176. The Great Rival

(Read the full text of the Reading House without pop-up windows)

The starting frontcourt of the Supersonics is Nick Collison + Chris Wilcox. It doesn’t matter who is the center and who is the power forward. Anyway, they have no tactical function, just grab the rebound and cover Durant, and say where they are.

Collison and Wilcox are the same height, both 2.08 meters and 8 meters. The former belongs to the technical flow, while the latter is a black stick with a rough technical flow. However, no matter what kind of style it is, the two of them belong to the ordinary inside line in the NBA, and they are not very lethal when combined together.

The starting small forward is Kevin Durant, who needs no doubt, the tactical core of the Supersonics, the locker room leader, and the future superstar.

The double shots in the backcourt were Al Watson and Damian Wilkins. There was nothing to say. The main function was to dribble the ball through the half and then hand it over to Durant. Finally, he stood aside and watched Du play against the heroes by himself, and his role was similar to the guys on the bench with towels on his shoulders.

The Warriors' starting lineup has changed slightly, and it is Chamberlain + Pitrus + Jackson + Azubuke + Ellis. Obviously, this is a fast attack lineup. Except for Chamberlain, the other four people have accurate long-range shooting skills. Old Nelson is going to teach the Supersonics a lesson with attacks.

Chamberlain transferred the ball to Azubuk, who ran to the frontcourt with a big sprint. The ball passed twice, and Ellis jumped up and made a long shot.

"My!" Ellis shot and Chamberlain roared suddenly, his huge body shook left and right, and Collison, who was competing for position with him, was almost overturned to the ground. Wilcox was also shocked. He didn't know what kind of nerve Chamberlain was making. Didn't the ball go in?

Seeing the ball in the frame, Chamberlain jumped up and slapped the rebound and ran to the frontcourt in disappointment.

As the core of the Supersonics, Durant is the first player in the team's scoring ability. Of course, he will play the first ball. Jackson also knows this. He followed Durant tightly and used his strong arms to ravage Durant's small body, without giving face to the younger generation. It's really bad.

But if someone thinks that this can stop Durant, that would be a joke. Although the Supersonics are ruthless but not stupid, can they develop a core that has no potential?

Jackson's rudeness did not scare Durant. He pushed Jackson to the inside, then took a step back, quickly threw Jackson away, rushed out of the three-point line and received Watson's pass.

After getting the ball, facing Jackson's defense, Durant leaned forward and tried it. Jackson subconsciously retreated, and then Durant's waist and abdomen were closed, and his two thin calves jumped up like a spring, shaking his hand and making a long shot.

Three-pointer hit!

Old Nelson rubbed his chin with a serious expression. He had studied Durant. This guy called "Little Meddy" had great potential. If he could grow up and equip him with strong enough teammates, he would definitely be Chamberlain's huge opponent.

The NBA may be very interesting in the future. The old man thought happily, but his face still had a solemn expression, mainly to give the home team fans some face. In fact, he didn't see this game at all, and there was no suspense to win or lose.

It's not that old Nelson looked down on the Supersonics. It's because their players are too unscrupulous. Azubuk hit Watson with his back and made a jump shot. The basketball flew out in the ring twice. Chamberlain flew up like a rocket, and took the rebound under the attack of Collison and Wilcox.

The best chance for the two was to stop Chamberlain before he grabbed the rebound, so that he could not get the position. Now, when Chamberlain grabbed the rebound, the two wanted to limit him, but it was too late. Chamberlain did not play singles by himself, but passed the ball to Pitrus who was open.

There was no one around Pitrus, so he rushed forward two steps until he felt like he was sure to win.

Collison was barely considered a star inside player. His previous inaction made him a little ugly. When the Supersonics attacked again, he took the initiative to ask for the ball and wanted to play Chamberlain alone in the inside.

Chamberlain smiled. Does this guy treat himself as Garnett? There are not many inside players in the league who dare to play singles. This is a life-and-death Colison.

Collison is not such a brainless guy. The reason why he reached out to ask for the ball was to cover Durant. After getting the ball, he made several back-attacks as if he was decent. After attracting everyone's attention, he immediately passed the ball out and gave it to Durant again.

After Durant got the ball, he inserted into the inside line. He was as thin as an agile reindeer. He passed through Jackson and Pitrus' defense one after another, and rushed into the penalty area to make a high throw: Chamberlain jumped up to block it, but Durant's arm span was very long and his throwing shot was very high, so he didn't even touch the ball hair.

5:5, Durant scored five points at the beginning, and Old Nelson was furious and shouted at Jackson: "Are you sleeping? Worm! Even the defense I am doing on the court now is better than you!"

Jackson is a well-known person. Even Kobe cannot easily score five points in the game when defended by him. Moreover, Durant is still a rookie. He stared at the latter tightly and threatened with a broken voice: "You have angered me, boy, you have messed with me, I want to deal with you!"

Durant shrugged and glanced at him with a slanted look, "It's better to do it than to speak."

