Chapter 2010 2010 Freedom to Death

In this review by Roger Ebert, freedom is used as the entry point to deeply interpret the "Trumen's World". In the second half of the comment, Roger once again mentioned "entertainment to death", and this view also runs through many of Hugo's works.

"In Hugo's works, we can always feel the ridicule and teasing of entertainment until death. From the "Seven Deadly Sins" to the "Los Angeles Secret" to the "Full Beauty", these works can clearly see the movie's criticism of entertainment until death. This time, the "Trumen's World" directly transformed this criticism into a comic show, and it was staged in a huge way.

When the entertainment industry develops to its extreme, even a vivid vitality becomes the entertainment media carrier. Interest groups begin to play the role of God, fiddling and manipulating, driving a life, making this life full of countless lies a product of entertainment, under the banner of "perfect life", and forcibly impose this life on a person.

Not only cruel, not only cold-blooded, not only perverted, but also arrogant, arrogant and arrogant.

In the 'Trumen's world', the object of entertainment for people is no longer a material carrier without vitality, but a living human being, playing with human emotions, thoughts and ideas in applause. This is not only chilling, but also furious, because what does this mean? It means that the next person to become the entertainment object... it may be you, maybe me, or any ordinary person. As long as it is profitable, our daily life may become the object of entertainment.

How terrible.

What's even more terrifying is that the movie gives a bloody ending: Truman escaped from Paradise Island, and the show finally ended, but the audience didn't feel that the person who had been with them for thirty years left like this, and their next step was 'What else is there?' This is the greatest sadness, because we have become victims of entertainment until death, but we didn't realize it at all.

Because going out is never an easy thing, whether it is real or fictional, when we gradually get used to everything around us, our own life, and let us accept new things, the process will inevitably be extremely difficult. Change is never an easy thing, just like letting us jump out of our own safety and try something full of challenges. Everyone will feel uneasy and everyone will feel fear. Therefore, more people will choose to retreat, stay away from moving forward, and be honest in their comfortable life, and are unwilling to make changes.

What's more, Truman? That's not just change, that's his life, that's his world, that's his life, but he's going to leave this field, go to an unknown, and go to a vague area where "Truman Burbank" does not have any meaning. This courage is definitely not just a saying. One step is the earth-shaking change of life!

Look at those TV audiences who stick to their comfortable life, Truman, who left Paradise Island, did what ordinary people could not do. This yearning and pursuit of freedom sublimates the entire movie.

In Hugo's resume, "Glory to Death" is a label that no one can ignore. Hugo, with the spirit of glory to death, reawakened the seeds of rock faith and completely changed the course of the entire music history; and today, "Trumen's World" has brought the spirit of "freedom to death" and implemented it all the time. The kind of thought that pursues freedom and is like the vitality in the spring breeze, awakening a cold society with a stagnant water.

This is not the first time Hugo has expressed such emotions, and I believe it will not be the last time. In the upcoming wave of entertainment until death, Hugo was screaming at the top of his lungs: "If you are not free, you would rather die"!

Did you hear it?"

Roger's reviews are magnificent, vigorous and majestic. He almost judges "Trump World" as a contemporary epic. In fact, it is not far away. Roger said in a short recommendation, "I enjoy watching a comedy drama movie like "Trump World". I like this movie just like "Forrest Gump" because Truman is a good man, honest and easy to touch, but beautiful but desirable."

Roger compared this work with "Forrest Gump", which obviously raised the "Trueman's World" to a new level, comparable to the recommendation of a full score of 100 and a full star four-star, which also made everyone have more expectations for the "Trueman's World".

From the New York Times to the Chicago Sun, the excellence of film reviews has far exceeded expectations, and as a comedy movie, it is even more incredible. Similarly, the representative media of the West Coast, the Los Angeles Times, also gave a full score of 100 points under the leadership of Nicholas McClass. This is the third consecutive full score among the first batch of comments on "Trumen's World"!

