50. Nightmare Comes
In the Oracle Training Hall, Old Nelson was watching a video inside with a laptop. This was a game between the Celtics and the Mavericks. Facing the aggressive Texas Iron Cavalry, the Celtics returned with a beautiful 102:80 victory.
On the training ground, after warm-up training, assistant coach Nelson Jr. blew his whistle and signaled the players to play in the team game.
Jackson and Ellis chatted and laughed casually: "Man, the Bostonians are fighting a defensive battle. You'd better not lose your chain tomorrow. This is the first battle in the league. Fuck, this is the first time I've gotten the first record in the league since I came to Oakland."
Ellis spread his hands and said innocently: "You know, Stephen, I will use my sharp attack on the four-year-old Bostonian's defense..."
When Jackson heard this, he became anxious and shouted, "I want you to defend well. Who the hell cares about the offense?"
Ellis smiled embarrassedly, glanced at Chamberlain and said, "Z will help me defend well, haha, as for me, you better not have too much confidence in me...Hi Z, what's wrong with you?"
Jackson and others turned to look and saw Chamberlain frown, his face was pale, his face was not as dumb as he had always been, but instead he was gray and looked very listless.
"I'm going to do it, how many women did you fuck last night? Ten or twenty?" Jackson was shocked. This was the first time he saw Chamberlain showing such a look. Chamberlain used to be the most energetic person among them.
Chamberlain grinned and smiled reluctantly, but did not fight back. He just slapped the ball in his hand listlessly, and the muscles on his arms were loose, not like the super rookie king who averaged 20+ rebounds per game in the past five games.
Nelson Jr. picked a ball and signaled Chamberlain and Biderlings to jump up. Since the former arrived, the latter has steadily changed from starting to substitute.
Although he has never complained about this, it can be seen that Bidlins still minds it. After all, for him who entered the NBA in 2004, this year is his contract year. If he cannot enter the starting lineup and play good data, he will not get a big contract after becoming a free agent next year.
What made Bidlins most uneasy was that since Chamberlain came to the Warriors, his role has been greatly weakened, and the Warriors uniform team has been close to him.
On the court, Chamberlain and Biderlings had a strong position conflict. Biderlings was an excellent defensive expert. Relying on his diligent style and excellent bounce, he gradually became the backbone of the Warriors' defense. Compared with the orthodox European inside, Biderlings is an alternative. He is not good at scoring. As a center, he likes to break through the frame. His scoring methods are not highlighted except for the second attack and the powerful slam dunk with a flash of inspiration. His shooting is quite rough, especially the free throws are very bad.
From this point of view, Chamberlain is an enhanced version of Derlings, and Chamberlain is younger and has more potential to explore.
After Chamberlain signed that weird contract with the Warriors a few days ago, Bidlins performed a little depressed. How could he not understand why the team signed Chamberlain, who was in conflict with his position? He could imagine that maybe it would not take long before he would be sent away.
This kind of thinking affected Bidlings' communication with the Warriors, making him more withdrawn and indifferent. He was not an American, but a Soviet enemy of the United States. Therefore, he became more marginalized in the Warriors. He had time to clean up his car Porsche and deal with his teammates less and less time.
Chamberlain and Bidlings stood at the midfield line. Nelson Jr. did not pay attention to his bad condition and threw the ball away. The team's training game began.
Jumping ball is Chamberlain's strength. His jumping, his avoidance of battles, and his bounce speed make him the NBA well-deserved king at this point. But today when he was about to take off, he suddenly felt as heavy as lead, and he didn't jump up. The ball was directly transferred to Troy Hudson by Bidlins.
Hudson and Bidlins have a similar mood. He has no sense of belonging to the Warriors. He plays as the point guard and is Davis' substitute. He originally thought that Davis would have the chance to get on the post if he was injured, but Old Nelson would rather use the rookie Azubuk who has a different position than give him a chance.
Compared to Hudson, Azubuk is indeed a rookie. The former entered the league in 1997. However, except for the exciting results in the Timberwolves' contract year, he was a mascot on the bench at other times, especially with several ankle surgeries, his ability is getting worse and worse now.
But Hudson didn't feel that way. The salary he received was just like Chamberlain this season, with eight million, but he averaged eight minutes of playing time per game, which made him extremely dissatisfied. What he complained about was that Old Nelson did not trust him, but he never thought about how Old Nelson should trust him with his unreliable offense and defense?
Hudson was eager to perform, and Hudson performed very well in the team's training game. Of course, this is fine for him, because he was born as a wild person and was used to the style of not passing the ball if he could play singles. He never discovered that this is what Old Nelson disliked him the most. The old man needed the players in his hands to score, but he didn't need a defender who only knew how to score and didn't pass the ball.
