Chapter 30: The Natural Legilimency
Professor McGonagall sighed and turned into a quill.
"Since you don't want to use the time converter, you can take other elective courses except those basic courses.
You can now choose the subject you are going to."
Professor McGonagall handed William the quill, and he quickly checked the course on paper.
Professor McGonagall took the parchment, glanced at it, raised his eyebrows: "William, I don't recommend you choose Professor Trelawney's divination class. This course is enough to learn by yourself."
"Why?" William said with a smile.
This is strange, Professor McGonagall generally does not interfere with students' choices.
Professor McGonagall calmly said, "Divine is one of the most inaccurate subjects in magic. To be honest, I am the most impatient with divination.
Very few people can truly foresee the future, and Professor Trelawney…”
Professor McGonagall did not say the word "liar".
"Tell me so, Sybil dropped out of school in the first grade and kept studying at home," McGonagh said.
"Can you still study at home?" William said in confusion.
He thought Hogwarts had seven years of compulsory education and had to be spent in school forcibly.
"This kind of thing is not common now, but it happened often in the past, especially during the persecution of wizards.
Some wizard families educate their children at home, but they are usually young wizards who cannot go to school or are particularly talented," explained Professor McGonagall.
“Can’t go to school?”
"Well... it might be a squib, it might be silent."
"Then Professor Trelawney..."
"She is considered particularly talented by her family, in terms of divination. You may not know that she is the great-granddaughter of the famous divinationist Kassandra Trelawney.
But I dare say that she didn't inherit that talent..."
"Professor, do you not like Professor Trelawney?" William asked with a smile.
"It's okay." Professor McGonagall curled his lips, "There's a reason I don't like her."
Professor McGonagall was silent for a moment, thinking about whether he should tell William.
"At that time, when Sybil entered Ravenclaw..."
"Wait, Professor Trelawney is also a student of Ravenclaw?" William raised his eyebrows.
"Of course!" Professor McGonagall joked: "This kind of weirdo is usually produced by you Lavenclaw."
"Professor, you are discriminating against our college!" William pretended to be dissatisfied.
"Don't you often say, 'reckless lion'?" Professor McGonagall gave William a blank look. "And you are beating Liu Na, calling Ron and Harry an 'idiot'?"
William smiled awkwardly.
"It's okay, I think they're both idiots!"
Professor McGonagall held back the smile on his face and continued, "I was already in the seventh grade when Sibir entered Ravenclaw, and she made a prophecy...about me."
"What prophecy?"
Professor McGonagall took a deep breath, "She predicted that I would die in the seventh grade!"
“…” No wonder Professor McGonagall doesn’t like Professor Trelawney.
"I was still the first person she predicted, but I didn't die, so I lived well until now." McGonagall smiled.
"Well, I'm going to go to a class. If it's really like you said, I'll take Professor Setima Victor's arithmetic divination class."
"Okay, go to the auditorium, don't miss your sister's branch ceremony. I'm going to solve the matter between Porter and Weasley, these two uneasy idiots!"
Professor McGonagall quickly walked away before William entered the auditorium.
Although Professor McGonagall is usually very strict, he is actually a very easy-going person in private and occasionally jokes.
Of course it is not the kind of cold joke Dumbledore is.
At this time, Professor Flevy replaced Professor McGonagall and was holding a branch ceremony.
The auditorium was a sea of steep black hats; each long table was filled with students, and thousands of candles shone their faces, which were suspended in the air above the table.
William has missed the new song of the Sorting Hat, which makes him feel a little regretful.
A little wizard was sitting on a chair wearing a branch hat.
William walked towards Ravenclaw's table as quietly as possible.
As he walked along the back of the auditorium, people turned to look at him.
During this summer vacation, William did not make any big news, but this did not prevent his popularity from continuing to rise.
William sat next to autumn, and the little wizard had been assigned to Hufflepuff.
"Luna Lovegood," shouted Professor Flevy.
Luna jumped to the chair, and she picked up the branch hat, but did not bring it with her immediately, but instead flipped it over with her hat curiously.
She took out a needle from her pocket, as if she wanted to help her sew the sewing hat.
"Come here quickly, whoever is there, save me, Dumbledore!" The branch hat shouted in a mess.
William couldn't help laughing. Luna really could do something.
Professor Flevy coughed and reminded Luna to hurry up.
The girl seemed to have noticed Professor Flevy, and her eyes were protruding in surprise.
As soon as the hat was touched on Luna's head, the sewing hat couldn't wait to shout: "Ravenclaw!"
The students of Ravenclaw all applauded, but were not too enthusiastic.
Obviously, Luna's behavior also scared them.
Too strange!
William took the lead in applauding, and the applause became warm.
"Luna is very strange, isn't it?" Qiu whispered.
While sitting on the train, she felt that Luna was a little crazy.
"Aren't Lavenclaw's students all very strange?" William said in confusion. "Just Professor McGonagall said we were a group of 'weird people'."
Qiu smiled and nodded. When the students around Ravenclaw heard William say this, they all agreed.
Lavenclaw's students like to label themselves as ‘different’.
Luna walked to Ravenclaw's dining table and sat down on the chair next to William.
"William, what are you going to leave the train?" Qiu continued to say in confusion. "How could it appear near the Beating Willow?"
"Go and do Cedric a little favor," William said. "He needs..."
"He needs to hit the willow branches as a magic wand." Luna suddenly said.
"Hmm... um?" William looked at Luna and said in surprise: "How did you know?"
"I saw it with my eyes?" Luna glared at her big gray eyes.
William was stunned and his eyes suddenly became dull.
"Ah! I can't see it." Luna said in surprise.
William was even more surprised. He couldn't believe it: "Luna, can you capture God and seek thoughts?"
"What is God-taking thoughts?" Luna said strangely.
"In simple terms, it means knowing what others are thinking."
"Oh, is that called taking God's mind? I don't know, I always thought it was a mind reading technique. My father told me that wise people can do it."
"..." It turns out that William has always been a ignorant person.
This map cannon is a bit big!
"Luna, who did you learn from?"
"No one taught me." Luna shook her head.
"Born?" William seemed to have discovered a new world.
He always felt that Luna had the ability to see through human hearts, but he didn't expect that she was a natural master of divine and thought-taking.
This is the first time William has seen such a wizard.
Lavenclaw College has found a treasure.