Unlike the other two professional film critics, Nicholas's views are relatively less professional, but the angle is also more interesting.

"'Trumen's World' is a comedy, without a doubt, but as a comedy, this work goes beyond Charlie Chaplin's 'modern era', not only reflects the characteristics of the entire era, but also explores the serious problems of society more deeply. From the fear of entertainment to death, to the fear of losing freedom, to the fear of being confused between reality and illusion, to the fear of losing meaning in life, the social darkness rooted in social indifference and interests first, has been brought to the extreme in this story. Even an artistic drama movie is difficult to reach such a height, but the 'Trumen' has done it.

What is even more interesting is that it is precisely because this is a comedy and an absurd comedy that this deep wave of thought has been tapped to the extreme. The "Trumen's World" is one step closer than the "Modern Time", digging out the roots of social problems, telling a moving story from a delicate and realistic perspective, full of humorous and relaxed atmosphere, but triggering a storm of reflection.

The film process is always filled with a kind of almost absurd black humor, which is often ridiculous. The absurdity brought by that fallacy is almost a model of black comedy. Whether it is Meryl's false smile that looks like a mask or the repeated outdated advertising inserts, it is full of strong ridicule, bringing the comedy style to the extreme.

As a comedy, this is undoubtedly amazing! At the same time, it uses this contrast of black humor to bring a reflection frenzy, creating a depth far beyond the plot movie with strong contrast. This reminds us of a classic masterpiece: "Forrest Gump".

It is the same comedy, the same plot, and the same social epic. The two works are both absolutely excellent! But the "Trumen's World" goes further than the "Forrest Gump". The core is further explored and discussed on the basis of comedy, making the movie truly a classic masterpiece that is incomparable. On this level, the "Trumen's World" is even better.

In this movie, Hugo, who starred in the comedy for the first time, once again amazed everyone. He performed the role of Truman almost perfectly! Hugo incorporated some slightly exaggerated and deliberate actions in the performance, echoing the Barbie-style mask of Nicole Kidmann. At the same time, Hugo also incorporated some innocent and romantic childlike temperament, making the character very natural and convincing.

During the entire character's growth, Hugo fully demonstrated Truman's psychological transformation. The grasp of several important scenes seemed to bring out the absurd black comedy effect with a little bit of out of control and despair, and at the same time, it perfectly interprets this horrifying story, bringing the audience into Truman's world bit by bit.

Unlike the delicate and rich performances in works such as "Death-infernal Affairs" and "Los Angeles City Secret", Hugo's performance was even more relaxed and exaggerated in this performance, and at the same time, it maintained Hugo's unique level performance, making Truman Burbank a real existence in our lives and ourselves.

Not only Hugo, under the leadership of Hugo, Nicole Kidman and Alexander Lorraine have devoted the most exciting performances of their careers. Whether it is Nicole's exquisite wife image as if it were like a porcelain doll, perfectly exerting black irony to the extreme; or Alexander's image of a friend who was moved by sincere friendship but fell into suffering, it truly brought the audience into the movie, making the plot of the movie complete. Even Christopher's actor Ed Harris also performed a performance beyond "Apollo 13"!

Even though we imagined that ‘Trumen’ would be a masterpiece, and even if we imagined that Hugo would once again give a wonderful performance, when we sat in the cinema to watch the movie, we couldn’t help but sigh: He did it again, and once again with an absolutely wonderful performance, we couldn’t help but stand up and applaud, expressing our highest respect in our hearts.

This is Hugo, the Hugo, the Hugo, which always brings surprises, and the Hugo, which always allows art to bring value. This is Truman's world, and this is our world. Truman has gone out, and what about us?"

This film review by Nicholas analyzed the "Trumen's World" from the perspective of comedy and actors, and gave praise in all aspects. It can be said that it gave affirmation in all aspects, and the full score of evaluation pushed this word of praise to the top.
