Chapter 1918 1918 Script exercises
With half expectation and half worry about the "Trumen's World", Hugo slowly walked back to the crew, but along the way he was constantly adjusting his walking posture and rhythm. He tried to find the most suitable pace, not too restrained, not too lively, and not too deliberate.
The crew members saw Hugo walking over from a distance, and they looked a little weird. They kept adjusting their pace, gestures and postures, changing their postures every few steps, just like a baby learning to walk, trying to find balance. That look was a bit clumsy, a little honest, and a little cute, making people laugh.
After Hugo slowly approached, he saw the expression of holding back his smile on the faces of the crew. Hugo immediately realized the reason. He stood there relaxedly, spread his hands, and slightly walked forward and gave his waist with a calm smile, "I am an open-minded person."
A Truman-style self-deprecating, with intelligence and sunshine, all the staff could no longer hold back and laugh out loud. Hugo always maintained his original movements, accepted everyone's smiles, and after a while, he took another step. However, he was still slowly studying the walking posture. The strange walking rhythm made everyone laugh. The warm and light atmosphere slowly flowed between the crew, as if the clear hot spring water was twitching between the round rocks.
Peter Will, who was originally discussing the crew's settlement with the drama, heard the laughter from the entrance, and looked up and greeted Hugo with a warm smile. "So, are you learning how to walk?" Hugo looked at Peter in surprise, because no one understood Hugo's intention of walking so strangely, and thought he was just sensational. "Forgot? During the rest period, Robin always liked to tell jokes to you and imitate others vividly. One of them was to learn from others' walking."
"Oh, yes..." Hugo's memories in his mind were awakened by Peter, and a smile appeared on his face. "What impressed me the most was that Robin once learned the walking posture of a pregnant woman, which was really..." It was so similar. Just being vivid is not enough to describe it. Hugo even suspected that Robin was "really" pregnant. Perhaps, this is why Robin was able to achieve such great success later on playing "Slim Daddy".
"Maybe you've been interested in comedy since then." Peter's words seemed casual, but gave Hugo a new understanding. Perhaps the seeds of comedy began to be planted from then on. "Hey, Nicole, you're here too?" Peter greeted without warning. Hugo turned his head reflexively and saw Nicole walking slowly over.
Nicole waved hello to the staff with a smile, and finally settled in front of Peter, "This town is smaller than I imagined, and the most impressive thing is the beautiful scenery surrounded by the sea, which is really unimaginable." Nicole looked at Hugo and received nodded recognition, which deepened the smile on her face. Then she looked at Peter, "I am ready now, I don't know when will it start?"
Peter greeted Hugo's puzzled look, "Screen Practice."
Hugo suddenly realized, "Oh, are you going to start script practice now? Of course I have no problem, I can start anytime." Hugo looked around, but he didn't see other actors in his sight. "So, which scene is going to start practicing? Are there only me and Nicole?"
"Yes, start with you first. After dinner, other actors should arrive one after another. There will be a collective script practice at that time." Peter explained, "You know that all the pressure in this movie is on your shoulders, so the script practice is still dominated by you."
There are many actors who appear in "Trumen's World", but in fact, there is only Truman's real protagonist. This is Truman's one-man show. Nicole's wife Meryl and Alexander Lorraine's friend Malone, although there are many scenes, they can only be regarded as supporting roles, and more of them are roles that promote the plot. As Peter said, Hugo's performance determines the quality of the entire movie.
Hugo nodded with a smile, "Then let's start."
Hugo and his group came to a quiet corner next to the crew, sitting under the open tent, with a sparkling sea in front of them, and the gentle sea breeze came towards them. Hugo took the script handed over by Samora, flipped it out, and wrote many notes in black. It can be seen that even though Hugo already has so many honors, he still attaches great importance to this shooting.
"Which scene will be rehearsed first?" Hugo and Nicole both looked at Peter, and Peter flipped through the script, "I just thought about it, how about we start with the seventeenth scene?"
The seventeenth scene is actually just a scene not far after the opening of the movie, but because many scenes are slowly advancing at the beginning of the movie, the numbers are relatively large. Hugo immediately understood the reason why Peter chose this scene, because this was the first scene when Truman had a conversation with his wife after he questioned his life.
