Chapter 1381 1381 Brand new script

Cameron sat cross-legged opposite Hugo, looking at Hugo quietly. At this time, Hugo was reading a big book. Cameron could clearly see a shadow cast from his straight nose, making his facial features look deeper. The eyes hidden in the shadows were like rivers bathed in the moonlight. As soon as his eyes fell slightly, he could see the cherry-colored lips, and green stubble appeared around it, making the lips look so soft, with a thin halo on it, which made people want to touch it.

Cameron sat up slightly, raised his hand and gently touched Hugo's mouth. When he touched the hard stubble, Hugo's head turned slightly, but there was no other reaction. This made Cameron laugh, raised his index finger and slowly climbed up along the stubble, gently stroked Hugo's cheeks, felt the temperature of his skin with his fingertips, and finally stopped at Hugo's temples, playing with them all one after another.

"Sweetheart, I'll be itchy like this." Hugo raised his hand and grabbed Cameron's right hand, with a helpless smile on his lips, then raised his eyes and glared at Cameron gently. Unexpectedly, Cameron became naughty and jumped suddenly, and he fell into Hugo's arms, holding Hugo's neck with both hands, "You can wait and see the script, please accompany me for a walk, or... or go play golf."

"Another?" Hugo laughed in silence. He only played golf with Cameron yesterday and went shopping the day before yesterday. Now it seems that Cameron is completely addicted. "Let's have lunch later, okay?" Hugo said with a smile, "I'll finish reading the script now."

A disappointed expression appeared on Cameron's face. He curled his lips and sat up again with a look of delight, then lay on Hugo's shoulder, "Can't you wait until you come back to see it later?"

Hugo couldn't help but choke and explained patiently, "Rick asked me to reply to him yesterday. Have you forgotten? I'm too late. I'll finish reading now, reply to Rick at noon, and then it's all right next." Hugo was also reading the script yesterday, but Cameron pulled him out to play golf, but he didn't finish reading the script in time.

Thinking of this, Cameron pouted, and did not speak anymore, lying on Hugo's shoulder with a dejected look on his face. Since she was behind, Hugo could not see Cameron's expression. Hugo thought for a while and instead of saying some empty words now, it would be better to finish reading the script quickly and go for lunch together. So Hugo lowered his head and read the script quickly.

This is the third version of the script of "The End of the World", but it is actually far from the "Independence Day" in Hugo's memory.

In this version of the script, the entire branch of David, a computer expert who plays a crucial role, was directly cancelled, including his ex-wife, his father disappeared, and a female character, Jia Siming, was added together. She is the assistant of the president's first secretary. At the beginning of the story, Jia Siming was on a business trip in Los Angeles. It was she who interpreted the countdown signal of aliens and realized that aliens were coming over major cities to destroy these cities. This made the president and others leave the White House in time.

Jia Siming is the girlfriend of the male protagonist Steve. Although Jia Siming asked the president to leave the White House in time, due to the time difference, she and Steve missed it. Steve, as a pilot captain, responded to the emergency call to go to the base. Jia Siming found Steve and his ex-girlfriend's son, rescued him, and then took him to the base to find Steve.

At the same time, Steve started the first round of duels with the aliens. All his teammates were unfortunately wiped out. He was the only one who survived and destroyed an alien combat plane. Steve captured a prisoner of war and came to the 51st District where the president and others were located.

Since Steve is the only person who has fought with aliens head-on and survived, he had a conversation with the president. Steve encouraged the president not to lose his faith, which made the president muster up the courage to use all his power to strike aliens, including nuclear weapons. At the same time, Steve returned to his original base and rescued Jia Siming.

After returning to Zone 51, Steve accidentally discovered the secret of the spacecraft. He could use computer viruses to paralyze the spacecraft's protection system, which could open the protective cover of the alien spacecraft and make their weapons really work. But the only requirement was that he had to enter the alien spacecraft's mother ship to implant the virus. Since Steve was the only one who knew about computer viruses and was also a pilot, he had to go into battle.

