Chapter 4 Catfish(1/2)

The water of Jing River is very clear, and a few leisurely aquatic plants are fiddling with their bodies under the blue sky and white clouds. There are many resting pedestrians by the river, either travelers or villagers gather in this small tea shed.

Rich merchants have separate tables and tea sets in the tea shed. As for local villagers or big men who don’t have much money, they usually take a big bowl and pour a bowl on them. When they sit next to the shed, they hold out their own tobacco leaves from their arms and start to smoke.

The owner is a local in his forties. He is honest and never argues with customers.

"Please always change the place. This is just the storm. There are several women in my shed." As he said that, he glanced at the shed with intention. There were guests on two or three tables, and a pregnant woman with a big belly sat on one of them.

The smoking man glanced at the owner.

"Sir, please change the place, this tea money is mine."

The smoking man did not answer and moved forward two steps, exposing himself to the scorching sun.

But the hot wind was still blowing towards this side, and the woman in the shed coughed a few more times.

The owner came out again: "I'm sorry, the old man, but the wind blew in."

The smoking father-in-law glanced at the shop owner: "Is this your home?"

The Great Dao of Chaotian cannot be said to belong to anyone, I only have this shed. This father-in-law can't even ask for trouble even if he is exposed to the sun in the scorching sun. I don't know why he insisted on using cigarettes to smoke the woman.

The woman sighed, waved to the store owner, signaling that the store owner not to pay attention to it anymore.

There was a big tree diagonally opposite the shed, and the Taoist priests under the tree saw all this.

"What's the trouble with my father-in-law? Let's talk a few words, and you're not allowed to pay."

The father-in-law was originally a believer, but when he looked at the Taoist priest with two beards, he did not have a trace of immortal spirit and a Taoist priest, just like those liars in the world, and he felt even more unhappy.

This father-in-law is also a straightforward person, and snorted coldly: "I'm not allowed to smash your broken stall."

The father-in-law walked under the shade of the tree, and the air in the tea shed finally returned to freshness. The owner cast a grateful look at the Taoist priest.

"What if it's correct?" The Taoist priest asked, and the old man paused: "Then I'll give you money." He took a small step back unconsciously, and the Taoist priest saw it: "Okay, a sign of five cents."

Although the father-in-law was a little surprised, he still drew a lottery from the bamboo tube in the Taoist priest's hand.

"Middle and lower sign!"

"How to solve it?" If you see these common tricks of deceiving people, you will definitely draw the best and the best lottery, and ask for a few quotations. If you are sad, you will definitely draw a bad lottery, and you will definitely use the cracking method to trick you into cheating.

"It's difficult, it's difficult to walk, the inner room is restless, and the mediocre people are disturbing themselves."

The father-in-law asked, "How do you say this?"

The Taoist priest glanced at his father-in-law, who snorted coldly, scattered five cents in a row, and placed them on his table. The Taoist looked at him, but still did not answer.

"What do you mean?" The father-in-law was angry.

The Taoist priest glanced at the five cents. "This is just the money drawn by lottery, and I have no obligation to unblock it for you."

The father-in-law said furiously: "What do you want!"

The Taoist priest pointed to the road ahead: "There is a private school thirty miles away. The gentleman took in more wandering children. If I am satisfied with what I said, you will give you fifty taels of silver, what if you give me?"

"What if you are not satisfied?" The Taoist priest scratched his head when he heard this, as if he was very familiar with it, so he replied, "Then you smashed my stall."

"The father-in-law must be worried about family affairs, but it is mostly for his son!"

"Then tell me why you are upset."

The Taoist priest smiled and said, "Although my father-in-law is wearing coarse cloth clothes, what I have learned from my face is that my father-in-law is a wealthy family. However, the value is his son, not you."

The old man snorted coldly, which was considered a default.

"Then I'll congratulate my father-in-law on holding his grandson first."

The old man snorted coldly again.

"Your son should be away all year round, and when you go home once a year, will you suspect the child in your daughter-in-law's belly?"

The old man's eyes immediately changed from disdain to surprise.

"It was said in the signature, it's mediocre."

The old man lowered his head and lowered his voice and said, "But if it wasn't..."

The Taoist priest smiled and said, "Then he will get bloody and recognize his relatives after he was born. If he doesn't treat him well now, he is really your grandson, how can you deal with it?"

