Chapter Fourteen The Baby's Sacrifice
Chen Chunyan is steaming buns at home. Xiaobo has some constipation these days. This kid doesn't like to eat vegetables and fruits, so he likes to eat meat. In order to let him eat some food, Chen Chunyan burns spinach and chops and minced vermicelli to make a filling and wraps it in the bun for him to eat.
"Grandma, the buns are not steamed yet?" Xiaobo had been impatient when he heard that it was meat buns.
"It'll be fine soon! There are ten minutes left to go down. Your sister will eat together after school." Chen Chunyan looked at her grandson dotingly. This child has a good appetite since she was a child. She doesn't have to feed her as long as she has meat, but she can feed her.
Just as he was talking, Lingzi opened the door and came in, "Sister is back! Sister is back!" Xiaobo jumped up excitedly, "Grandma, hurry up! Eat buns!"
"Little ancestor, the bun is still five minutes away. Have you finished your homework?" Chen Chunyan was so amused and crying. This child was too greedy.
"Grandma, I'll wash my hands and help you complete the table." Linzi put down his schoolbag, rolled up his sleeves and went into the bathroom.
"No, I've prepared it. Today I've eaten buns, drank bean batter, and I've put all the dishes and chopsticks." Chen Chunyan stared at Lingzi's face, as if she had cried.
"Oh," Lingzi washed her face by the way. Her crying face was dirty because of cleaning. Don't let grandma see anything anymore.
"Grandma, five minutes have arrived, can you get the pot?" Xiaobo stared at the quartz clock on the wall and couldn't wait to urge Chen Chunyan.
"You little greedy cat! Get the pot and the pot!" Chen Chunyan opened the lid of the pot, and the kitchen was filled with smoke. Xiaobo jumped to Lingzi's room, and Lingzi was filling the bowl with beans and batter.
"The buns are here!" Grandma walked in with two plates of buns in one hand, "Xiaobo, be careful to burn them, dry them before eating."
Linzi took a small plate, picked up two buns and put them in, "This is yours, it will cool down quickly in the small plate." Xiaobo took it with a smile.
"Lingzi, send this plate of buns to the opposite door. Lili likes to eat the buns I pack the most." Chen Chunyan brought two more plates over and asked Lingzi to give Chen Lili a plate.
"I won't go." Suzuko's face sank, and she became abnormal.
"What's wrong with you, a child? Don't you usually rush to send him off?" Chen Chunyan was a little puzzled. The two girls looked like one person. Is this a quarrel?
"What can't be eaten if someone is rich? Who wants to eat your buns?" Lingzi muttered in a low voice.
"Are you arguing? Did you cry at school?" Chen Chunyan smiled.
"I didn't." Suzuko lowered her head and muttered no longer.
"If you don't go, I'll help you become a peacemaker..." Chen Chunyan smiled and picked up the bun and prepared to go out.
"Grandma! Don't talk nonsense..." Lingzi stood up and grabbed Chen Chunyan.
"I'll tell you quietly, that's the case..." Lingzi told grandma what she heard that night. Chen Chunyan was a little disbelief, "You Aunt Zhang are not that kind of people, right?"
"Who knows? I heard what my dad told my mom, and Liu Lili's dad told me specifically about my dad." Lingzi was in a daze. She had never been as depressed as she was now. She hated herself for being stupid, and she believed that Liu Lili was not aware of all this.
"What are you muttering?" Ji Xueying held a grade leader meeting at the school. She came back a little late. As soon as she entered the door, she saw Lingzi pulling Chen Chunyan and whispering something.
"It's nothing. I steamed the buns and was about to deliver some to the opposite door." Chen Chunyan winked at Lingzi, and Lingzi entered her room and started having supper.
"What are you sending?! Less in contact with their family in the future." Ji Xueying burst into trouble as soon as she heard this.
"The children have been helping Lingzi with a lot of lessons. What's the point of giving a few buns? Even if her adult really thinks so, the children must have no meaning. This is for the children to eat." Chen Chunyan still wanted to go out with the buns.
"You are so confused! Isn't this going to make people look down upon?" Chen Chunyan was so angry that she blocked the door and refused to let Chen Chunyan go out. "It's enough to have an unsatisfactory daughter, and there is also a going to make people live in a mess."
"Look at what you are saying? They are all neighbors. I often think about it when they help us. It is reasonable for them to think so for their own children. Aren't you having trouble with yourself?" Chen Chunyan had no choice but to put down the buns and stopped insisting.
"Tsk! That's not that I'm not doing well, I've lost all my face!" Ji Xueying changed her shoes angrily, washed her hands, sat down and started having supper.
"I will make you look at me with admiration in the future." Suzuko suddenly said.
"Stop bragging, you're as cowardly as your father!" Ji Xueying was not angry and ate the buns with gritted teeth.
"If you don't believe it, forget it." Suzuko seemed to be talking to herself, but her eyes were secretly trying to stare at a place.
"I'll wait for you to slap me in the face." Ji Xueying pushed her job and took Xiaobo back to the house to do her homework. Chen Chunyan quickly packed up the table so that she could make time for Lingzi to do her homework.
"Grandma, I'll help you wash the dishes." Lingzi reached out to help Chen Chunyan, but she pushed it away: "Hurry up and write your homework. It's better to catch up on your grades than anything else. Your dad went to Phoenix City for training, and we only have a few bowls, so grandma doesn't need you to help."
"Grandma still loves me." Lingzi whispered and coquettishly. Chen Chunyan left with a smile, and helped Lingzi take her to the door.
Let’s focus on your best things. Suzuko started writing essays, and the name was "My Favorite Cat Calls Baby".
Suzuko used a lot of space to describe the baby's beauty, citing a few examples of the baby being obedient, cute and lively, and her unparalleled love for it.
Especially when I wrote about the pain and helplessness in my heart after the baby fell ill, the tears of the bell fell down as I wrote, and I couldn't hold the pen at one time, so I just cried enough.
At the end of the composition, "Why do those beautiful things pass by in a flash? I tried my best to grab them and hold them tightly in my hands, but I felt so powerless."
"The baby has left me forever, but I will never forget the happiness it once brought me. I am grateful for this happiness because it taught me to cherish the present and also taught me to face everything bravely."
"Oh, my favorite cat, baby!"
Lingzi sighed, closed the composition text, and finally wrote down his thoughts, which was to give himself an explanation. Now he felt much better.
Lingzi inexplicably remembered the tribute written by Jia Baoyu to Qingwen and Daiyu. Although she couldn't quite understand it, the meaning was roughly the same. After writing it, she felt relieved after crying.
The few simple versions of "Dream of Red Mansions" on the bookshelf have been secretly read by Lunzi three times. Ji Xueying said that children cannot read that, but Lunzi just didn't listen. He secretly found one when he was on vacation, hid it under the pillow, and read it carefully when he was alone, and he was dazed after reading it.