Before departure, Steve delivered an exciting speech, allowing everyone to pick up weapons and join the battle, including the inspired president. He was a pilot, but he had not flew for many years after he entered politics. In the end, Steve broke into the spacecraft alone and implanted the virus. On Earth, the pilots led by the president blew the alien spacecraft and achieved the final victory.

Even though Hugo no longer remembers the detailed plot, it can be clearly seen that the entire script has undergone a major change. Since the two characters David and his ex-wife were deleted at once, the direction of the entire storyline has been redistributed. Steve's weight has been significantly enhanced, and the presidential role has also been weakened. Steve directly became a lone hero who saved humanity and turned the tide. Of course, those pilots on the earth who sacrificed their lives to fight were indispensable. However, because Steve's role is very prominent, these supporting characters not only did not separate the protagonist's light, but instead became the finishing touch, making the story full.

More importantly, after reducing the two characters, Steve's girlfriend Jia Siming was also given more content outlines, and some writing was added to the emotional scene between Steve and Jia Siming, as well as the family affection between Steve and his biological son, making the characters become three-dimensional.

What surprised Hugo was that the interaction between Steve and the president also increased, making the fluency and connectivity of the whole story complete, and also highlighting the connection between soldiers and the president Hugo still had to admire Roland and Dean's skill in writing mainstream patriotic scripts in Hollywood.

Although the current "Independence Day" is still the story framework in memory, due to the decrease in characters, the connection between the characters has become closer, and the plot is progressing more compact. Of course, the male protagonist Steve inevitably became a lone hero in Hollywood genre films. This is a part that makes people criticized, but in this way, the plot is focused on Steve. From the perspective of storyline, the viewability has increased a lot.

Although such a script is not as fast as the "speed of life and death", it can be comparable to "Terminator 2" and "true lie", which is enough to increase the quality of the entire work of "Independence Day" by a step. Of course, the excellent script is only one aspect, and in the end it depends on Roland's direction of directing, whether he can stick to the sharp and fast style of the script and maintain his original sense of business.

Neither Rick nor Joseph told Hugo about the details of the entire negotiation process, so Hugo was quite puzzled at this time, "Did Roland and Dean obviously have prepared it? Then why did the scripts modified before still not have the quality of the ones?"

If Roland and Dean heard Hugo's remarks, they would probably vomit blood directly.

After the meeting that day, Kevin and Allen made a decision in just a few words: they would not give up Hugo, which means that either Roland and Dean compromised and revised the script within three days; or Twentieth Century Fox gave up this project and submitted other projects to cooperate with Hugo. Time is money, and Columbia Pictures, which is waiting for an opportunity, will not miss the opportunity.

As Kevin said, the weight of the "Hugo Lancaster" is too heavy. Even if Roland wants to say toughly, "I don't care about Hugo. Any actor who plays my work can succeed." But the words are stuck in his throat and can't be said. Now in the whole Hollywood, even directors like Steve Spielberg and George Lucas are difficult to directly reject Hugo. Perhaps only those who are determined to follow the literary and artistic route like Woody Allen will disdain Hugo. But Roland doubts that even Woody will look at Hugo with admiration, and no one will forget that "before Sunrise".

As a director, Roland's goal has always been very clear. He aspires to be a commercial director who can schedule big scenes and create epic shocking. To achieve this goal, he must be able to get the box office and get the support of large film companies. Actors like Hugo are not only coveted by large film companies, but also irresistible temptations for Roland.

So, Roland and Dean compromised. After returning that day, the two of them started writing the script all night long and revised it according to Rick's opinion. However, this was a very grand project. Although the script framework was basically unchanged, several clues had to be overturned and rewritten.

After the two of them had not been asleep for thirty-six hours, Kevin finally couldn't stand it anymore and sent two screenwriters to help. As a result, the four of them worked hard for nearly thirty hours, and then they announced that the new version of the script was released. The script of this version was beyond recognition and completely different from their original idea.

But even Roland and Dean themselves have to admit that after such changes, the whole plot became more compact and the idea became much clearer. If we put aside the flaw that almost every character is omnipotent, the quality of the script is really eye-catching.