As soon as the game started, Hudson violated the old rules again. He instructed Belinelli to come up and cover him to get rid of Azubuk, and then singled Ellis. No matter who he faced, he will never be so unreliable. This time, Hudson successfully broke through.
However, Ellis' defense was not weak at all. He tried his best to delay. Although Hudson broke through him, he entered the penalty area. If he dared to take action, he would definitely be blocked by Chamberlain and even North.
Hudson suffered a lot in Chamberlain's hands in the past team training matches, but this guy had a stubborn temper and remembered to eat and beat him. Facing Chamberlain, he jumped up again and threw the ball.
Jackson had always been inconsistent with Hudson, and he sneered and wanted to see his joke. However, Chamberlain did not jump up and gave him a big hat as usual, but instead watched the ball fall into the ring from front of him.
"Hi, Z, what's wrong with you?" Even Barnes, who claimed to be even more nervous than J8, saw the problem.
Chamberlain forced a smile, shrugged with relief, and said, "Nothing."
He ran down, but his running speed was very slow, no longer in the whirlwind manner, and he seemed to be an old camel.
Hudson was very unhappy with his breakthrough. He hit the opponent with his strong body, which attracted Bidlins' attention and immediately threw the ball to Chamberlain. This is his cleverness. He knew what point guard he wanted, so he passed the ball first, instead of attacking the ring by himself.
The ball was passed very quickly, and Chamberlain almost failed to catch the ball. After getting the ball, he took a quick step back and aimed at the ring to dunk. Bidlins turned around subconsciously, rushed to him and hit him hard, raising his hand to hinder his jump.
This move should be a humiliation for Chamberlain. In many similar confrontations, Chamberlain first knocked off his opponent and dunked, or directly dunked up while riding his opponent.
Unexpectedly, Bidlins bumped forward and Chamberlain was knocked over. This scene completely shocked everyone on the court. Even Bidlins did not expect such a scene to happen. He stared at Chamberlain blankly, everyone was stunned. Old Nelson, who had been paying attention to the game video on the computer, was alarmed.
Chamberlain got up from the ground in a panic, and Jackson suddenly rushed up and asked excitedly: "Hey, I said brother, what's wrong with you? Damn this is not you, what's going on today?"
Petrus pulled Jackson, and he comforted Chamberlain and said, "Z, I think you may attach too much importance to tomorrow's game. In fact, there is nothing scary about Bostonians. Don't look at the media publicity. It's all a group of bitches who are moaning!"
Everyone associated Chamberlain's abnormality with the upcoming competition for the first team in the league. Ellis came up and advised: "Yes, man, this is nothing. We are obviously stronger than them, so there is no need to worry about anything. As long as we play as before, we will win!"
Harrington also said: "Garnet and I used to fight each other often. He is not your opponent. Except for entering the league earlier than you, and except for free throws, that guy is not as good as you in other aspects, and even trash talk is not as good as you!"
Chamberlain forced a smile. These bullshit things were not the reason why he became like this. He scanned the field and did not see Samar, which made him feel very confident: Is he really slowly changing back to the perverted body of the past? Do I really have to become unable to run or jump again?
Thinking of this, Chamberlain became more and more frightened. He had adapted and fell in love with his current explosive body. If he was allowed to go back to the past, it would be better to let him die directly!
Nelson Jr. also came up to comfort Chamberlain. After all, the latter was a rookie and there was a lot to learn. Everyone comforted her for a while, and the game continued, but Chamberlain's performance did not improve at all, but instead became worse and worse. Birdlings was the opposite, and the more they played, he played smoother and more dunked in front of Chamberlain many times.
Chamberlain's strongest defense became a big loss of standard and his offense was even worse. Apart from mistakes, he did not get any effective data on the court, which made everyone in the training hall unbelievable.
Finally, Old Nelson discovered the problem. He called Chamberlain down, comforted him for a while, then waved his hand and said, "Z, you don't need to train today. Go find a place you like to play, relax, wake up, tomorrow will still be so wonderful!"
Chamberlain smiled bitterly. He really didn't have to continue training here. Continuing it would only expose him more and more problems.
After leaving the training hall, Chamberlain was at a loss for a moment. Where should he go? Who should he go to? Is Samar? That guy didn’t know where he went in the past one or two days, and the phone couldn’t be reached. Are you looking for Li Qun? Chamberlain didn’t want her to see her now in a distraught way.
Finally, all Chamberlain could think of was Sardmons, his only brother.
But after taking a taxi back to the Soul Ballet community, Sardmons was not at home. Chamberlain felt that all this seemed to be God's will. He staggered on the street, but was recognized as the recently famous NBA superstar, surrounded by someone asking for autographs and taking photos.
