Chapter 21 Black Magic
Matthew once believed that the reason why Professor Horace Slughorn allowed himself to wait in the Potions classroom was to invite himself to join the Slug Club he created.
The club's members include students who are outstanding in Slughorn's view, as well as relatives of famous and successful people, and are considered an elite small group in Hogwarts.
But it turns out that he was thinking too much.
Dean Slytherin, who sent Harry Evans to the school hospital and then returned to the Potions classroom, only greeted Matthew in a "concerned" tone; and told Matthew that he could come to his office to find him if he had any problems at school, and he would definitely help him with all his strength.
I kept silent about the "club".
It seems that I have not truly met the standards in the minds of this dean.
But this is also a good start.
Matthew returned to the common room with supplies from the potion class.
"Blood is thicker than blood!" He whispered softly after touching the head of the giant snake on the door of the public lounge.
The stone door was opened, and he walked through the lively public lounge and returned to his dormitory.
After staying for a few days, Matthew has become accustomed to living at the bottom of the lake, and he can hear big or small waves at any time, or see fish, octopus and even other creatures swimming outside the window...
The night before yesterday, he even witnessed a terrible monster with a human head and fish body, holding a fork in his hand and watching the dormitory, which almost scared him.
Soon he realized that the other party should be a mermaid living in the Black Lake.
In order to prevent being "peeped" by mermaids, he simply pulled the curtains.
...
Just as Matthew put back the supplies from Potions class and was about to go to the auditorium for dinner.
"Wickfield!" Draco Malfoy's voice sounded behind him.
Matthew slowly turned around and saw Malfoy's gloomy face. Crab and Goll two big guys stood behind him like a hill.
In Slytherin's boys' dormitory, the phenomenon of "grouping" is very serious.
Draco Malfoy, Vincent Crabb and Gregory Goal are friends who grew up together (or the latter two are more suitable for the former followers); Theodore Nott is also from a pure-blood family, with good family conditions, and he met them before entering school...
Matthew Wickfield existed very embarrassingly as if he had been forced into this small group.
In addition, Matthew didn't have the intention to deliberately please him...or try to integrate into them.
So although he is a roommate in the dormitory, he can only be regarded as a nodding friend at most.
However, Malfoy showed such a hostile expression to himself, which was the first time he saw it.
"Malfoy, is there anything wrong?" he asked calmly.
"Slughorn invited you to join?" Malfoy asked coldly.
"Join?" Matthew frowned.
He quickly realized that Malfoy was already a member of the Slug Club, and this is what he is asking about now.
So he shook his head.
A look of arrogance appeared on Malfoy's face, and he said in a show-off: "It seems that your deliberate pleasing in potion class has not worked at all! You see, I did nothing, and he took the initiative to invite me on the first day of school!"
"Maybe." Matthew shrugged and said indifferently: "I'm going to go to the auditorium for dinner, are you together?"
Malfoy seemed to have a heavy blow and hit the sponge, and the expression on his face was a bit strange now.
"Then I'll go first." Matthew said lightly.
He then turned and left Slytherin's common room.
...
Life in Hogwarts continues.
For first-year freshmen, the most anticipated course is undoubtedly the Black Magic Defense class.
The first-year students of Slytherin and Ravenclaw did not welcome this course for the first time until Friday afternoon.
More than twenty young faces came to the Black Magic Defense Class classroom on the fourth floor with anticipation, quietly waiting for the beginning of the course.
Professor Rozier, like Matthew imagined, knew that the professor was definitely not easy to deal with when he saw the professor at first sight.
As the ringtone rang, she entered the classroom very on time, still wearing the neat black windbreaker.
"The Dark Magic Defense class is your most important course at Hogwarts, and it is also a course that will accompany you throughout your life." She said:
"If anyone dares to make trouble in my class, I will invite him out and never allow him to set foot here again. I have warned you now!"
This majestic opening remark completely shocked the entire classroom.
Whether Slytherin or Ravenclaw's students, they dared not take Potions class again. The curse class was so hilarious that the whole classroom was so quiet that a needle fell to the ground could hear it.
Scandaling at the quiet crowd, Professor Rozier continued:
"Very good, at the beginning of this first lesson, I want to ask you a question, what is black magic?"
As soon as she finished speaking, one arm was already raised high.
It was Hermione Granger of Ravenclaw.
"Miss Granger." Professor Rozier called her name.
"Black magic is an evil witchcraft created and used by black wizards. They usually cause great pain and torture to the caster, and the caster can recognize the effects of this magic and have the will to be happy to see the consequences of the harm."
Hermione replied very quickly and smoothly.
This answer was copied from "Black Magic: Self-Defense Guide" intact...or memorized it.
Matthew has also seen this passage, but obviously he cannot memorize it so skillfully with Hermione.
Professor Rozier's face was not fluctuating, and she just made a gesture to Hermione sit down.
"Miss Granger's answer is completely wrong!" Then she said without any mercy:
"First of all, there is no distinction between good and evil in magic itself; their good and evil depend on the wizard who uses them!