A series of strange things happened in Truman's life, and at the same time, his desire to go to Fiji was always on the verge of moving. However, Truman did not understand the exact purpose of his desire to go to Fiji. He just wanted to leave here to see the outside world, but was more of a period of curiosity and entanglement.
Truman first discussed with his friend Ma Long, but Ma Long denied his thoughts; he sat alone on the beach thinking about the possibility of all this, but his fear of the sea bound his steps, which made him a little depressed. At this moment, it suddenly started to rain by the beach. Truman, who was covered in rain, ran home in a panic, wanting to share his thoughts with his wife, and longing to be recognized.
So, the next conversation came into being.
It can be said that this is Truman's first collision with an unknown life, and the joint efforts of his friend and wife suppressed his heart. Whether it is Truman, Marlon, or Meryl, the role in this conversation is very important. On the one hand, they have to dissuade Truman from his ideas, but on the other hand, they cannot reveal panic and abnormalities. They must stick to their roles and keep Truman in the studio.
Hugo read the lines and the whole plot up and down, including the lines of Truman and Meryl, then looked up at Nicole and found that Nicole's eyes were closed at this time and was slowly adjusting her breathing. Her whole emotions were settled, and she could see the irritable dust around her quiet little by little.
Nicole opened her eyes and then met Hugo's sight. She lit her chin and signaled that she was ready.
Nicole looked up and showed a look of surprise, "You are completely wet! Where have you been?"
Hugo looked at Nicole in front of her, staring at her with her eyes focused, widening her eyes and placing sincerity word by word, "I realized that if we squeeze out eight thousand dollars..."
But Nicole shook his head and interrupted him, "Every time you go out with Malone..."
"We can travel around for a whole year!" Truman's eyes flashed with excitement, and the amber eyes seemed to be filled with sunlight, and his whole face was filled with a pure and simple halo of happiness.
Nicole couldn't help but pause. She saw the face that shined because of excitement in front of her. The words stuck in her throat. She really couldn't bear to refuse, but she just paused for about a second. Then Nicole took a deep breath and smiled, "And what? Truman? We are going back to five years ago." This words made the halo on Truman's face dim little by little, and the smile on the corner of her mouth seemed to be slowly withering flowers, which made people feel regretful. Nicole lowered her eyes and avoided Truman's gaze. "You are like a young man who has never grown up."
Truman pursed his lips depressedly, but then widened his eyes again, and his smile boiled from the depths of his heart again, "Very good, maybe I'm like a teenager."
Nicole looked at Truman's eyes, paused, and the smile on the corner of her mouth calmed down, "We still have a mortgage to pay, Truman," the voice seemed a little too serious, and then the words became a little more urgent, "We still have a car loan, how can we leave like this regardless of some consequences?"
Truman lowered his head in disappointment. He frowned slightly as he listened to the old Taoist who was too familiar to him. He couldn't help but stand up and turn around, but then turned around and circled around, "But that would be an adventure!" Truman looked at his wife longingly, stretching out his hands to try to be recognized.
But Nicole paused, took a deep breath, and looked at Truman with anticipation, "I thought we were ready to have a child." But the irritability in his words still couldn't help but surge, "Isn't that risky enough?"
Truman took two steps back in disappointment, buried his head deeply, "Then you can wait..." He looked at his wife again, "But I want to go out for a walk." Truman couldn't help but start raising his hands, trying to use his hands to outline and depict that beautiful and unknown world, "Go and see the world and explore a new world." The face full of hope looked like a seven-year-old child holding a great dream.
"Explore..." Nicole showed a playful smile, stood up, looked at Truman, and said... "No, I need to do it again." Hugo and Peter looked at Nicole in surprise. In fact, there were only the last three lines left before the scene, but Nicole could not continue to hold on. She put the script on the table in depression and shook her head again, "Sorry, I...I think my condition is completely wrong. Can we do it again?"
Hugo could notice that something was wrong with Nicole. He was a little stuck in the process of the line just now, but he didn't say much, just nodded happily, "Of course, there's no problem."
