192. A Tavern

(Read the full text of the Reading House without pop-up windows)

After attending the press conference, Chamberlain took Yao Ming to the Oracle Training Hall. Thurmond and Curry were waiting for him, but they did not let him train. As soon as the few people met, Thurmond walked over with his arms around and said carelessly: "I've done a good job recently. Boy, I finally didn't embarrass you."

Chamberlain laughed and said relaxedly: "The opponents have been too trash recently, and I haven't done my best. Unfortunately, there is no center like you now, so I can't play any more."

In fact, these are all pretentious words. What does it mean that a master is as lonely as snow? Anyway, Chamberlain has never felt it. He wished that he was the only one in the league, so that the game would be easy and the money would be simple.

After hearing this, Thurmond burst into laughter. He patted his chest and said proudly: "You don't have this opportunity. A man like Mr. Thurmond is the center forward who has appeared every twenty years..."

Curry interrupted his bragging and said impatiently: "Okay, man, can you be the center that you have ever met in a century? Let's go quickly. Are you going to take Z to the 'Warriors' bar today to see it?"

"Warriors Bar?" Chamberlain widened his eyes. He is an old fan of the Warriors and is still the core of the team. Why have you never heard of such a bar? Of course, he knew that there were several bars in San Francisco and Oakland that were named "Warriors", but he didn't believe that people like Thurmond and Curry would be interested in those low-end striptease KTVs.

In particular, Winnie also said to him: "Follow and have a look, you are qualified."

Chamberlain kept muttering in his heart that these people were so noble and cold, as if the bar was a club of fifty superstars.

When I took a bus to the outskirts of Oakland, farms appeared outside the car windows. There were few bars and nightclubs here. There was not much demand for such simple towns. Moreover, due to the mild climate in California, farmers of these farms grew grapes to a greater or lesser extent and could make wine by themselves. Most of these people were extremely proud and looked down on the things processed by chemical processes in the bars.

The car ended up parked in a farm. Compared with other farms, the farm covers a small area, but it has a very stylish shape and looks very original. Moreover, the farm is not planted with agricultural products such as rice, barley, and corn, but some African vegetation that is rare in the Americas.

Thorn bushes, cactus bushes and thin grasses are the main themes of the farm. There are also many domesticated trees, such as cashew trees, mango trees and lilac trees. In addition, there are several tall coconut trees in the middle of the yard. These vegetation is obviously not very suitable for the California climate, but it can be seen that the owners of the farm are very attentive and pay a lot of money to make them survive on this unsuitable land.

Seeing the car coming in, a thin black old man kneeling in the bushes who carefully planted small shrubs stood up. Although he was thin, the man was very entertaining. When he saw the car coming in, he began to twist his body. When Chamberlain and others got out of the car, he took out a small drum and beat it "cracklingly", which was full of rhythm and full of the smell of the African grassland.

"Mo Bodhi, my buddy, how are you doing recently?" Thurmond hugged the black old man. The old man was not short, and he was about 1.9 meters away. But standing with the tall and strong Thurmond, he was like a small shrub next to a poplar tree. The two hugged each other. Chamberlain was really worried that Thurmond accidentally pinched him into a bone.

The black and thin old man had a loud voice and laughed: "My life has always been so fulfilling and comfortable. Look at my yard, have you smelled the smell of Africa? And Nate, let me tell you a good news. I found two video tapes on e-baby a few days ago. You must not think of whose game it was..."

He turned his head to see Chamberlain, then pushed Thurmond away, and waved enthusiastically: "Wow, super-z, man, I'm so surprised to see you here. I guess it must be Winnie who wants you to come to me, right? Haha, that little girl!"

Thurmond chased behind the old man and asked, "Mo Bodhi, whose game did you find? Let me guess it's the game between Wilt Chamberlain and Russell, right?"

The old man walked towards Chamberlain with great strides, and said carelessly: "No, I already have a lot of those games. This time it was a game held on October 27, 1964. Do you have any impression of that game? Remind you that a gentleman took 37 rebounds in that game. Who is their opponent?"

Thurmond didn't say that, but Chamberlain shouted: "It won't be the Warriors' match against the Baldimo Bullets, right? Coach Nate, that's your representative battle!"

Thurmond laughed and looked very happy. Indeed, that was his representative battle. He scored 37 rebounds in that battle. Although it was not as shocking as Chamberlain's fifty-five rebounds in a single game, it was also a benchmark record.

Facing Chamberlain, Winnie was about to introduce him, but the old man waved his hand and introduced himself: "Hello, z, my name is Mobodi-Quai-Brew-Captain-Bar-Babru, you can call me Mobodi, that is a place name on our African grasslands. I was born. Have you heard of it?"