The old man looked at the woman in the shed and whispered to the Taoist priest: "I will send someone to send you fifty taels."

After saying that, the old man left straight.

After a while, a sedan chair came over and stopped in front of the pregnant woman.

The woman walked up and said, "Thank you, sir, I should send fifty taels of silver to that sir."

"No, he will give your father-in-law the fortune teller."

"This is just a little respect for the gentleman who adopted the orphan."

The fortune teller was not inconvenient to say more after hearing this.

With the sedan

As my son left, Xu Changan also walked out of the tea shed.

"Little brother, please stay."

Xu Changan turned his head and looked at the Taoist priest.

"I'll give you a word to my little brother."

"If you pass through a barrier, you must pass through the mountain."

"Thank you." Xu Changan walked forward with a bag on his back.

Xu Changan looked at the two roads in front of him and hesitated.

One road is to walk along the river, the other road is to go up the mountain, and both roads lead to Yunmeng Mountain.

It seemed that due to the influence of the previous scene, his feet walked onto the mountain like a devil.

When Xu Changan climbed the mountain, he realized that the plank road on the mountain had broken at some point. There was only a cliff in front of him, and the turbulent Jing River was under the cliff.

He was a little helpless, why did he believe the Taoist priest's nonsense?

Turning around, I saw several men in black.

He was dressed in black, but he looked dusty. He also saw the passers-by in Weicheng.

"Boy, you are so cunning. We chased us along the mountain road for several days. Say! Where is Shi Wanli, and where is that talisman?"

Xu Changan was really powerless about these two questions. If he knew where Uncle Shi was, how could he get blocked him? As for the talisman, I have never heard of it.

Looking at the people getting closer, Xu Changan stepped back step by step.

The sun at noon was very dazzling, especially on the edge of this cliff. Xu Changan began to wonder, could he be caught by them today?

A sound suddenly came from my ears, which seemed to be familiar.

"Jump down, don't be afraid."

Xu Changan didn't know where the courage came from, so he turned around and threw himself into the surging Jing River.

...

Xu Changan seemed to see a huge monster before entering the water.

There was no choking river water and suffocation as I imagined. It felt like I was slippery at the beginning, just like climbing on a large stone with moss on a rainy day.

The dark and faint skin, the unique mucus of fish, makes it look greasy, and there is even a little moss on the forehead. The two big eyes are as big as copper bells, and the thick lips stretch the entire mouth very much. Two strands of beards float freely in the water, just like aquatic plants on the river bank.

This is...a big catfish!

Xu Changan looked down and saw that he was lying on the head of the big catfish.

Although Xu Changan had never been to the sea or seen the sea, he had heard of the overlord of the sea, the whale half a hill-sized one. Xu Changan looked at the figure of the big catfish and waved his tail casually, and a huge wave broke out in the river. Xu Changan estimated that this big catfish was not much smaller than a whale.

Falling from a high place, even with a big catfish, Xu Changan's head became heavier and heavier, and he slowly closed his eyes.

...

A broken temple stands in the bamboo forest, and the wind blows around it, making people think of ghost stories I heard when I was a child.

The fire was swaying, not as beautiful as I imagined. There was only one Taoist priest wearing a wide robe, a big mouth, and a strange mustache, which was so long that it was about to collapse near its neck.

Xu Changan hesitated at the door for a while. He clearly remembered seeing a big catfish, but why did he be in the bamboo forest when he woke up?

"You little brat, you haven't come in yet." Listening to a familiar voice, Xu Changan looked up and down at the Taoist priest, and felt more and more that the fortune teller by the tea shed was like a catfish.

"My name is Qucai." The old man glanced at Xu Changan, and Xu Changan felt nervous, as if all the secrets were revealed in that glance.

"Yes, I am the giant catfish and the Taoist priest."

In those weird novels, Xu Changan has seen many monsters. Once they come out of the mountain, they will change the colors of mountains and rivers, and their aura will be extraordinary. How could they be as ordinary as this old man?

"Master, I really have no money. If you want to cheat, go and cheat others." Xu Changan said and grabbed Qucai's beard.

Qu Cat was so angry that his beard was crooked. This brat actually regarded himself as a liar in the world.

"Boy, have you forgotten who saved you in the river?"
