Chapter 8 Ghosts(1/2)

Brian returned along the narrow stairs and headed straight towards the deep corridor of the mausoleum.

As he continued to deepen, he could clearly feel a chill sweeping over, like the cold air of a deep dark lake.

He took a few sips, and the cold chill penetrated his heart, making him tremble.

This made him realize that there were definitely many undead creatures in the tomb cellar that were forcibly awakened by the surging energy caused by the radiation of the earth veins.

Brian looked forward thoughtfully, then stopped, took out a pinch of silver powder, and sprinkled a circle about three feet in diameter around him.

——"Protect evil!"

Then, he murmured a spell, and the powder under his feet began to flash in the dim tomb chamber, shining like stars.

At the same time, a nearly invisible magic barrier slowly emerged around him, and he moved slowly as he walked cautiously.

This is a spell that can withstand attacks from evil creatures, protect against mental control, and gain protection from summoned creatures.

With the blessing of "protecting evil", Brian suddenly felt much better.

Under the light technique, he stepped on the stone slabs on the soles of his feet and continued to move forward.

Soon, through the soft light emitted from his fingertips, he saw pairs of marble statues appearing on both sides of his left and right, extending to the darkness in the distance.

Each marble statue is carved with a human in robe, standing side by side, staring at the eternal darkness with its invisible eyes.

He raised his vigilance and continued to walk in the dark corridor. His footsteps echoed in the tomb. The faint sound of footsteps seemed to alarm them. Clusters of black shadows were storming on the walls.

After a moment, Brian stopped and raised the light from his fingertips.

Because a bronze door blocked his way, the bronze above was a little green due to the erosion of time.

He knew that as long as he opened the door, there was the main tomb he wanted to find inside.

But he knew very well that what was waiting for him was also likely to be a group of crazy undead. If he was not careful, he would be torn to pieces.

After all, he is quite familiar with the customs of the Naserel Empire.

Their civilization not only implemented slavery, but also popular tradition of burying living people for burial, especially those great arcane masters with noble identities.

Brian stood there and pondered for a moment, taking out some spell casting materials such as sulfur, white phosphorus and silver powder from the dimensional bag.

After the preparation was completed, he carefully pushed the door out.

"Hehehehehe..."

"It is the breath of the living..."

"The body...the shell...is all mine!"

"Snatch him!"

…………

A cold breeze blew by.

Gray ghost spirit bodies rushed towards the bronze door that was pushed open greedily and frantically, screaming and pounced on Brian.

Through the shaking light of the "Protecting Evil" barrier, Brian looked at a group of hideous ghosts and skillfully waved the casting materials into the air.

Following closely is a spell of a deadly spell, pointing directly to the approaching group of ghosts.

——"Three Ring Spell: Flash Explosion!"

A strong flash suddenly exploded in the ghost group and burst out with violently burning flames, lingering on the ghost's virtual body like maggots attached to the bones.

In an instant.

The scorching flashes and flames evaporated all the panicked ghosts in place, leaving no one left.

Gray soul crystals fell on the ground, making a pleasant and crisp sound.

"The target is dead!"

"Soul energy is being drawn..."

“Get experience: 100 points!”

“Get experience: 90 points!”

“Get experience: 120 points!”

…………

Looking at the system bar that kept jumping like code, Brian nodded with satisfaction.

A three-ring spell instantly killed more than 40 ghosts with a challenge level of only about level 1, with a total of more than 4,000 points of experience, and the harvest was pretty good.

After all, it is difficult to encounter this kind of undead cluster once.

Although ghosts belong to spirit-like life, non-magical weapons cannot harm them at all, it is very simple to eliminate them as long as you find the right method.

Then, Brian waved his hand, and the "Crystal Gift Pack" he gave him after the ghost group dissipated was all put into the dimension bag.

This is the material structure transformed into by pure spiritual life after dissipation, which is the so-called soul fragments.

It is the most common charging material for wizards, and it is also the core material for making low-level constructed creatures.

For him now, there will definitely be opportunities to use it.

After the smoke inside had almost dissipated, he walked in slowly.

The main tomb chamber is very spacious, with rows of neatly ordered sarcophagus arranged along three walls, guarding the black marble sarcophagus in the center of the room.

Brian found that the relief on each sarcophagus lid carved a servant dressed up as humans resting peacefully.

On the stone bricks on the three walls, there is also an alcove carved for each sarcophagus, with an air-dried internal organ placed inside.

This should be a custom of letting servants and their masters be buried with them during the Naseril period.

So he ignored it and didn't even think about pushing open the sarcophagus to check the burial objects.

Instead, he walked directly to the black marble sarcophagus in the center of the room.

Walking to the wide sarcophagus, Brian waved his hand and cleaned up the dust from the sarcophagus cover of the owner of the tomb.

A mosaic painting decorated on the coffin lid appeared before him, depicting the beautiful land scenery and the floating cities flying high above it.

And he could feel that the marble coffin lid was very heavy, but after he threw a detection spell over, he found an ancient magic engraved on it, making it very light.

And this magic is not as invalid as the ban on Mither's energy core and is still in effect.

Brian pushed lightly, and the "heavy" coffin lid opened with a bang.

He saw the former great arcane, Blassi, the lady of the North Star, with his hands overlapping on his chest, his eyes closed, and sleeping peacefully in the sarcophagus.

Her beautiful face still looks so lifelike, as if she can open her eyes at any time and show a smile full of youthful charm.

Brian suddenly shifted his gaze and realized that he was actually attracted by the invisible charm of the other party.

He calmed down and recalled some information about the owner of the tomb.

Polaris Lady Blassey, a 35-level spiritualist.

When I was young, I loved adventure very much. I didn’t settle down until I was nearly 100 years old and built my own floating city.

But her face is still as beautiful as a girl, and there are many people who pursue her. Some even doubt whether the other party has learned some magic to retain youth from mysterious races or elves.

This is not the case. After hundreds of years, her face began to age, her skin began to loosen, and her figure began to distort.

This made her mental state in her later years very bad.

Immersed in all day long in the conspiracy and fantasy of the suitor who no longer exists, and eventually died in a showdown with another great arcane.

The tomb of Ms. Polaris was carefully built for her by her heir to the floating city.

This is excerpted from the "Neseriel Chronicle" in the Royal Library of the Kingdom of Cormier.

There is another saying: Blaise fell in love with a priest who believed in the sun god Amanatta.

The priest was named Matik, and he was a legendary general in the surface territory of Neseril.

The general was recorded in the War Academy in the Kingdom of Cormier, because many of his battles were essential knowledge for the students.

Unlike other arcane artists of that era, Matik revered the gods with great fanaticism, especially the sun god Armanata.

Throughout his life, more than 50,000 lives were killed by the army led by Matic.

Among the many legendary victories that Matic has won, the final battle of the North Star Mountains is far more memorable than others.

For a long time, countless tacticians and strategists have studied his heroic final battle.

The bravery and fearlessness shown by Matic and his followers in that conflict between the enemy and the smallest, still inspire today's warriors.

Unfortunately, in the war against the orcs, he and his army all died in the North Star Mountains.

So some people speculate that this is the fundamental reason why the heartbroken Polar Star lady became very bad in her later years.

As the saying goes, silence is greater than death in the heart.

A level 35-level spiritual school great arcane actually...

Brian felt it was a bit unlikely. After all, how could a great arcane who could be upgraded to this level be easily affected by his state of mind?

However, some conspiracy theories of some players who like conspiracy theories sound pretty good.