Chamberlain blinked his eyes, hesitated for a moment, and whispered: "Sorry, sir, I know this is rude, but can you say your name again? I don't have a good memory and can't remember it."

"This name is easy to remember." Winnie said first, with a rare face no longer tense, but a happy smile. "Mobodi-pride-brew-captain-bar-Babru, this is much simpler than Mutombo's name."

As he said that, Winnie turned to look at Yao Ming, with a playful smile on her lips, and asked, "Hey, Yao, do you know Mutombo's full name, right? Can you tell us? I heard that his name has a total of fifty-five words."

Mutombo is now serving as a substitute for Yao Ming in the Rockets. Because of his personality, the relationship between the two is pretty good. Mutombo has been helping Yao Ming train defense recently. Last time Chamberlain played against him, this old guy does have a good defense and his position judgment is very accurate. He is not the kind of player who simply relies on physical fitness to defend.

Yao Ming, who had been smiling and staying out of the matter, suddenly turned pale after hearing this. He laughed dryly and muttered: "Dickenbe Mutombo Moplando Mukamba Jane Jane Jane Vaugh Toby, this should be the case. I can't remember the full name. I can't remember it. I can't remember it myself. I'll say a little bit."

After hearing what Yao Ming said, Chamberlain felt much better. Although Mo Bodhi's name is quite long, it has a specific meaning, and it is all in English. Mutombo is different. His name is in English, which translates his tribal native language in English. It really has no meaning and can only be memorized by rote.

Amid the discussion and jokes, Mo Boti led a few people to the small wooden building. On the way, he happily explained his name to Chamberlain: "It's very simple, z, my name means very simple. "Moputi" is my birthplace, "pride" is personality, "brew" is specialty, "bar" represents wealth, and "captain" is the highest title he won. As for Bablu, that is my father's name, do you remember?"

When he walked to the entrance of the small wooden building, Chamberlain understood why Thurmond said he had brought him to the Warriors Bar. The sign hanging in front of the small wooden building said 'Warriors Bar'. After opening the door, a rich aroma of wine came to his nose. The small wooden building looked quaint from the outside, but in fact it was very modern inside. It was really a bar, counter, high chair, colorful lights and so on.

In addition, there were actually a few people drinking in the bar. They were obviously acquaintances with Thurmond. When they saw a few people coming in, they raised their glasses to signal. Chamberlain did not pay attention to a few people. His attention was attracted by the decorations on the walls around the bar.

The bar is divided into different areas, and some areas have large photos hanging. These photos vary from black and white to color photos. They are all about players and NBA arena. To be precise, they are all about Warriors players and some things in the history of Warriors:

Each area has a title, which consists of time and some major events of the Warriors during the season. There are countless photos below. Photos before the 1980s are all black and white photos, and there are explanations below each photo, such as:

"In the 1946-47 season, the Philadelphia Warriors were established and joined the Baa. In the season, the Warriors chose the 6-foot-5 rookie forward Joe Falker, who was from the University of Kentucky, a white photo appeared next to him. In the season, Falkers won the title of scoring with 23.2 points per game, which was 6.4 points more than the league's second scorer Bob Ferric - another white photo was posted next to him, and a clown was also drawn.

The Warriors won the East Division championship in the 1947-48 season, with a regular record of 27 wins and 21 losses, but lost to the Baltimore Bullets in the finals. Falkes once again led the league with averaging 22.1 points per game, but the title of scoring was Max Zaslowski of Chicago. However, we have another genius, Howey Dalamo, who averaged 12.2 points per game (second in the team) and 2.5 assists (first in the league).

In the 1948-49 season, Falkes still played in the league, averaging 26.0 points per game, including 63 points in a single game against Indianapolis. However, as four NBL teams jumped to Baa before the season, some new talented players also landed - including George Miken, the Minneapolis Lakers' Energy Tower entered Baa like a storm and plundered the scoring title of the year with a total score of 1698 (28.3 points per game). The Warriors' Ed Sadowski ranked fifth in the league with 15.3 points per game. Despite having two top scorers, the Philadelphia Warriors' regular record is only 28 wins and 32 losses, and lost to the Washington Congress in the first round of the playoffs..."

Although Chamberlain is a fan of the Warriors and his old man is a die-hard fan, he has never studied the history of the Warriors face to face. He is very interested in these photos and explanations, so he walks between the walls and keeps reading the content above.

Every season has a prominent title to summarize, such as "1961-62: Chamberlain's 100th Night", "1965-66: Warriors' Nightmare Trading Chamberlain", "1966-67: Warriors' New Opportunity: Signing Barry", "1971-72: Warriors Leaving San Francisco"...

"1974-75: Amazing transformation, the champion of the Warriors"

"1975-76: The Warriors strive to defend their title"
