaged into Christmas gifts and distributed to residents here.

The NBA official has already made publicity in advance, saying that charity activities will be carried out here and Christmas gifts will be distributed. Someone has already arranged it in the basketball court within the community, and it is crowded with people, waiting to distribute gifts in the cold wind. Of course, it would be even better if we could meet NBA stars.

The NBA's Christmas events are not very grand, because the stars are also humans and have to celebrate Christmas. They just made Christmas promotional videos in advance. The real highlight was the All-Star Game. At that time, all players who were selected into the All-Star lineup had to participate in a large number of charity activities.

Chamberlain's tall body is rare in the United States, but the people on the basketball court did not notice him. These people surrounded the court and cheered warmly from time to time, which shocked Chamberlain.

"I haven't come yet, the event has begun?" Chamberlain asked in surprise. He took Shirley and others to the stadium until he got close to him and was discovered by fans who occasionally turned around.

Seeing Chamberlain, the fans were a little unbelievable. Several people rubbed their eyes and burst into screams: "Oh my God, it's SUPER-Z! SUPER-Z is here, he is here too!"

The calls from these fans triggered the domino effect, and more people turned around, so the cheers became louder and louder. Chamberlain quickly became the focus of residents' gaze. Hundreds of people rushed up, surrounding him and Shirley.

Chamberlain raised his hand to greet the fans with high-highs, but his eyes looked at the stadium, and was surprised. He saw a man who was extremely surprised here, Bowen, the Spurs' small forward, and Bruce Bowen.

No wonder the residents here did not notice Chamberlain's appearance. A game was being played on the court. Bowen brought four thin black children, who were about twelve or thirteen years old, against five teenagers of fifteen or sixteen years old. The two sides fought back and forth. Even though the wind was cold, they were still wearing only a thin jersey. The sweat from their bodies was emitting heat, as if they were taking a hot bath.

Like those teenagers, Bowen was also steaming. It can be seen that he played very seriously in this game. Although he rarely made moves, he was very active in rebounding and passing the ball.

Seeing Chamberlain appear and Bowen, who grabbed the rebound, stopped. He looked at Chamberlain with a smile, and did not mind the latter's arrival and snatched him. He waved his hand to signal.

Because Bowen hurt Davis in the past and elbowed him to attack Bowen in revenge, causing the latter's nose to fracture, the relationship between the two parties has been relatively tense. At least in Chamberlain's heart, the relationship between them is relatively tense. However, now looking at Bowen's performance, it seems that the problem is not as serious as he imagined.

The fans had already prepared the signature pen and signature paper in their hands. They were waiting for Bowen, but now that Chamberlain appears, it would be better. He handed the paper and pen directly on, and Chamberlain began to sign the autograph. The cameras and mobile phones in the fans' hands kept shining, and Chamberlain looked up from time to time and showed a smile to cooperate with the fans' photos.

After all, it was just a community and there were not many fans. After signing, Chamberlain took off his coat and asked Bowen: "Come together?"

Bao Wen looked at the four children around him and smiled and said, "Okay, let's change the group and I'll take care of the children, otherwise we can't stop a big guy like you."

Chamberlain was a little nervous, but as soon as Bowen spoke so humorously, he laughed and felt much more comfortable.

But a child next to Bowen refused and shouted: "No, we are not on the same team as SUPER-Z. He has injured Dad Bruce and is a bad guy!"

The other kids followed him and said, "That's it. SUPER-Z is a bad guy. We are with Dad Bruce."

Chamberlain was shocked. He thought he should be more popular than Bowen. The latter started out on defense and was always considered dirty in his movements. Now he is older and is about to retire. Fans have no feelings for him. Even if some fans like him, it should be that older fans like him for nostalgia reasons. But why do these children like him so much?

A middle-aged black woman with gentle temperament came over. She hugged Chamberlain and said, "Don't care, Z, these four are our children. They prefer their Bruce Dad, so they don't say that. For the sake of their children, don't be angry with them."

After saying that, she introduced herself: "My name is Yadri, Yadri Bowen, and she is Bruce's wife. I didn't expect that you will also come here to participate in the event today. Originally, the only news we received was Bruce himself."
