1490 Air Raid 2

Six dive bombers entered the battlefield in a row. Unlike the previous bombers from various countries that emphasized low-altitude horizontal bomb drops, these bombers have been flying at an altitude of more than 500 meters. Only when approaching the target can they enter the bombing route at a dive angle of 45 degrees!

As the plane entered the dive, a large amount of air poured into the air inlet at the lower part of the engine, and a scream-like sound came from the air. In the surprised eyes of the French, these bombers entered from high altitudes at an unprecedented angle. The German bombers' angle was very tricky. They almost avoided the strikes of most French anti-aircraft guns, because the latter's elevation angle was not enough and the reaction speed was not good. The machine guns did reflect faster, but their firepower intensity and effective shooting height were obviously a problem. After these proud German eagles reached the fixed point of dive, a series of bombs fell from an altitude of 300 meters!

The accuracy of the dive bombing was indeed good. In less than 3 minutes, six bombers dropped bombs one after another. Facing the battleship Lyon, which had air speed of up to 18 knots and had air defense firepower, actually hit three shots directly!

The first 300kg armor-piercing projectile landed on the left string of the battleship. This bomb easily tore open the upper deck of the battleship, and then exploded after contacting the dome armor. The power of high-explosion explosives of more than 100 kilograms cannot be underestimated. Just like a volcanic eruption, the decks were directly blown to pieces, and the anti-aircraft cannons and machine guns on the ship surface were directly blown into the air. After the smoke of guns was dissipated, a huge gap appeared on the deck of the battleship, and half of the side-stringed anti-aircraft cannon area was blown to pieces!

The second and third bombs hit the superstructure of the hull, one of which hits the chimney at the rear of the battleship, directly destroying most of the flue. Thick smoke and flames pour out from the broken flue, and balls of black smoke filled the deck, making a considerable part of the anti-aircraft fire unable to fire. The other bomb directly destroyed a mast, and the mast that was blown into several sections fell on the deck, forming another catastrophe.

After the thick smoke poured back into the boiler warehouse, the speed of the USS Lyon was significantly affected, and he began to stagger. At the same time, the destroyers and torpedo boats that covered the USS Lyon were also suppressed. More and more j             -3 fighters joined the suppression of the sea after breaking through the British interception. The armor-piercing incendiary bombs fired by the 20mm machine gun and the 12.7mm machine gun are still very deadly for light-protected destroyers!

Compared with the heavy bomber, the fighters were more agile and light. They were flying in the air like deadly wasps, and they were staring at them while they were unprepared! After a French destroyer on the edge had just driven away a bomber, they did not find a J-3 fighter approaching from behind their hull. When the French saw the plane in horror, the distance between the two sides had approached 400 meters! At a distance of less than 400 meters, the German pilot comfortably pressed the shooting button. When the French were busy turning the machine gun, a 20mm machine gun and two 12.7mm machine guns roared!

The bullets like a storm tore the seven Frenchmen who operated the Hachkas machine gun at the stern, and in the blink of an eye, only charred meat and blood donations were left on the entire deck. Then, three fire snakes continued to advance, and the powerful armor-piercing incendiary bomb easily pierced the upper building partition of the destroyer. The fragments generated after the shell explosion jumped and ejected in the cabin, killing the French troops to the ground.

In the continuous and revolving attacks, although it is impossible to kill a destroyer with a 20mm cannon and machine gun, it is undeniable that the French's air defense firepower is continuing to weaken! After the air defense firepower of the escort warships and the main battleships were suppressed, the time for the general attack finally came!

The horizontal bomber carrying heavy bombs and the attack aircraft carrying torpedoes entered the battlefield almost at the same time. With the roar of the engine, the horizontal bomber sliding down from high altitude first threw the 600kg bomb at the smoke-filled battleship.

"Full the left rudder! Kill the servo! Tell the guys in the boiler cabin that we need more steam!" In the command tower of the battleship Lyon, the captain shouted at the Bavarian bomber roaring in the distance. The huge battleship began to turn at full speed, and the speed reached the highest 15 knots that can be reached at present!

The accuracy of horizontal bombing is still a problem. Two bombs landed far to the right side of the warship, and then exploded two water columns with a height of more than 100 meters. The huge water wave spread around, with a radius even close to 70 meters! The third bomb did not fall on the French warship, but the losses caused were even greater than those on the warship! This 600kg semi-armor-piercing bomb almost fell into the seawater against the side of the ship! The distance from the warship hull is no more than 10 meters!

Boom! With a loud bang, the shock wave generated by more than 200 kilograms of high-explosion explosives hit the poor warship from the side. The French on the warship even felt that their warship was pushed hard to the left by a pair of giant hands. The damage caused by this bomb that exploded at a depth of about 8 meters underwater was so serious. Countless fragments and high-temperature and high-pressure bubbles generated by the explosion hit the fragile hull plate, directly causing a 20-meter-long scar on the hull! The large cabin was squeezed into a pile of debris by the huge impact force. Thousands of tons of sea water rushed in. At this moment, the underwater lightning protection system of the Lyon was completely destroyed!

The empty warehouse outside was declared finished in less than a second, and then the coal warehouse inside, the seawater and shrapnel easily tore open the last armored next door behind the coal warehouse, and the partitions were pushed down. The busy furnace in the cabin didn't even have time to react, and was flooded by the violent sea water. The seawater began to spread in the cabin, and soon flooded the power cabin!

After being shot, the Lyon had a serious tilt, and the warship that had lost most of its power could not avoid the subsequent attack. When six torpedo planes launched attacks from both sides at the same time, the time this warship could survive could only be calculated in minutes!

The six torpedo bombers were divided into two groups at the same time to launch the accumulation of the Lyon from both sides, which put a perfect end to this textbook-style sea attack. In less than 2 minutes, six torpedoes were launched one after another, of which four were directly hit! After a series of explosions, the strongest warship in France was directly bombed into three sections! And it sank into the seabed within 3 minutes.