When Jackson heard this, he laughed furiously, turned around and attacked the Warriors. He got the ball outside the three-point line and signaled his teammates to pull it away and wanted to play Durant alone to teach him a lesson.

Durant took a cautious step back. Due to his strength, his defense has always been unreliable and is easily knocked open to reveal loopholes in the defense line.

Of course Jackson knew this. That's what he did. There was nothing fancy. After getting the ball, he hit Durant sideways and hit Durant with his strong shoulders!

Durant has a big heart and courage that is not consistent with his thin body, but defense is not just a matter of courage. He can't stand Jackson, so he wants to reach out to get the ball. Jackson is an old ball player, and he waits for this moment. Durant immediately shook his shoulders and quickly changed hands. He broke through Durant's defense line and rushed into the penalty area in two steps. He raised his hands high and dunked!

Collison and Wilcox were both restrained by Chamberlain, and there was a large gap in the inside, and Jackson's dunk was unstoppable.

But the blocking still appeared. Jackson raised the ball over his head and pressed it against the ball from behind. Durant caught up from behind and slapped the ball from his hand!

Durant's strength is indeed not a strong point, but except for strength, his other abilities are almost perfect. Fast speed, strong explosive power, and good flexibility are reflected in defense, which means that he can catch up with his opponent in the shortest time after losing position and make up for his mistakes!

After the block appeared, the fans who had originally agreed to boycott the supersonic players were excited, cheering came over the shore like a wave, and booing continued to hit Jackson.

In just two minutes of the game, Durant completely defeated Jackson, who was against him, which was something Kobe never did! Of course, this was related to Jackson's lack of understanding of him and underestimating the enemy. If he was against Kobe, he would never have such an attitude, but this is the reality. He was beaten up by Durant.

Old Nelson frowned and shook his head, but he didn't call for a timeout. He believed that his men could adjust.

After Durant blocked, Azubuk was flexible and got the ball. The inside line was still blank. He rushed in, grabbed the ball with one hand and raised his arm upwards, shaking his wrist softly, throwing the ball towards the rebound, bounced and crashed into the ring.

"I was fucked by a rookie?" Jackson was in tears. Chamberlain comforted him, "A good man doesn't cry, stand up and continue masturbating!"

Ellis, Harrington laughed, Old Nelson really frowned this time, what are these guys doing? Of course, did they knead the date paste at will?

The old coach's worries are correct. Although Supersonics is a bottom, it does not mean that they will lose, especially now that it is just the beginning, Durant is full of energy.

Durant was still attacking with the ball, Jackson came up to defend with anger, but Durant quickly changed two large forward bodies, and threw away Jackson and inserted from the wing to the inside. Harrington subconsciously went up to chase the defense. Collison was let go. Durant did not care about the ball and immediately passed the ball.

Chamberlain was still at the basket, and Collison showed his soft touch after the open position. He made a jump shot from the low post, and the two sides were in a difficult position to match.

This explosive opening brought strong confidence to the Supersonic players. Everyone was full of attacking desire and played a rare team cooperation this season. They took Durant as the core, fought in the inside in the frontcourt, and interspersed in the backcourt at the high position, which made the Warriors flew in a hurry.

Chamberlain did not get the chance, so he kept guarding the low post as impeccable, but Durant was the main attacker. He did not rely on scoring in the penalty area, but repeatedly fired fire from the outside, trying to avoid facing Chamberlain head-on. It seems that he also understands the power of this brother of the same level on the defensive end.

Watson broke through Azubook, the latter retreated to defend, Durant picked and roll, Jackson defended Watson, and after the misalignment, Watson passed the ball back to Durant. Azubook and him were very different in height, so Durant didn't need to hesitate and took a jump shot.

Ellis missed a long shot, Wilcox grabbed the rebound, Durant made a quick break, Azubuke had to foul, sent him to the free throw line, and then made two free throws.

Even the Warriors had problems with the inside. Chamberlain was led out of the penalty area by Collison. Wilkins threw the ball towards the ring. Durant followed the baseline and jumped into the penalty area. He grabbed the ball and made an air relay!

After eight minutes of the first quarter, the Warriors actually fell behind, 15:18 behind by three points. Old Nelson did not call a timeout, but watched coldly with his arms around. However, when Durant deceived Harrington and made a three-pointer and went to the free throw line to score 3+1, he knew that he would not be able to call a timeout.

Chamberlain clenched his fists and walked down the field. When passing the rostrum, the Supersonic statistician smiled strangely: "Aren't you going to create a miracle here? Twenty-four rebounds, rookie, you have to get twenty-four rebounds!"

Someone next to him laughed and said, "Is this kid known as Kevin Durant's lifelong enemy? It's so funny. Durant has scored 14 points and 4 rebounds. What about this kid? His score seems to be a duck egg?"

Chamberlain laughed and said to the people on the rostrum with a smile: "Don't be impatient, guys, the game has just begun, and the good shows are coming."
